Sunday Surgery: Malpractice

Yes...I'm being sued. BY YOU! lol... oy--this week was a mess work and health wise. I had just too much on the old' wubba plate. I did manage some GH so here goes nothin!

Aw, look at Kelly Sullivan and Alberta!! Look at Alberta's face/eyes-- OMG-- she's like "IS THIS CONNIE OR KATE"?!! lol...( Her lipstick is totally Alberta Red.)

Speaking of... OMG, just end the DID story NOW before it makes me giggle even more. I 'get' the concept and it's an interesting idea for a 'split'...but the execution? Nope. Not seeing it. And Sonny not noticing? Plus the fact in DID cases the person rarely if EVER switches back and forth between persona's that fast and often. It's like watching a ping pong ball.
Well, I guess now that we have that fugly dress to riff on I can laugh about it!

SCENES OF THE WEEK: The best scenes this week were the lighter ones-- and I'm giving a tie to  these:
The wonderfully fun Spin-A-Matt fight!! Really great comic timing--funny dialog, you name it. Alexis and Mac added to the beauty of this scene.

Three's company!
Oh please.. let the THREE of them move in together! Loved Finola's eyes when Tracy was all up in her face. LOL. I bet that just like the scene above, the actors had a lot of leeway in their scripts!! I think the actors are also happy that the lights are on bright enough for them to recognize each other. Heh.

So, what's next? Carly and Johnny-- and Sonny's trial. Maxie's mayhem and weird stories. Starr and Michael. McBain strollin' around town flaring those nostrils. Oh, btw, I also really liked the scene with he and KeMo at the airport. When "John" gave her gum and she smiled and tossed off her line it was the most natural and happy I've seen her in AGES.

We have the Dolores story moving forward and I guess she's getting a hunky hubby--  Christian Monzon. Mr. Abo-litious Model about Town. Ron and Frank love their abs!! You know he'll be shirtless as much as the Ford Brothers were!

That's all I've got for you. New Spoilers are up.

BTW, I did hear Bob Guza might be coming back--

april fools! hee hee

Sunday Surgery: Exequias a Amicus

Ah... Latin so much more fitting for a funeral than English, yes?  This week was Robin's week--despite the slow start it ended up being a wonderful testament to her life and watching someone grow up before our eyes.
In our ever changing world, it is nice to have a constant--doesn't happen much but for some reason the soap gods smiled and let us have our Robin, un-SORA'd and not recast.

SCENE OF THE WEEK: There were a huge amount to choose from but for me, Robin tying Patrick's tie was so perfect it was just amazing to watch. What more of an intimate gesture is there between a man and a woman than she tying his tie before going out or he putting on her necklace? Just a raw, emotional scene.

GIGGLE OF THE WEEK: Oh --- gotta love them Handgun LTD mags!! LOL

NOT THE SCENE OF THE WEEK: Ok, yes, I'm harping on this but I just CAN'T DEAL with the "Change" of Kate/Connie. It was awkward and I laughed OUT LOUD (and I was alone) when she "flipped back" . Brandon Barash needs a damn medal for not losing it during this whole thing.

FUN SURPRISE OF THE WEEK:  Oh drop that towel!! Isn't this a glorious screen shot of the moment of truth!? LOL. That's Cartini-- shirtless near naked hunks exposing themselves randomly. (If you didn't watch OLTL you missed 3 brothers that were 1/2 neekid all the time and they were spectacular!) Sam's face...schwing!
PS. Hit the link for all week in HD Screen shots!

I also really love the fact that McBain and Sonny have a history (even if it's off screen, it's totally believable)...and liked the whole Todd courtroom stuff. Starr and Michael are cute together and Michael isn't such a whiny ween around her. Carly and Blair, well...you know they are charming together. Now that the OLTL people are "established" I'm sure it will integrate into GH way more smoothly.

