Alberta's Wonderful Adventure!

How fun for her-- this is her 2nd set tour. Last time she met Badger Bob...this time a lot more of the cast so check it all out! At this rate she's met everyone but Tony Geary. (She met Genie at the Pretty premiere!)

And yes, I was a little teary-eyed about this!! Summer and Dante Fans took Alberta on a set TOUR--and Lisa,  Dom and Ronnie were so great to her!! (They did remember her from Canada).  Well, Berta got her photo with BOB THE BADGER--- you know that I love that stupid prop!! Look at HIS TEETH! LOL.. this is just so wonderful. Thanks so much to everyone for this....even though I can't be there, at least my lobster is!!

Oh, it finally happened.  Their eyes met from across a crowded Rome street set. Sonny dropped a magazine just as Brenda was turning. Then, an older woman caught his eye just as Brenda was running to Sinclair. Oh, the agony. Finally at 3:57pm Friday, they looked at each other. Underwhelming to say the least. I didn't even see a spark in Vanny's eyes. I guess I expecting to see her look a BIT surprised to see ol' Sonny boy standing there.
Yeah, the big Sonny and Brenda meeting happened. To me, it came at LEAST two weeks too late. WAY too late. I personally think the whole Monty Sinclair, Suzanne,  Balkan-Thugs were such a waste of time. For real, do we even care? My favorite part of the whole thing was when Brenda started arranging fruit in her hotel room. The highlight of the week. Heh. As far as this "Balkan" crap goes, all I can do is roll my eyes.  I am glad that Lucky will be some kind of under-cover hit man for a bit. At least he'll be out of boring PC. I'm sure we'll get "Irish" stuff to look at. Pubs? Clovers? Red-Headed Lassies? Given the fake Italian accents we had to suffer through, I can only hope they hire a diction coach for some Eire-Speak.
Discouraged? You bet. Seems like there are a lot of us that are. Ratings for the week of August 23rd were down from the week before.

THEN, its been spoiled he's going to fall into bed with...Claire. @@ Jason's going to go to Rome to "take care of Brenda". Sam's all jealous in Port Charles.  Carly's all jealous in Port Charles (We don't know why because Jax doesn't seem to have anything to do with The Face just yet). Brenda is supposedly due back in town by Sept 23rd. That will be a full 34 days since her return. Even with weekends inbetween, that's shameful. I do hear it will be really "fun" when she does get back to Port Charles and moves in with Jason for protection. There will be a "twist" that involves Jax--whether that's the whole Crimson angle or something bigger, I'm not sure yet.
Megan Ward will be on mid Sept with both Jax and of course, Coleman. Maybe we'll hear more about Crimson then.
I'm trying hard not to be a wet blanket on the S&Ber's parade, but I call 'em like I see 'em. So far...not real impressed.

This week I'd love to send Kudos off to Brianna Brown for her subtle rendition of "Looney-Lisa". She's playing it perfectly I think: a creepy smile here and there... twisting her dialog just enough. Loves it!! Too much wouldn't be as nuts or as entertaining.

Check out Brandon Barash's fun video about his "To Shave or Not To Shave" fundraiser for MDA!! He and Bradford Anderson will be in Vegas this weekend for the telethon. Awesome for him to be at "the big show" finally!! He's been raising funds for years for this cause, and was actually in Buffalo, NY last year. Big step up. Jerry must like his stuff.

GIANT NEWS!! Alberta Wubs was in the Sept 6th issue of Soaps In Depth at the MOCA shoot! Julie Berman was walking down the carpet and Alberta (being held by caretaker Amber), was sneaking in to say hello.  Too fun. She's gotten more press than the Wubs Net lately. NEXT weekend we will both be in Toronto for the Falconeri "Brunch and Ball".  Can't wait!

Looks like yours truly and Alberta Wubs will be heading on up to Toronto for the  BRUNCH AND BALL!  Dominic Zamprogna, Lisa  LoCiciero and Ronnie Marmo will headline a meet and greet plus a brunch and baseball game with the Blue Jays to benefit Children's Wish.  There are already a lot of people that I've seen on twitter that are attending. Hey, this is also the Toronto FILM FEST-- meaning all the stars will be out and around town!
Think about going, tickets are still available...but are also going fast!!

Sunday Surgery: General Hospital: Where Guza Fears to Tread

Oh how wonderful is THIS photo!!? My friend Gwaddie and her hubby were in full force at the FCW, taking Alberta everywhere with them. Sigh... I hope all of you that went had a great time--and got to meet Alberta at some point! I have a half a dozen fan photos of people posing with her lobsterness.

Well, it's the beginning of the end of Francofrenia (sort of, we'll hear of him again, you can bet)-- and the start to the run up of Brenda. At least we know Ms  Marcil (I'm not spelling her new name!) is sticking around for a bit. Perhaps ol' Guza can do a nice story arc for us. We shall see. Are YOU excited to have her back? Will the S&B fan base come out of the woodwork to watch?? ABC's bankin' on it!

