Jason and AJ were in boarding school for awhile and came home grown. AJ was a screw up and Jason on the track to be Alan's protegee in the medical field. Well, until AJ drove drunk into a tree and Jason was forever changed into a mobular hitman with limited feelings. (frontal lobe damage).
I'm sure this will all be explained when Heather gets to town. I believe Heather was with Scott at the time the custody battle was happening.
As for the baby in the film sequence? Jason as a baby- and how did Franco get it? I say because Susan Moore is his mama. BY THE WAY...this would all be WAY more interesting if ALAN WAS ALIVE (Blaming Guza again!!) !!

Great summary, I remember it all well. Was so amazed to actually be HEARING the name Susan Moore again! And yeah, Scott married Susan to ride her Quartermaine gravy train. I too think Heather will have some answer about the video. Either it is a video of baby Jason or it is a video of Jason's brother - twin? - Franco. Not sure I'd buy that retcon, but hey, they are remembering the past, so I will let it go! It is no way as bad as the HORRIBLE retcon they did to Rick Webber before killing him off so callously.

ReplyDeleteI have always loved how Monica came to think of Jason as her own. Always thought it was sort of a kinship she felt, since she was an orphan herself, raised without any family. They never addressed it as such on the show, but I figured she could relate to this little baby who lost his mother and needed her to be that.
ReplyDeleteCaffeinated Joe's post reminded me that Gail Baldwin had been Monica's mentor. Long ago when she first arrived.
ReplyDeleteMonica's pregnancy with AJ was a separate and earlier story than Susan's pregnancy.
Monica had always had a thing for Rick Webber, even while she was married to his brother. When Jeff divorced her because of it, Rick rejected her and she married Alan Q. Meanwhile Rick married Leslie and they were happy for awhile. He even adopted Laura and later he and Leslie took in Amy, who had been raised as Laura's sister.
During a terrible night at the hospital, when Rick and Monica lost a patient, they became involved again. Rick tried to stay true to Lesley, but the pull between them was strong and an affair developed and Lesley divorced Rick. When Monica was discovered to be pregnant, she assumed it was Rick's and hoped this would win him finally, but it was discovered baby AJ had a Q birthmark. (Meantime, Alan had tried twice to kill the lovers!)
Anyway, Alan always resented AJ because of that long period when he thought the kid was Rick Webber's, so he was never very loving to AJ. Alan and Monica reconciled but it was always an uneasy truce.
Much later, Alan took up with Susan Moore who had taken over managing the Campus Disco, after Luke ran off with Laura. Finally he put her up in a cute little cottage across town (the Q's live in a mansion on Harborview Rd, very ritzy)--until she got bored and wanted marriage. Susan's cousin Heather got involved with Scotty after Scotty decided to take up with Susan after Alan left her. He married Susan and she had the baby. Susan was giving all Qs a hard time and Crane Tolliver (who I think was an old ex of Lila's) murdered her.
And so on. There was at least 2 or 3 years between AJ and Jason.
I remember Leslie telling Laura about her miserable moment in court that day as the judge granted her divorce. They were sitting in the hospital cafeteria, a place used often for tête-à -têtes and for folks waiting thru operations. Luke first met sister Bobbie's newest boyfriend, Noah Drake, in that cafeteria (loved that scene), and it was where Luke first began to think Laura might have feelings for him. It would be great to bring back that place for character chats and drama. I still see Luke and Bobbie going arm in arm down the hall to the Cafeteria whenever either had a crisis. Sometimes they did a little skip. I really miss some of those old relationships, but I can understand some actors' reluctance to have viewers see them as they have aged. Can't be easy to read all the jabs at their face work or how bad they look now. Easier to just avoid it all....
Actually many people respondind to karen's blog are long time viewers of GH and knew that susan is heather's cousin and jason's mom (many talked about it in previous posts ). We were wondering what relationship Heather will have concerning jason's illness. Will Franco be jason's half brother or has their been a lie and baby switch ( perhaps not a Q )?

Jason/Franco are probably brothers or fraternal twins. Would that be why Sam's pregnancy came up as Jason's being the father? The dna is the same as Franco's??
My2Cents2..I have been wondering the same thing about the DNA. If Franco and Jason are brothers then would the DNA be the same in the test. Would they even know in testing after the baby is born? What a horrid thing if you were never able to know for real. If anyone with a degree in genetics is out there maybe they can give us an answer.

That is what I would like to know as well.
Franco and Jason woudl be Fraternal twins and would not have identical DNA. They are very distinguishable through testing.
