ReplyDeleteI'm REALLY hoping that Kate/Connie is responsible for shooting out Anthony's tires and therefore causing the accident that killed precious little Hope. ;( Then, I want her to be tried and use her DID as a plea for a lesser sentence. THEN I want Todd to expose her DID as a big fat lie....he should know because he faked his own DID to get out of a crime. THAT would be poetic justice and good, soapy drama.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad OLTL actors are getting work in venues I can watch regularly. But I'm curious how much depth and layering they can adequately give to "Todd" (who is perhaps the most complex character on any soap) without the other people involved in his twisted history, specifically Blair and Tea, Viki, and Marty. Also, RH never wants to consider Todd a romantic lead, b/c of Todd's history of sexual abuse/assault, and from what I know of GH, they are really into people bed-hopping!

ReplyDeleteAs someone who has never watched OLTL I'm not really happy over this information. I wasn't immediately drawn to the character. And does Port Charles really need another bad guy? I was happy thinking they'll bring over a policeman and maybe the mob stuff and the violence will be down played. Bringing this guy in on contract definitely shoots down that assumption.
ReplyDeleteI'm also wondering if they'll replace the actor who plays Ethan when they want to bring him back. ( And I thought it was a really lame storyline too.)
Todd is so much more complex then any GH mobster. He has so many different nuances that you can go through an episode hating him, rooting for him, and then just being completely. confused about how you feel. He is a brilliant actor and I think given a chance on GH, most will come to really love/hate yet appreciate this character. Please give him time before you make up your mind. I for one, totally saw chemistry with Carly. They could be totally bad ass together1

Yes, this is good. Howarth is a natural actor, like Jonathan Jackson. Recall how much better JJ was than Greg Vaughn? That's the level of diff between Howarth and, say, your typical soap psycho.
Given the promos, I was afraid that Tod would get asskicked by Sonny. Now on contract, I think Todd will be Sonny's greatest enemy. He blows the silly Franco crap out of the water.
The only downside is that Howarth can't go on to films.
It pisses me when stiffs like Leo DiCaprio and Tom Cruise get megabucks while real actors like JJ and RH, who could kick ass in the same roles, are stuck on soaps. Not that I don't enjoy them, but quality means zilch in acting.

ReplyDeleteTodd is going to be Sonny's worse enemy. Todd doesn't kill people like Sonny's people do. His way is dirtier than death.
ME has a past with Sonny from his FBI days. You know John McBain is a HERO (not to me) and he always gets the bad guys!!!

I thought he would when the show ended for a brief time to take Liz with him, but now I am not so sure GH is ending!!
I agree with you My2cents...GV was the best of the adult Lucky's. JJ was a great teenage Lucky, but GV kicks his butt as the adult Lucky...

ReplyDeleteFor those of us not attracted to hunky guys, JJ improved Lucky almost overnight. GV was solid, JJ was spectacular.
ReplyDeleteHowarth has the best of both for you ladies, though- he's a great actor, hunky, and a bad boy. Enjoy it.
Plus he'll make Sonny miserable as McBain goes after both of them.
I thought GV was too old to play Lucky but he was gorgeous, a decent actor and the nicest guy. JJ was the real powerhouse from day one. I can see that RH is a good actor, too, but the last thing I want to see is his character being involved with Sonny and Carly, who most of us agree are wearing out their welcome. I think we are going to lose more GH fans even if we get more OLTL fans.

I hated seeing JJ crying all the time. I hated how he turned into Luke. To be honest, what was that crap fuzz on his face? How gross!
Hunk has nothing to do with it for me. I want quality. I don't think Todd is a hunk. NOT by far. I do think he is a great actor. He makes me laugh, and I have to tell you, I loved his scenes with Carly yesterday!
I agree with you again My2cents- I liked the way they wrote GV's Lucky as an independent man. Hated how they wrote JJ's Lucky as being dependent on Luke. And the fact that GV is much nicer to look at was just an added bonus. Also don't think that RH is great looking- but he is a great actor.

Lucky wasn't bad looking until those patch fuzzies showed up on his face!!
I remember, when he first came back, and he found out about Liz & Nik. His acting was captivating that day. I said I didn't think GV could have pulled off those scenes.
But, JJ wasn't happy on the show. It was time for him to leave. Doesn't he have a new gig on primetime now??
Another guy I do NOT think is good looking is Jawn McBain. His NOSE!! And him chewing gum with his hands in his pocket, walking away like Joe Cool. He was no Joe Cool imo!
However, I welcome him to GH.
