  1. Not sure what to make of these numbers as I've been taking notice of my FB & Twitter friends over the last couple of weeks, and most have been on spring break. Now on the East Coast where I am, our spring break doesn't happen for most here until the 2nd, 3rd week in April.

Plus, I'm also not one who believes the Nielson numbers are accurate, especially give viewer's watching habits in this digital age. Also, I have yet to find a FB or Twitter friend who is a Nielson viewer.

  2. I am shocked!
I am a life time watcher and I can honestly say...
The show is better than it has been in years and years and years!!!
All I can figure it is ex-AMC and ex-OLTL watchers, that once tuned in but now angry since the shows were canceled so they don't watch any ABC daytime.
Also I wonder how many Liason fans still don't watch because of ending the couple and the death of Jake.
Yes, I am Liason fan, but the way I see it is, I will never get my favorite couple back if GH gets canceled. Plus the show has gotten sooooo Good lately, that I tune in for all of it not just one character or couple, like I did in the past.

So yes, I am Shocked the ratings aren't better.
It's actually General Hospital again, not the Mini Sopranos, like the couple of decades.

  3. Isn't it likely that the "compared to last year" rating is a result of the surge in ratings that came as a result of the debacle that was Sonny and Brenda's wedding? That drew in and turned off so many viewers. There was a ratings surge because of it though, so to compare it to that disaster hardly seems fair.

  4. several reasons for ABCD taking a dive:

--that gawdawful hen party "the view" was in reruns
--how much of "the spew" can people really watch?
--"the rev" ... let me put it this way: on another blog some woman said she was getting her car fixed and was sitting in the lobby when it came on the tv. after about three minutes some got up and changed the channel saying it was the worst thing he'd ever seen on tv

... so with lead-ins like that, it's really no wonder. plus it was only down 1,000 viewers from last week which isnt much to write home about.

    I STILL MISS MY OLTL

  6. Your right. It isn't about spring break, its about people turning the channel before GH comes on.
Spring break shouldn't matter to those who DVR the show. Spring break is still going on with another 2 weeks of it. All over it was different times depending on college, highschool, place you live.

The Rev is bringing GH down. I hope tptb are smart enough to understand this.

  7. ABC has to advertise this diamond in the rough more. Hey, how about at night - during some of that nite time soapy goodness. Dang-it ABC be proud of what you've got.