This brings me to my latest Guza inspired rant of the week. Let's think about this whole baby thing for a minute. Helena started the entire "Spencer/Cassadine Switcheroo" and then suddenly abandons the idea because of the kid's name. (if you go back and watch the episodes, that's exactly what happens) Well, that's hard to swallow considering it makes no sense but whatever. We're used to it.  Obviously, the story moved from she to Franco being the lunatic and the number 66 having popped up in the brain of our head writer.
Get this: I'm walking the dog today and it hit me. Guza totally missed a wonderful opportunity to tie a piece of his far-flug puzzle together. When Helena is explaining to Nikolas that she didn't take the baby, wouldn't it have made sense for her to bring up VALENTIN Cassadine again?? Yes, it's true that entire story was abandoned --but we do still all remember her being sheeze scared in GH not too long ago. It would have been a PERFECT segway. Even if they are never going to really employ poor Matthew Borlenghi, it would have at least closed it out a bit. Helena could have said "Oh my god, maybe Valentin took him..." gone off to check on that somehow and then Nik finds out it was Franco. Is this too strange to think of on my part? Is it too weird to want to have this once halfway prominate story idea at least acknowledged?? Instead of Helena just being all coy and "I didn't do it"..have her actually be afraid for the kid like she was for herself? The beauty of all this would be that Valentin was connected to Franco-- thus bringing in the Cassadines again.
Ah, maybe I'm crazy. Same thing with wanting Audrey to at least visit Liz in the hospital. Hell, if they can bring Jackie Zeman in for a lame 3.5 second shoot about Ethan's HAND WOUND, they can sure do that! (I'm still shaking my head over that one...I mean, if you were bringing her in, why not have it to be for Luke saying goodbye like he did to the rest of his family??) I also thought Maxie should have called (or mentioned) Felicia when Mac got shot and ditto for Robin with Anna/Robert.

Well, I could go on and on...but! I won't!! Spoilers are coming in for the whole Brenda story..not a lot are confirmed yet. Even more strange are the lack of spoilers in other areas-- well, maybe not so strange. LOL. We all know much will grind to a halt when "The Face of Fashion" gets rolling!! I do think they'll continue the Michael story and after-math of his rape. Yep..rape. Guza even said it. (I knew the HIV test  mention was in there for a reason). I'm also hoping that Tyler kid comes back because I kinda liked the boy.

Jame's Franco's "Fronkey Business" on General Hospital.

I can't take credit for the "Fronkey" moniker.  That was ABC Soaps In Depth on Twitter. It's perfect however...isn't it?? People also think that GH should sell their own Franco-Monkeys. Wind up little guys we can all buy as a little take-away from the circus. (Better than ALL THAT "jewelry" they try to hawk!!)

NEW SPOILERS have a nice exclusive for the Wubqueen AGAIN about Franco--can you figure it out?? Just remember that falling bodies do not equal what they seem. That on top of the Italian connection is going to keep Mr. Villian around for some time. (at least in spirit!!) The Franco info just drifts to me like a magnet. Ahhhhhhh, he loves me, he really loves me.

Wubber FRANK (no relation to Mr. Franco) decided that this George Michael song should replace "Mad World" as the serial-killer's theme. I guess Adam Lambert's royalties were too much for GH to pay this time around. I do think George Michael would love the exposure (wink) and might just do it on the cheap.

Here's the costume I'd like you all to purchase for our Franco-Finale the 22-23rd. What do you say? It doesn't come with cymbals though (@@) so go raid your High School band room, ok??

In other news, the hospital is in lock-down after Warren enrages Michael...Warren then goes on a mini-rampage. (makes no sense but-- whatever). JaSam looks solid for the summer, and when Carly finds out about the Patrick-Lisa hook-up, she's all giddy with power!! She and Paddy get stuck in the lockdown together and she can spill her beans then. Lisa will go psycho slowly but surely. Let's hope it's fun to watch.

OH! Did you see that Jamey Giddens on Daytime Confidential is saying the rumor is that soaps will drop 20 scripted shows on ABC across the board?? That means more "Classic" fillers like we get on holidays. ;/ My solution is to cut them all to 30minutes. Those of you my age know it can work... AND it's way more exciting and moves way faster. I'm just sayin. Save all the jobs, shows and make the writing tight and streamlined.

Sunday Surgery: General Hospital is earning it's Hype!

He's tryin' to kill me. Honestly. LOL. Well, we know Jason gets a reminder of the artist--there will be many more "drops" and "clues" that Franco is alive and well into the next sweeps period. Just hope your Wubqueen can last them out.