Heather Webber is coming. There is such a huge history behind this it's hard to get it down to a bite size piece. THIS is the Heather I remember and boy did she play crazy really, really well. My fave scene of her was when she was hiding in a closet, rocking a baby doll calling it "Steven Lars"...
From TV Megasite: (interview with Mary O'Brien)
Heather Grant, a troubled, desperate young woman who, after selling her out-of-wedlock baby, Steven Lars, on the black market, wound up marrying the baby's young father, Dr. Jeff Webber (Richard Dean Anderson). Telling her new husband the baby died at birth, Heather endured Jeff's discovering their son was alive and, after learning good friends Dr. Peter and Diana Taylor unwittingly adopted her young son, she set out to get the baby back at any and all cost.

Robin Mattson took the role over and the rest is history! There is a GREAT history on About.com regarding all things Heather. One of my problems with Mattson is that I remember her more from AMC as Janet-- I think I was watching that show more then? Not sure. Having Heather back should open a lot of doors. I hope she sees Tracy and AUDREY...OMG they so should get RA back on for that one. I still hope Richard Dean Anderson says yes to playing Dr. Jeff because he and Monica? Hoo-Ah.

Sunday Surgery: Rigor Mortis

Rigor Mortis:  (Latin meaning "stiffness of death")...I couldn't help but think this week what Robin's doing in the morgue. I absolutely hate it when I can't follow a timeline on a soap. Drives me nuts. Robin died 2 weeks ago.. it's like a day has passed, or two? I mean, come on-- I guess I'm one of those people that are sticklers for time. I hated the JaSam honeymoon--total disregard for any kind of "time".  The show felt choppy this week and like it was trying to 'reset' itself. They really need to drop the whole Dolores/Stripper thing. No one cares.

Ok, on to the REAL skivvy of the week---the infusion of OLTL into GH. I am trying to be objective here. It's hard because I loved OLTL and so love seeing my old friends on screen again. I do however, totally get where others are coming from. If some characters from  Days of Our Lives came over,  I'd probably have a fit. I get it. Then again, if it was to help ratings, bring it on. We need something-- we all know that.  Katie Couric is "in our corner" lol. For some reason, I think that's not enough but it can't hurt! Keep reading for more!

Sunday Surgery: Clipping Wings

My Fave Photo, I leave it up on the Wubs Net always!
There goes Robin... never to return? Or--- ?? I know she taped something with Tristan Rogers as a "vision" and maybe that's why Robert goes missing (to find her??) We can only hope!! I asked readers to leave some of their Scorpio Family memories. See them after the jump!

Sunday Surgery: The Producers

"Springtime for Hitler"...
Think about it.  GH is actually the George Costanza's "opposite" of The Producers. In that film, they were putting on a show that was almost guaranteed to be a hit but wanted a flop so it closed. On the show, they are putting on a hit but want it to be a hit so it stays...but we know it will probably close. That's the WACKY BUSINESS OF HOLLYWEIRD!  YEPPER!. GH is getting watchable again and I'm happy.  I have been for about 2 weeks. Things started shifting and morphing into something I didn't want to fall asleep during.
So, dear Wubbers, Read On to see the magic that is unfolding at our little studio:

Sunday Surgery: Transfusion

Changes, they are a comin' Slowly but surely-- the abrupt snap to black after scenes is a total OLTL trick. Women are becoming more dimensional and less like shrieking harpies. Even Carly's toned down. Dare we hope for a fun, connected show?? One we can rush home too? It's getting there. Crossed fingers.

OLTL Buzzzzz:
Remember that Kassie and Roger (Blair/Todd) will only be on GH for about 8 eppies so far. That may change...not sure. They are the parents of Starr Manning, aspiring singer and baby Mama to Hope. (She had her at 16). I am wondering if Hope is going to be a part of this story or what. It may be hard to drag a baby around PC--we know how that goes. Heh.  Todd Manning is the owner of "The Sun" a tabloid type paper in Llanview. Blair is a much married Mom of 3 (Jack, Starr and Sam) who gets into trouble a lot. Colorful character--and she sings. Todd masterminded the gang-rape of Marty Seybrook all those years ago. He was "redeemed" somewhat through the years but remains a bad-tempered rogue. He was played by Trevor St.  John until it was discovered that Trevor was his brother Victor. (and  ATWT was cancelled).  Todd is Vicki Lord's brother. Their father was nasty in all sorts of ways. Vicki suffered from DID and was "Niki/Viki"--just like her daughter Jess was Tess and host of other alters.  I think Laura Wright and Kassie will be greatly matched on the show!

