Sunday Surgery: OXYGEN!

Image
TAH-DAH!
Why would Wubsy require oxygen you ask? Because GH is so good right now she can't breathe!! WOW!  Many good things happened this week so let's go..

Too excited to eat, sorry!

I know I've been somewhat of a cheerleader for this show as of late but it just has it all. The pacing, the character interaction and dialog have been spot on for me. I realize it's not everyone's up of tea but for now, let me relish the entertainment.

SOAPY GODDESS OF THE WEEK:  Nelle Benson Archer. NBA. Just going around town destroying hopes and dreams along the way. Just like I like 'em.  First came the memorial service. She looked like an old-timey widow from the 1900s in her get up. So perfect. The faces around the memorial? MORE perfect. Who helped her out? Daisy! Of course Daisy did!! LOL
Why did she get out of jail? Who cares, she's out. Ok I'll tell you why. Because she helped with Ryan or something..and overcrowding and Tad Martin Gray... but again..don't care.
PS. I love how Chase always calls her "Janelle"...a touch I really enjoy.

Image

QUARTERMAINE SCENE OF THE WEEK: Brook Lynn newly minted Quartermaine taking control of the meeting and putting Nelle right where she should be; out the door!! Daddy approves, Olivia looked happy and even Grandma Tracy was grinning with admiration

Image

MOVE IN OF THE WEEK:  Nelle is with Brad. Nelle and her "vision board" ... Giggle. Brad looks like he's going to have an anxiety attack any second! She tells Willow forget watching Wiley and kicks her out! LOL Oh more, please.

CHESIRE CAT OF THE WEEK:  She got a new swank car. Staying at CarSon's... pretending to be Dev's Nana and getting him to pay for her coffee and such. She's loving it. Sonny thinks she's a good egg because she found the study for Mike to join. He and Jason are now out of town. Hmmm.. Is Gladys really an evil genius?

Image

GAY ANVIL OF THE WEEK:   Oh Josslyn. Oh Dev. Oh everybody. Ok, so Dev and Joss kissed, he sorta hated it and .... well, he didn't like Trina either so... welp. Gladys was all "OMG my "Grandson" is so cute -- all the girls looooove him." Dev looked ill and tried to leave on the trip with Sonny and Jason but had to go to school.  Now, I do have a bit of a problem with the 'teen-scene' because..well, it's boring. Just do something with these kids already, will ya? Winter Formal is coming--dare I dream?

Image

RETURN OF THE DECADE:  You all know how I feel about this, right? Do you know? DO YOU? Well, it's just so perfect. I've been wanting it forever and it's finally happening. It was everything I wanted it to be and more. Taggert and Sonny both jumped back into the mode of that hate-relationship!! When he called Jason "Anger Boy" I melted and screamed all at the same time. Heh. Classic Iconic Line. AND HE WAS JORDAN'S PARTNER? Welp!. There ya go. I do wish Vinessa was around but maybe this will make me tolerate Jordy more? Maybe? I'm just excited to have him back.

WEST TO EAST COAST MOVE OF THE WEEK: If Ellie Spinelli gets her job, The whole gang is moving from Washington (or Oregon, dunno) back to Port Charles. Which, I think they will be because why else have them show up? Maybe Ellie will get hit by a bus after they move and Spin will be free to be with Maxie. Where he belongs.  Photo credit: @The_WSB

NAME CHANGE OF THE WEEK: Good bye Brook Lynn Ashton...Hello Brook Lynn Quartermaine!

Image

BRAWL OF THE WEEK:  Ut oh. Fightin' in The Floating Rib!! Watch out. Seems that Brook Lynn's  skanky producer shows up and-- well.. he touches her butt and IN A TWIST OF FATE-Dustin knows her!! Dustin defends her!! Everyone ends up just tusslin' and mixin it up!! Dusty knows Brook Lynn. Like Knows Knows her. Was a song writer. She dumped him. Lulu made a Lulu face. Glorious tie-in!
Side note: Her producer gave off huge Marco Dane vibes!

Image

PREVIEW OF THE WEEK: LOOK who's Back!! Question is: Is he back back...or just "visit you in France" back?

SCENE OF THE WEEK: No photo but it's the one with Mike and Jason. Why? So true to life and such an important thing to show for people that live with and care for Alzheimer's patients. Jason calms Mike by giving him ear buds to listen to Tony Bennett. It instantly soothes him and puts him in a place where he's happy. A little thing but I liked that touch.

Alexis looks shocked.

WUBSHELL WEEK:

Neil lost his medical license due to his dilly-dally with Alexis
Nelle revealed she was married to Shiloh in prison and well, she also is working on getting those ELQ shares out of probate
The Q's are not happy
Nelle blackmails Brad into letting her live with him.
Willow is going to be Wiley's "helper mom" but.. Nelle says no way, Jose
Brook's  producer comes to town, tries to intimidate her, bar fight ensues.
Dustin and Brook Lynn had a romantic past.
Nikolas and Ava are flying to France to tell Spencer he's alive
Spinelli says he, Ellie and Georgie may move back to PC
Meanwhile, Maxie is fed up with Nina and may leave Crimson
Robert finds David Beck's file at Anna's. Anna says she found nothing on Peter. (lie)
Liz gives Franco a phone message he left himself when he was Drew (only on a soap LOL)

The week really was full of surprises--big and small! Spinell and Georgie, The Brook Lynn Dusty connection and of course, Taggert coming to town. I enjoyed little moments like Gladys trying to be pals with the teens and not paying for her coffee. Sam still annoyed me to no end but I'll get over it as long as that story isn't on daily.  The teens need to get going on something and I'm still waiting for Molly and TJ. I mean, were they going to get engaged or??
Have a great Sunday. We had a mess of snowy weather here. Back to reality!