Well. WHAT A WEEK, eh??! Good-ness. Some of you LOVED it, some of you HATED it, but everyone was talking about it. From the promos on MTV to CNN (yes, they were on CNN) we saw "Emmy Winner Maurice Benard and New Comer Dominck Zamprogna" clips all over. Lisa LoCiccero screaming "You shot your OWN SON"!! until I was dreamin' about it. LOL. It delivered. From Lucky's HUGE breakdown screaming match with Niz (Written by Karen Harris) we floated into another crisis with da mob (written by Michele VanJean). Good Laws-- it was all intense.
Kudos to all actors involved in this entire story. It's been forever in the making. When Sonny finally confronted Dante, you could feel the emotion. DZ was amazing. Can't wait to see when they finally talk father to son. That, by the way, doesn't let GH off the hook for doing the nasty of shooting a cop in the chest at point blank range. That wasn't lost on me...however, the world of soaps (and especially GH), it did tell a good story. Also, the budding romance of Lulu and Dante is unfolding in a wonderful, natural way. It's a sight to behold.
There's an interesting article/interview in TVGuide you should read about Sonny and the Slammer. Will he go to jail for Claudia's murder?

A lot more to get to. The Soap Cruise is going on right now and did you hear? Bradford Anderson hurt his ankle playing basketball and I think he's in a cast. (thank you Nelson Branco for that tidbit). Fans and Stars alike are tweeting about the whole she-bang. Maybe the Wubqueen will do a Wubs cruise..what do you think? Lobster will be served :)

Spoilers--there's a LOT of them, and they will all be up by noon/est today. We're going to see a revisit of the Lucky/Liz Valentine's Day in the snow eppy...with a twist. Scrubs is going to have some angst over the free-wheelin' Lisa and the fact that Patrick knew about Dante all along.The entire Corinthos extended family will have to deal with Dante. LET'S NOT FORGET: Helena is comin! Yes, there's a Liason scene where Jason will  talk with Liz about Jake.

RATINGS for Jan 18th-24th. It's intersting to note that GH seems stuck at 1.9 and AMC has finally broken the 2.1 spot. It's still the number one ABC daytime soap. Uh...anyone know WHY?! OLTL is hitting it out of the park and GH is as well. Go figure.

Speaking of ratings...Sarah Joy Brown's episode of Castle last Monday gave that show it's highest ratings since it's debut! DO NOT underestimate the power of a daytime fanbase. Also appearing was Senta Moses (Winnie). Here's hoping the are on more guest prime time spots! Sarah reports that she's loving her time on B&B playing "Sandy".  Rick Hearst lent her his cabin in Mammouth and she's spending the weekend snowboarding with her daughter.

That's right! This Saturday, Habitat for Humanity along with Daytime TV, had an awesome plan to have fans donate and bid to build with GH stars a house for someone in the LA area. 14 Stars participated with an untold number of fans. Wubber Gwaddie and her hubby bid with other fans to build with Kirsten Storms. Alberta was along for the ride and even wrote a note to the family that would be receiving the house. In a cool twist of fate, the lady that got the key (Betty) is a big GH and WUBS fan! How cool is that?! Be sure to check Fans Giving Back.org for updates and celeb photos this week.

Gwaddie wrote this about Betty:

Betty is a single mom of three children. She's the proud owner of a brand new Habitat for Humanity house. She's a GH fan. She's a Wubber. She's one of "us". Betty worked alongside the other volunteers Saturday as GH Cast and GH fans gathered to help build a house. For several hours fans and actors worked together measuring, sawing, hammering, lifting. What started as a pile of lumber and nails in the morning was by afternoon, the upper level framing of a duplex. During lunch Betty talked about what her new home meant to her. It meant that her daughter would be able have a bedroom without the pungent odor of mold. It meant that her two older children (both with Autism) would have the benefit of staying in a school district that understands their special needs. It meant that Betty could have peace of mind knowing that her children would have a home, not just a house, but a home for a long time to come.While she has only spent two nights in her new home, Betty was almost more excited to be there with the cast than when she got her new house keys. After all, she's a GH fan. She's a Wubber. She's one of "us". Welcome home Betty, welcome home.

Alberta Wubs has been involved now with the AIDS Walk LA, the Habitat House and will be attending the NYC AIDS Walk in the spring. She's also been to NLG's fan event and will be going to another event in March with Lisa LoCicero, Brandon Barash and others. That lobster gets around!! (she flies everywhere, btw, coast to coast!) Alberta has a fan page on Facebook (Alberta Wubs) and Twitter account @AlbertaWubs. It's a fun way for you to follow her adventures in the World of Daytime Events!

By the way, my ultimate goal? Getting Alberta on the set of GH somehow...maybe in a scene with Molly! Of course, my biggest wish would be to have Helena hold her but that's stretching it! :)

GH this week is a continuation of the the Niz/L&L2 thing...Franco taunting Jason, yada yada. The Keifer story has been languishing a bit, hopefully it will pick up. What do you think of Steven Lars so far? They'd better get AUDREY on, dang it. He kinda just showed up and started work! LOL. Lisa might be getting more of an edge with the recast--we'll see.