Awww. New Cast Wub

SCENE OF THE WEEK:  Ah, yes the Davis girls...happy for Baby comin'!! Hopefully another GIRLIE to add to the fold!!

OH HELL NO!
CONNIE/KATE NOT the Scene of the Week: This is a page from OLTL I don't want to happen!! I don't like it.  Not one bit.  Just shut up and redecorate that new restaurant and mind your magazine and hotel. NO RED LIPSTICK FOR YOU!

OTHER WTF: Dolores is so not dressing remotely appropriate for even a detective on the PF. Just sayin. Where's LUKE? Chained up with Helena tickling him? TJ-- like I said after school special. All these ends have to keep evolving and getting to make sense.

FUN PROP: Fronkey Wrapping paper. Because you KNOW they bought it for me!!

A fan had a good idea about going over the vets coming back in the upcoming weeks. Many people don't even remember them! Especially someone like Heather Webber. So, that could be fun.

See the NEW Scoop on Steve and Maggie up on the WUBS Net...
Along with all the other stuff coming up! Ad revenue for the end of the month and into March goes to GaGoo Jammies (see below!!)

MTV is having a Whitney Video marathon on right now. Such a loss of talent. Her early stuff is stunning. "I'm Your Baby Tonight" is so classic cool.

Sunday Surgery: Junior Mint

Oh yes...The Junior Mint. Those of you that are Seinfeld fans know just what I'm talking about. That moment when the Junior Mint floats down...down...down... into the operation! That's exactly how I feel right now--waiting for that dang Junior Mint to fall. Will it change GH forever for REAL this time? Will the patient survive? Be a sweet addition to the procedure? Kill it all together? What!!? Junior Mint anticipation is killing me!
If you haven't seen the Junior Mint bit on Seinfeld, go to You Tube and search. It's worth it.

GH this week--hit and miss. It's got that schitzo feel to it. Kate's big revelation seemed to be to be coming out of left field. And why the hell go to Chicago? Is she really seeing Mulva's husband? hee hee...or maybe going to the place Abby was killed? Chicago seems to be a Wolf-go to place. Ok--whatever. Watching Kate crying about "being Kate" eh? I didn't care. You get shot at your wedding to a mobster and then go  back to him after he totally dumped you (in part) for the "true love of his life"?? You deserve to be messed up.

So! Johnny's reeling from his Daddy/Mama issues. I really wish his scenes with Tracy were longer. She knew the guy-- we even could have had some "The City" Flashbacks? Carly butting in is a twist I guess. I am feeling sometimes though she's being more of a "mom" to him than a potential lover.  Brandon Barash continues to impress though. Smelling an Emmy! Loved the director's touches with the Johnny close ups. Nicely done.

The stripper thing better tie up like yesterday.  I know it was supposed to be Ronnie in the first drafts, and hopefully they stick to that. The reason he attacked Dolores is because she doesn't believe the evidence. Which is stupid btw, because by attacking someone else, it totally makes it look like they haven't  caught the guy. ANYWAY-- I'm hoping this is over soon!!

Speaking of over soon--PLEASE  tell me that the Lady In White is going BYE BYE!! SEE YOU LATER!   Plus, having her in White all the time (still) is driving me insane. Thank GOD Helena showed up Friday. Just slit her throat and get it over with. I really hope she's not Laura's "other" Daughter because that's too tidy. Plus, Genie's not there-- and neither is Tyler!! Parapet time. Poor Nathan Parsons, just when I was loving his easy charm on the screen, he's leaving. wah. You deserved better.

Diane and Alexis. Ok, the menopause thing is wearing thin but I do like my comedy. Why they played strip pool in the middle of a semi-crowded bar is beyond me. But hey-- it worked once, you know GH, TRY IT 40 more times lol! NLG is embracing it so I will too. Good to see Mac as well. Even if his hair did change length all week!

Olivia and Steve. I love Lisa LoCicero--I hate this stupid story. I hate Maggie, don't care about Nashville and think Olivia should just deck her and get it over with. Steve is a whimpy jerk and he needs to either get a personality or leave.  There,  I said it. Take the tanning bed with you.