  1. personally I think there are too many stories and too many characters. its easy to lose track molly and tj engagement, have not seen valentine, the list goes on. stories need to move faster. could care less about the teens.

  2. There are too many stories and characters. While I do like Real Andrews as an actor and someone that Sonny and Jason can "spar" with he is just another actor. And, with his addition someone else will get less screen time. Robert, Mac, Felicia, Dianne, Max, Milo, Molly, TJ etc etc aren't even seen very often. Why not just use the talented actors that you have and have a good story line? While Nelle is creating some good soapy havoc, she left and I was sick of her. I will be sick of her quickly again. Just let Michael know about his baby and have a "Who killed Nelle?" story line. We all know she should die. Plus, there are so many people now that just want her dead; just all of Port Charles except Daisy.

    1. I'm all for a 'who killed Nelle' storyline. It could be Brad, or Julian, or even Willow, or her mom.

    2. The fun part of "Who killed Nelle?" is that it could be ANYONE on the canvas. Usually is the least expected like Daisy or someone.

    3. Totally Daisy! I found it weird that she helped Nelle because she was so jealous of the woman that were closer to Shiloh than she was. I can see her snapping and killing Nelle in a jealous psychotic rage!

  3. I forgot Scotty. I miss Scotty. He could spar with Sonny and Jason.

Thanks for the SS Karen. I do agree that the show is better now though than it was.

    3. Scotty is the best! And I love Kin too! He's so natural in his role as Scotty!

  4. How old is little Georgie now? 8, 10?

  5. the camera shots with Maxie and Georgie made me giggle - kept showing her breasts with that low cut dress everytime she bent over.
Okay is ANYONE going to believe that CAMERON a teenager, gave his phone to Liz where Drew recorded a message? OR OR is it Drew's phone? Liz said it's Cam's phone though. THAT was the most unrealistic part of the week.
    Hate Nelle.
and while bringing back Taggart, we gotta pretend to care about BOB dying, it's fine.....I think a triangle is soon to follow!
One more confusion - Stella said she flew back 'work related' - HOW can she work at GH and live in England? That was inconsistent too.....

    1. It was 'work related' because Mike used to be her client and she came back to help Sonny and Mike.

And didn't Drew record the message on his phone and give it to Cameron to give back to Franco with the message on it?

    2. Okay - that makes sense then if it's about Mike....
I was hoping it WAS Drew's phone but when she said 'Cam's phone' i was confused!
we still don't know what was in the locker of Drew's in San Diego either.

  6. Thanks for the SS! You so deserve to be thrilled by GH now after so many months and longer of a just so-so soap.
Nelle is shown to be too unhinged to be around for too long. But it wouldn't make sense for them to kill her as she will might always be useful. She is such fun to watch.
Something really stupid bothered me. Trina and Cam outside Kelly's. She was holding her jacket and turned around and wearing it. Just bad editing. I always notice little things like that. Spelling and grammar in the real world too.
There are too many things going on and some characters are left off screen for way too long. Hopefully this will change in time.
Still don't know if we will be interrupted all over the place, but probably:(

    2. I noticed the jacket, too! Someone was sleeping on the job.

    3. Yes, I noticed the jacket, too, I did a double-take. And, I worked as an editor before I was a psychotherapist, so I ALWAYS notice spelling and grammar errors.

  7. i enjoy bringing back characters -- as long as it is temporary. a few days and thats it. in real life, people do visit their loved ones (and hated ones) and only stay a day or two. or come back for a wedding or a funeral. bringing someone baack for a week is great in my book. I hope taggert is just one for a week or two and then leaves. that is REALISTIC. Having him back long term? not so much. just as... would like to see robin and her 2 kids come and visit her parents. for a few episodes, and then leave. but, unfortunately, i live in reality and soaps dont.

  8. Great SS! GH has been really good. Honestly I don’t care about Taggert and haven’t even thought about or remembered him since he left. I’m not a Nelle fan either and hate to see the villains never lose. However, the writing has improved considerably.

  9. Excellent HH, thanks so much! I'm happy that Taggart is back, and yet I don't care about Bob or Jordan. I'm just here for him annoying Jason and Sonny. Speaking of which, this may be mean, but it seems that everyone that interacts with Mike, knows how to calm him down except for Sonny. It's like he doesn't even try and it's all about him and his feelings.

I'm totally looking forward today and seeing Spencer with Ava and Nik! I'm hoping that Spencer is the one person who doesn't go off on Nik and totally gets where he's coming from, and is just thrilled to have him back.

Nell is already on my last nerve. I agree with the other posters, we need a murder mystery NOW!!

  10. Didn't see Roger or Michael In previews for upcoming shows. Hope they are not on the GH chopping block? SS was a good read as usual. Keep up the good work!

  11. Yeh hardly seen Franco since he's been back as his old self. Disappointed. Saw more of him as Dranco. 🙄

Sunday Surgery: Rude Awakening

Such a frustrating week for me!! GH can be so good, then so uneven and just plain plodding along that it baffles the mind. I felt like Thu...
