I admire your "never say die" spirit, but OLTL and AMC are gone gone gone. ABC is already moving forward with their plans for post-soapdom. It hurts, I know but time to recognize reality.

Oh hush, Old School GH Fan. These kind of decisions can be overturned, especially when faced with the threat of losing millions of viewers as well as sponsor dollars. If you don't want to lend a hand fine, but don't be a douchebag to those that still have hope and are trying to change tptb's minds.

ReplyDeleteI do think letting the sponsor's know your opinion - that you are upset with ABC's decision, that you will NOT be watching the replacement shows, and that their support of ABC programing, regardless of content, will result in you no longer using their products, will have some impact. Will it convince ABC to reinstate AMC & OLTL - no, but could some entity, with the help of some sponsors, decide that, after all, there is money to made here - perhaps, and The Mouse House has had their chance.
ReplyDeleteWe have been soap fans for 29 years and this is heart breaking. Thanks Hoover u have our support. ABC needs to get real and understand there r still plenty of us in the world that love our soaps. To the cast of OLTL and AMC we will fight until the bitter end!
ReplyDeleteIf I want to see a cooking show I will go to Food Network.But I think Hoover is fantastic for standing up to ABC I think they have got too big for their britches or they are smoking some left handed cigerettes
ReplyDeleteEnough advertisers who are loyal to AMC & OLTL complete with our sizable & extremely loyal fanbase should prove a lucrative incentive to another network to pick them up.
ReplyDeleteIf networks like ABC are determined to provide a cheesy, shoddy, product because it causes next to nothing to produce, we can say goodbye to art and entertainment in TV. Boycott them.
i personally agre that half of the advetersers for abc oltl and amc should market their products to another network. its wed april 20 at12:05 i just finished watching AMC and its getting so good. this is reduculous we still love our soaps. we have reality and enough talk shows, and as for a cooking show paleeeeese we have food nnetwofk, and fashion blah blah blah sick up reality