Ewan. Bye. Don't like you either. Shirtless or not. And STOP with the stupid therapy techniques. (Wait until you see the dang thing he does with Cassandra next week lol)

SCENE OF THE WEEK: Hands down JMB and  TG scene on the Haunted Star. Knocked it out of the park. Awesome dialog--great acting. When she cut her hand and he held it and said "did you hurt yourself baby"?? The look on her face?? perfection. The character of Lulu may grate on my nerves now and again but Julie just hits the mark every dang time.

NOT the SCENE of the WEEK:  Cassandra and Ethan walking around like love birds. ugh. No Spark no nothing---and hey, introduce her to Luke or Lulu. Has he done that yet? Maybe he has and I missed it. I usually nap during their scenes.
SNOOZE FEST
TAKING FOREVER:  JaSam... come on.  That baby is going to be born before she even starts SHOWING! It was SEPT when they were married. If she got PG (by Franco) and they are worried she'd be like almost 5 months now!! First they agonized over getting married forever, then having a kid...now who's kid it is. Thank GOD we find out Monday who the father is. She/He will have them blue eyes!

Some intriguing news broke about Jack Wagner leaving BB and of course the speculation that maybe he'd be back to GH.  I wonder if Kris would come back too--Flea and Frisco!! YEAH!! They'd have no clue who Maxie is! LOL. GH is going to be a reunion fest soon, and looking totally '80's style. The Fund  Raiser is going BOOM in the ROOM and I'm hearing it's Faison. The mob and the police will work together against a common evil.  Anders Hove won't be able to smoke anymore because Disney banned it. Heh..what will he do? Would they let him have those electronic ciggs? Hee hee.
Thank you for supporting the WUBS-- visiting sponsors helps so much! The days of GH are probably winding down now. We'll have to find something in common to dish about. Anna and Starr will hit the canvas soon (separately) and I'm excited for that. Should be an interesting month!!! Have a good week and go get yourself some...Junior Mints!!

Sunday Surgery: Prepping the Patient

Ok... now, take a deep breath-- and know what I say is not a joke: I enjoyed GH this week. Let it sink in. THE WUBQUEEN ENJOYED GH this WHOLE WEEK. :thud:  I know, I know-- what can I say? It had light and funny moments, a great angst storyline playing out in real- time (Johnny) and well, the dialog was  spot-on. You can tell someone said something about the direction of the show.

Yes, I do think that GH is being prepped for the change coming in Feb. Tracy and AZ, and the fact that Johnny's real life daddy is tied to her as well? Awesome. Brandon Barash is acting his heart out. Even though the Claudia Mama Story has holes all over, I even thought that Anthony's explanation of things was plausible. Tracy and Luke laying on the bed eating her 'wedding breakfast' was refreshing and way better than them bickering on the empty Haunted Star.  *sigh* I loved that scene.

Please leave your BAT behind when you go!
Wyndemere continues to be a thorn in the side, especially when they brought Helena back to hide and not say one dang word. COME ON... but!! Cassandra waved that stuffed bat around and all was forgiven. (I'm an easy sell) Who came up with that idea? You'd think I was writing. Tee hee. A stuffed bat is just so perfect in so many ways. Just get Stefan back and I'll be a happy camper!

Scrubs are back on track and Robin's on a drug protocol that is working for the moment. We know something big is coming and we also know her parents show up. That's squee worthy!! I hear Holly comes in (maybe because Ethan dies or goes missing)-- and that is also a GIANT scream because I know this time RC won't limit her to interacting with one/two other people.

Lulu's drinking was really done stupidly --I mean, in the Metro Court surfing the net in the morning? Ummm, ok. BUT! I love that they are not making her a sloppy drunk. Spencers are FUNCTIONAL alcoholics. They exist and I really do like how they play them that way. Maxie coming over with Lulu all ratty was a fun touch too. Speaking of Maxie, I still hate the Matt drama but the new toned-down Spinelli is a treat. When he was watching M&M and waving his spoon around he was adorable.

I missed the day Edward was on and I still have to watch. People said it was good though.

