ReplyDeleteIf Piffy doesn't become a Doctor, she can become a Nurse Practitioner. I've had a couple over the years - I've got one now - and I've liked them rather than some of the Doctors that I've had. It would be a great story for Piffy.

I know they had that doctor growling at poor Piffy because they want her to do something else, but it was ridiculous. As an experienced nurse in charge she would be respected by the doctors.

Here we have a lot of nurse practitioners. The largest difference between the two roles is that NPs are permitted to prescribe treatments, order tests, and diagnose patients—duties normally performed by physicians—whereas RNs are not.Nurse practitioners have greater autonomy. That means they can serve as a primary care provider without oversight of a physician. That includes prescribing medication and ordering of tests. It would give her a new path and sl and still let her be a nurse.
And I'm glad you popped in to comment. I was about to give up. No one seems to want to talk about the show any more.

I haven't been to Rochester, but when I was working I was sent on a learning trip to the old Griffiss Air Force Base in New York. Beautiful country. Glad I went in the summer though. I'm a Southern girl and not comfortable driving in snow.

I joined the Air Force to see the world and spent my entire career in Virginia and Maryland. I was a computer programmer and there wasn't that many places to send us. When my husband got his remote, I asked for mine to get it out of the way since we didn't have kids yet. They told me they didn't have any and that I probably wouldn't ever get one. I was bummed. I so wanted to go to overseas. Plus, being as both my husband as I were both in the Air Force they worked to keep us together which also limited where they could send us.

Deletebigdoodah, congrats. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I retired in 2004. And if you ever get the chance to get a top secret clearance get it. It will help you get salary wise when you get out.

I can't believe I am saying this, but at LEAST Harmony and Phyllis working at the same place gives a LITTLE credibility to the switching of babies.....I was afraid it was gonna be something like Nina's mom was at Dawn of Day and a Shiloh follower!!!
