LOVING GH!!

So..Luke and Holly are in PA? Oh, CORINTH PA-- where the LOVING Murders happened. TONS of references to the fact that Gwen killed off half the town. Loving became The City, btw, which Tracy Q was on.
Faison also appeared on Loving, chasing Ava down.
GOOD STUFF!! Gwen killed the last one with a powder puff.

"You guys are talking about Game of Thrones again, aren't you? Am I the only one not watching that nerd fest"?? Maxie to Spin/Fe. HAhahaa.

Kristina Wagner looks gorgeous.  She and Maxie were talking about Georgie. Sniff.  They changed for the wedding so fast!! The Floating Rib looks  pretty!!  YEAAAA for the wedding.

Dr. O was going to spill the whole story to Britt when ANNA interrupts. ugh-- now she's cornered in the apartment

GOOD CLIFF  HANGER TODAY.. is it Frisco? Richard Simmons? WHO!?

  1. Today was great and pitch-perfect IMO. This is what GH needs to be - a fun mix of the older and newer generations...throw in a dash of badass Anna and some heart to heart conversations...Callbacks to past soap history (laughed hysterically yelling yes yes with the recreation of the Loving mansion - that was flipping awesome and totally unexpected!). The Flea and Maxie girl talk was a LONG LONG time in coming (let's face it - YEARS!)...
I really liked it and am only left wondering why some of the other eppies seem to drag on like they do. It was fantastic today and I literally watched every scene.!

  3. The hospital: Felix wins the line of the day!

Felix: Lisa Obrecht? Sounds like a brick wall.

ROFL! Did he mean her last name sounds like a brick wall? :) Love Felix and Spinny working together! :) Love Anna in the middle! :) Love how Anna tells Duke she loves him!!!! :)

Patrick and Sabrina talking about Dr O and Robin! :)

Felix and Sabrina's home: Oh come on Dr O! Slap your daughter again!! :) Dr O was going to tell her daughter about Robin!!!! Oh Anna you came in the wrong time!!!

Corinth PA home: Holly and Luke scene! They are talking about the loving murders! YAY!!! They are in the house that it happened in! Love the shout out! I watched Loving back then. I remember the loving murders. I was so pissed off when Jeremy Hunter was murdered!! :'( Then the soap turned into the City. I watched the City! Boy people were talking about Robin today, that I was thinking Holly and Luke were going to find her!!! I think they did!!! :) Damn where is Laura?!?!!

Floating rib: Oh don't worry Lulu!! You had Maxie sign a contract! So she can't take the baby!!! Relax! Love the Maxie and Felicia scene awww! :) Lucy got a haircut! It's cute!! :) Oh the wedding!!! Oh who is the person that showed up?! Frisco? Richard Simmons? :) The look on Lucy's face! ROFL! Hey Lucy is marrying Mac and Felicia? Huh?!

  4. I would LOVE it if it was Frisco; trying to break up the wedding is totally something he would do. However, I doubt it is him based on the hate tweets that Jack Wagner sent out a few weeks earlier.

I was too young to watch Loving, so a lot of that stuff was over my head. The only thing I even know about that show was that they spelled out the name in the theme (because that's how my brother learned to spell 'loving').

  6. Never heard of Loving, The City, not sure if I ever heard of it. Confused by the references to all of this.

  7. Loving ran for awhile...It was a 30 minute soap that aired before the AMC/OLTL/GH block in the afternoon. Had several crossovers from other soaps as well. Jeremy from AMC along with Ceara (Genie Francis) came over there and Jeremy stuck around to have a storyline with that show's diva, Ava and GH's Fiason of all people. It was the first time that the audience had an indication that somehow had survived the deep water boat explosion that we thought had killed Fiason, Anna, and Scorpio. Other notables on there was a young Rena Sofa (GH's own Lois) playing a girl named Rocky and Randolph Mantooth from the old Emergency! show playing a character too. The final storyline was wild with half the cast getting killed off by a serial killer and the remaining few moving to NYC, having the show rebranded the City and then introducing Tracey Q into the mix who was wheeling and dealing with the mob.

  8. I did a doubled take when I heard Corinth and then Gwen. Thanks so much for clearing this up! It is big, and I wonder if they are going to further tie in these soaps.

Ok. I am hoping someone other than Karen will remember this.

On the City, Tracy needed to impress somebody. I think it was her future husband? And she needed her parents there and her son. They couldnt make it. So, she HIRED actors to portray those three at a party.

The woman who played Lila was a drunk and a lush.

The guy who plays Edward was gay and had the hots for Ned.

It was hysterical. I am sure it is on youtube somewhere. I think I once turned Karen onto this classic episode.

If you guys want a really big laugh, check it out. I think "The City Fake Qs" might bring it up.

  9. Whoever interrupted the wedding is female. I think.

  10. No, it'll be Richard Simmons. And I agree with Elizabeth, it won't be Frisco, we may never see Frisco again. Jack Wagner burned his bridge on those Twitter rants no doubt! I remember when Loving and The City was on but, I never watched them. A treat for those who did though :)

  11. Such a treat for us Loving/City fans. It was on so early in the day, and I was already VHS-taping AMC and OLTL, and watching GH when I got home from school, that I only saw it in the summer and on holidays or days I was sick. But I had a Soap Opera Digest subscription so I could keep up. I don't think Ron and Frank are "paying homage" to these shows as much as they are paying homage to us fans. You don't need to know the stories to keep following the GH Holly/Luke story. But if you watched Loving and hear GH brought it up, wouldn't you turn in just to see? Even as a part-time fan I was just grinning ear to ear....still am. :) The thing about Cartini is that they LOVE and APPRECIATE all the soaps, and have always been fans. They get it. They get the steadfast dedication. Yay for a great episode today.

  12. I loved Loving - right after Ryan's Hope. I always wanted Tricia Alden's hair... I remember all the murders and Gwen but didn't really watch it when it turned into "The City"
All those old soap memories make me smile.