Kate? Ugh.. at least I did have Bob the Badger to watch in some of her scenes. Do I even care who her "mystery phone-person" is? No.
Maurice seems happier  and watching the dimples flash again was magic!!  JaSam continued their mope but there's light at the end of that tunnel. They are using Alexis more and she talked to a new person (Shawn) which was well written and woven into the fact that TJ and Molly were study-buddies. Her menopause story could be done better (enough with the 'flopsweat' jokes) but I can't complain.
BEST FACE EVER!
SCENE of the WEEK: Had to be Sonny telling Johnny about his paternity. Just the right amount of drama and tension, sprinkled with Sonny's glee. Brandon Barash was awesome. Runner up to this scene was Johnny confronting Anthony. Bruce W actually looked like he was acting instead of being Mr. Sarcastic. The whole thing was done well, and let's face it--it was done in a HUGELY timely manner given GH's history of 8 month storyarcs.

NOT THE SCENE OF THE WEEK:  Anything with Michael in it. Sorry but he's on my last damn nerve....PLUS he's whiny!!

Johnny, Angry Johnny...

So, do you agree that GH was better this week or am I crazy? All I can say is I'm enjoying watching again. Not the whole show but a decent part of it. Hey the new guys haven't even started yet. This could get good!! Must See GH? WOWza.

Sunday Surgery: M*A*S*H*

What did I do during the CarJon scenes? Well, I don't know why but she reminded me of Hot Lips Houlihan of M*A*S*H*  Oh she of blonde frosty hair and loins of lust. LOL. Yep, that's where my head was and I'm not apologizing for it. This was all melding into the fact that Johnny is really Claudia's son.  Now, that may have been interesting when Claudia was ON the show...but now? Ummm, hopefully his daddy is a doozie to save this lame plot. I'm going for the guy Tracy was married to which makes him a member of the opposing mob family? I guess? :throwsuphands:
Oh, my other M*A*S*H* Fantasies? Carly (Hotlips) is making out with Hawkeye (Johnny) when Radar (Spinelli) walks in. You know Spinelli could carry a teddy bear and totally be Radar! LOL

Sunday Surgery: High Blood Pressure and A Bypass

Oh what a week. The ups, the downs, the announcements--the sheer upset and joy watching a well written show ride off into the sunset in such a great way.  That, coupled with starting my new job just about pushed me into heart palpitations. In one way,  I loved it. It was like the old days when I'd literally run from the bus to my house to catch the last 15min of OLTL before GH started. I couldn't wait to watch then, and I couldn't wait to watch this whole week. The writers didn't let me down!
Ok, enough waxing poetic about OLTL. This blog is about the other end of the spectrum... the reason for a bypass surgery: GH.

Sunday Surgery: Memo To All Staff

Dear Staff Members:
It has come to my attention that many of you are engaging as what is being known as "Gurney-Gazing". Much like the "planking" fad, I have now seen YouTube videos taken by patients of our staff laying on gurneys staring at the ceiling. While I understand this is a controversial psychological treatment first tested in Sydney, it is also not a proven therapy. This conduct will not be tolerated any longer and I'm putting head nurse Epiphany on Gurney-Patrol from this point on. Please adhere to these guidelines. Thank You.
Monica Quartermaine, acting Chief of Staff, General Hospital

Now that that's out of the way...on to the blog...

Sunday Surgery: Yearly Check-Up 2011

Ah, 2011 came to an end and what did GH do? Redux of the Claudia Birthday surprise (right down to the people trapped in the elevator) and blood stained bodies on the road. No one does it up like our GH writers. If I didn't know better, I'd say Mr. Grinch of a Guza snuck in there and fiddled with the scripts. But that would be cynical of me, wouldn't it? We all know I'm not cynical. At least no one got bashed in the head by a teen wielding a baseball bat. (yet)
AH, 2011 you have to love it.

"Sunday" Surgery: Rescheduled

Tomorrow being the Yuletide Holiday, Christmas or just plain take a day to eat, drink and be merry, I really needed to get the blog up today. I hope you'll allow me a day to reschedule the whole thing!!
This week was very uneven on GH-- Bensonhurst (sitting on that stoop), Abby's death (which became a conversation for rape), Maxie/Liz cat fighting-- Sean's freak-out...Bernie's shooting, Lante wedding, Lucky leaving and Q/Scrubs Christmas cheer.

 BRAVO to Chad Duell!

Poor Liz...what terrible writing they are having for her. Geesh... and we know JJ didn't want to say those lines. LOL..he left FOR REAL because the writers didn't put L&L2 back together.  Having Lucky leave 2 days before Christmas was lame. Just stupid. Like he wouldn't have waited a few days to have the holiday with Cam and Aiden. By the way, that reinforces what Liz said about him "being like Luke" and taking off. The whole thing was written wrong, imo.

SCENES OF THE WEEK: I couldn't choose just one, and they all come from Friday's show!
Lante Wedding: Liked the whole thing. Yes, Lulu didn't have family there but it was still joyful, romantic and even humorous. Loved Priest Tommy. Maybe he can leave the Church and come to PC??  I really thought the wedding would be lame--they proved the cynic in me wrong. See, I can say it. I was WRONG!

Q Christmas: Yes, there were only 3 left...talking about the dead Qs...BUT Tracy made a gesture to go get Monica and Edward gifts that meant something to them. Added fun of Alice saying they weren't from her!!

Scrubs with Emma: Darling!! Robin crying over the land Patrick bought was so...*sniff*  A lot of overshadowing-- which made it even more touching.

Kate, showing Sonny her "skating" moves.
NOT THE SCENE OF THE WEEK: The 400th "talk" SKate had about what they did in NYC. This time it was Ice Skating. Watching them in their "hotel" room describing  their adventures and the old hood was just....borrring.

It may not have been the perfect Christmas show with the story at the hospital but it still was enjoyable. The only thing really out of place was the Lucky in the graveyard scenes. They could have waited until next week for that. I'm hoping the rest of the cast gets some holiday cheer like Maxie and Spinelli, Max...Alexis and the rest.

I wish the best for you and yours no matter how you celebrate. We have a sprinkling of snow here, making it festive and looking like Christmas. Just think, soon it will be 2012--and who knows where we'll be on the GH front. At least the New Year brings new writers and a new EP.  That's reason enough to toast a big one to the future of our show!

Thanks for reading, clicking and commenting. Follow me on twitter @wubsnet or join facebook Wubs Net or Alberta wubs. I wanted to show you a new photo I found from the summer:

Alberta and Kim...thanks to Terri

Sunday Surgery: Viral Load

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Viral load is a measure of the severity of a viral infection, and can be calculated by estimating the amount of virus in an involved body fluid. For example, it can be given in RNA copies per milliliter of blood plasma.

Robin's on her way, folks. As much as I love Kim, I'm glad she's going after her dream of directing. I don't know how I'll feel about Robin's death until it actually takes place. If the story is there, I'll embrace whatever happens. I am thrilled "Anna" will be back and I'm sure "Robert" will come as well. I can't imagine Tristan saying no when there's a new regime at GH. This week was a mixed-bag. On the one hand, I love they honored the Jason/Robin history and friendship but I wish it wasn't interrupted by Franco Fugue States!! *sigh* Abby dying--which I did know about on the  surface but didn't realize how it would play out. More SKate angst in "Bensonhurst"-- whatever. I'm sorry but they needed to be done when Brenda was around instead of wasting months and months with her in "Italy" being chased by The Balkan. Maxie and AZ really had me intrigued, loved their little interaction. More please. The Woman in White? Becoming the White Elephant. zzzzzzzzzzz. Wow. Way to kill any suspense. Ewan is promising, although I wish Jax were around to swap stories over Fosters. Lucky and Liz have gone on too long with this pathetic "break up" -- No wonder JJ said get me the hell out.
Alexis and Jason were entertaining. NLG is fun in whatever she's doing. Even her "Mayor Floyd" scenes made me chuckle.
Dolores/Mulva looks way better with her hair down. That's about all I can say with that.

Random Bensonhurst Lady...best part of my week on GH!

SCENE OF THE WEEK: Michael embracing a dead Abby...Chad did a really wonderful job in that scene and the ones after....I even was a little teary! I also didn't know they were going to show that morgue scene so it was a little surprise.

NOT THE SCENE OF THE WEEK: Pointless Lucky/Liz interactio bitch-fest in Shadybook. We get it. LUCKY DOESN'T WANT LIZ....LIZ is desperate. Let's stop talking about it for weeks. Thanks.  I'm also giving it to the multiple  "Woman in White" staring into space. I don't want to call them "scenes" however. More like bothersome tics.
And..PS THIS character is getting WAY TOO MUCH airtime.

Lante Wedding Photo..guess they didn't go with my dress choices!

The Lante wedding is going to be pretty flat with no one there from Lulu's family. I mean, really. Luke's gone (again) and Laura's still MIA. *Sigh* I do want to see the Falconeri crashers though. Might be fun. Will they serve Lante Cupcakes?

Sunday Surgery: Neurosis and Water Wings

Ok...so, what did you think of this week's GH? Since there were no MAJOR drop-jaw behind the scenes announcements for once, I could just watch the dang thing and not be blogging every 10 minutes.

Why did I like the "Mac Poirot" sequence Friday? (other than it was pretty dang funny) well...
1. It didn't deal with Jason or Sonny's Pain and...2. it didn't deal with Jason or Sonny's pain.
Plus, Mac Daddy was there!! I swear, when they gave JJY the scripts for this week he was probably like, what! Now I have to cancel all my golf games!! LOL
The boat scene was interesting, but no one told the writers that the cops put everyone in the room when they at least have an idea of what/who did it. This was an exercise in pulling everyone out of the hospital or wherever in the middle of DECEMBER  to  go on a boat that...basically doesn't even sway with the water. But, we did get Spinelli imagining each one doing Lisa Niles in-- and Anthony had some pretty fun lines as well. Now Olivia is going back (probably to look for an earring) and Dante catches her! ah HA!
 Dreamy gloves
Let's discuss the other aspects of the show. The PAIN....the ANGST---the overwhelming need to go back to the place you were abused as a kid. I personally think that whole Sonny segment was to have he and Kate get into bed, but that's the cynic in me. I suppose it puts to 'rest' his deep-seeded issues. Maybe now Sonny will really import coffee and start a group for 'ex-mobsters'.  It's weird, but all I can see from the whole "week of Deke" are Kate's gorgeous red leather gloves. Oh, I need help..yes I do.
 I'm mad as hell...and I see Franco.
Jason. Anger-Boy Quartermaine!! How Taggert would love thee!! Does he have a giant Tony-Jones type tumah growing in his head (shaped like Franco??) OR is there another piece of the car--say, the glove compartment still in there? I say it's Franco's ability to be a worm in his head --crawling in and forcing him to be all mad and pissy. Of course, we do have to remember Sam is the real one that deserves her pain-- and she did get a bit by herself while watching the DVD. I think Franco told her that she was carrying Franco Jr. Or, maybe he was dressed as a woman playing the banjo, who knows.

The giant elephant in this week's show? Mayor FLOYD showing up with Diane. Changing his name to Prescott "Press"--get it? and oogling the strippers in Jake's. Um, I do give the writers credit because that info wasn't in any spoilers. He just showed up...which in a way was pretty comical.  If he IS the stripper-stalker it will be the least surprising thing ever.

I have to say it's difficult to watch now, knowing that it will all change after the new guys get to the helm. Giddy with anticipation -- and basically not even paying much attention to the stuff going on until Feb. The Lady in White thing? eh... although I'm happy as heck Helena will be on, I'm wondering if that's even going to go anywhere. Same with "Ewan"-- by the time his face is shown (instead of his abs) we really won't care. Carly and Shawn? eh-- whatever. Michael will have some PAIN soon to deal with so that might be sidetracked. Shawn's getting a little buddy of his own. Jax will pop back in. Luke will still be on vacation and Lucky will follow in his footsteps. yawn.

SCENE OF THE WEEK: I'm going with the cop and Sonny in the old house. I loved that the guy knew Sonny as a kid, didn't recognize him and told him the whole "Deke" story backwards. Sonny's face, when realizing the entire neighborhood still thinks he's the bad guy in the story was awesome. Good use of history and unexpected.
RUNNER UP: The Boat Show...because I giggled a lot and Matt looked like he had a Star Trek shirt on!

NOT the SCENE of the WEEK: I have to go with the one that made me laugh OUT LOUD for real-- and it certainly wasn't written funny. When SKate 'made out' and fell on the bed? I just-- burst out laughing. Not sure why, but it just seemed so... forced, inserted and weird. Sorry SKate fans but it was a miss with me. (maybe if Kate had kept her red gloves on I would have loved it?!)

Who gets a lump of coal for Christmas? Vote over on the WUBS NET!!
You can always hit a sponsor at the top of the page to show some Wub... I'm still looking for a full time job. It's a jungle out there!!

Sunday Surgery: Crash Cart

My hubby calls what's happening at GH  a "re-org"...they have them at Xerox all the time. Managers and VPs switch around, take over--change things hoping for for a new outcome.
Well, welcome to our re-org.

You know I'm a champion of the greatest soap I see right now on TV: OLTL. You also know I love the  writing of Ron C. To have him come over WITH the same EP that did that soap? :THUD: I can't quite wrap my head around it. Guza,  JFP, Frons and  Co. had a hold on GH for so long it's not fathomable what could happen. ANYTHING can happen. ANYTHING.
Ah, that so intrigues me!! There's been a boys-town attitude at the show forever. Women are shrews, abused and shoved into stupid situations daily. Yes, OLTL has their share of strippers, gold  diggers and victims but they somehow have a brain and great character. I can only hope it translates to GH. Don't let FV's statement fool you, he doesn't want to alienate the fans of GH by suggesting huge changes now. They'll work with the frame and then tweek.  I'm also not a fool, to save GH it's going to take a giant act of mother nature. Period-- with Couric coming? We can only hope one of the newer shows in the daytime fails.

There is also going be endless speculation on who's staying and going. Will any OLTL characters be brought over (or actors)??  Wishlists will be all over. I'm sure I'll have mine-- but my biggest wish? That GH gets back to constant, fluid, great STORYTELLING. Everything else? Window decoration. We know there are awesome actors at the ready. Let's get cooking on some great stuff.

The new team is officially coming in January, meaning by Feb sweeps we'll see the big changes. In the meantime, there are going to be a lot of anxious actors on the set of GH.  Old favorites might not be getting the 78,000 hours of airtime as they have in the past. On OLTL the character integration is phenomenal.  There's going to be a lot of budget cutting and fat-trimming as well. It's almost like we'll be watching and waiting for 2 whole months knowing it all could be changed or gone.

FRONS is out!! . In a span of 7 months Guza, Jill and now Frons have left the ABC daytime canvas.  Why it didn't happen a couple of years ago is beyond me. We know the damage that's been done. I don't even think GH is slated to be on a lot of fall schedules. Then again, if a miracle happens and it gets ratings rivaling Y&R?? Who knows... we could all hunt down the Nielson boxers and force them to watch.

SCENES OF THE WEEK: I had to go with two...Robin on the bridge and Monica's freak out with Pat, Steve then  Luke.  Kim was stellar and Leslie was back in her bitchy Monica days. Ah, it was glorious to watch.

NOT the SCENE OF THE WEEK: ugh.. Carly blabbering her mouth off to Shawn about..well, absolutely nothing.
EVEN Shawn wanted her to shut up:

Bitch, please.

The whole SKate in the hotel, out of the hotel..in the hotel stuff was boring too. I loved how they left and then came back to talk about it-- we never saw ANY of it!! LOL.. Tomorrow Sonny will be inside his House O'Pain!! We know Maurice will be great, but revisiting this so far along when it's been done, done, done and without Mike Corbin? Oy.
In the Future: Looks Like LuLu and Dante are getting hitched the week of Dec. 19th with Olivia and Sonny looking on. Awwww. Think Luke will make it? Anyone from Lulu's side? Ethan is going to get trapped in Wyndemere. Liz will be wandering around Shadybrook. Franco should get shot by Jason.
Have a good one! I am hoping this week is a bit calmer on the soapie front. I could use the rest!

SERENA

BLOG FILLER FOR THURSDAY JULY 20th!!  Ok, so we are not talking about this Serena. But I loved Elizabeth Montgomery and the TV show Bewitch...
