NOTE: I went out last night to a Music Festival and had such a great time, I guess I thought it was Saturday--and today was Sunday. Here you go: EARLY SURGERY! Ha ha.
Oh man. Watching Kristina Wagner at Maxie's bedside was just heartwrenching. We all know her tragic backstory in real life and this has to be so hard. She did such a great job with the entire thing and made every scene so poignant.
GH was fired up this week compared to the last few so we do have some stuff to discuss. We have SUCH great actors and when dialog is on point, you can't beat it. I'm going to dive right in. Grab something good and let's GO GO!
THE DOUCHE FACTOR: Why, who's that you ask? DREW CAIN!! Yep.. Drew's going around town making enemies everywhere he goes. I think the list of people who want to murder him stands at about 25. Do I think he WILL get killed off? Hmmm. I've said it before and I'll say it again: ABC/Disney loves CM. I can see him almost dying and then waking up "the old Drew' because of some head injury. Don't hold me to that but it's a guess. Drew ot only provoked Michael into slugging him pool side and he launched an investigation on our Aunt Stella! How dare he. Drew also told Alexis he entire family was banned from seeing Scout. Willow even hugged his slimy body on Thursday. Ewwww. So many people want to stab him. WHO will it be?
Thx to cdkmkt for this gem of a photo
THE TRACEY FACTOR: Just know she lit into Drew when he told Wiley Michael wouldn't let him see his mom. She just read him and also told him MONICA was going to find out. She also withdrew her support for the ongoing pier vote. Jane was magnificent. Cam M looked shaken in real life lol.
THE MAXIE FACTOR: Maxie faints after putting some face cream on during a Home and Heart show. Yes, we got another dose of Luna giving advice (this time to Brook) and Lucy acting a fool on camera. Maxie goes down and what followed was some really good, sad scenes for all involved. Lucas and Liz save her life and now she's in a coma. Again I don't know how KW gets through these scenes but she's a professional and damn, she just nails it. Bradford was over the top a bit but I did think his shock and then bedside talk to Maxie was nice. I'm sad Kirsten is moving but we finally got some good old hospital drama. At one point I was wondering if the producers fooled us into thinking she would live (KS said she'd be back in Dec). So, kudos.
THE DR O FACTOR: GREAT STUFF: You can see from this scene and the scenes with the kids why I love the character of Liesl Obrect. Sure she's evil and mean but she's also kind and compassionate and extremely complex. More please. I just wish she still had hospital privileges.
THE FIVE POPPIES FACTOR(S): Let's start with the big Shower and Zex scene with Voss. Who among us has not wanted some rumpy-pumpy after shooting, smothering a guy and throwing him off a cliff? Yes, I get the idea behind it (trauma, shared shock) but the execution? OOFFF. I'll spell it out. Neither actor has any idea how to play banter, sexual sizzle or tension. It's just not there. I didn't get a whiff of ANYTHING that made me sit up and want those two together. Sad--because it could be good. Now it's just a mess.
On to JaBritt. I so want to like these two. I'm probably one of the few that thought their story was picking up steam just as the whole Carly mess was starting. Now? Forced. (Although I do give kudos to whoever in the wardrobe department matched Jason's eyes to his suit!!) The first 'meeting' was lack-luster and I'm starting to really hate "foreign' sets on soaps. So fake. Anyway, do I really care what Britt is up to and who her boss is? Nope. I...do...not. By the way, they dropped that Professor angle like a hot potato. LOL. Geesh!!
THE HISTORICAL ROMANCE FACTOR: Well this sure divides people. I am liking the whimsy and nod to OLTL in both names and fantasy sequence. It's something different and beats Lulu and Brook Lyn yelling at each other or Sidwell making some move. Molly finally realizes she likes Cody and Michael urges her to ask him out for coffee. Unfortunately, he's on Ava's lips at the time she makes it over there. Whoops.
THE POOL FACTOR: The only reason to have 2 people arguing this close to the side of the pool is to have one of them go in. Carly pushed Nina in and I was hoping Nina would pull her in as well. Cat fight in the water!! It was comical when Nina got out because she said "How's it going" to Gio who handed her a towel. Heh.
Other stuff:
Maura West can literally do no wrong in wardrobe and make up.
Gio and Emma... please, it's just been forever. They are two twenty somethings trapped in an apartment together. At least have them sneak around.
DO I care if Ryan Pavey is back? I do not. HE DIED. Just like BRITT died. I'm sick of it. When actors leave the show (especially if they are like BYE, see ya, I want out) then to hell with them if they are "dead" and want to 'come back'. Stop it.
I love James and I really wish Georgie would find an old photo of Beta Georgie and be all: WOW I look just like her, right?
Bailey Lu might as well just go the route of Bobby Martin on AMC and that other sister on Family Matters.
Liz was surprisingly snarky to Krissy about Willow and the brakes. I love me a good snarky Elizabeth but...to be on Willow's side? Eww
The Tributes to TR this week were just overwhelming.
That's about it for this week. Again, it did pick up pace from the last few and I was grateful for it. I just really want to be invested into the stories more. Liked seeing Mac again. Lulu and Brook have reached a 'civil truce' so here's hoping that lasts. I'm worried about Outback the doggie but maybe that's what Charlotte is doing. Poor Charlotte.
Found this on twitter. Kudos to the meme person. Although I'm a Nina fan, this is pretty funny!! LOL
Doesn't matter what day it is the SS is a joy to read!
ReplyDeleteIt was a really good week.
I'm on the fence about Molly's new "hobby". Writing a novel, yes, but this seems so hokey. She is acting like a 12 year old.
The dead rising on GH is getting tired. Not saying that I don't like the actors it's just that enough is enough. Must be lots of unemployed actors out there to hire.
I agree about CM. He will get what's coming but will be reborn. Love the above photo.
The WSB is a do nothing organization at this point. At least Brennan has a vocation to fall back on!
Have a great weekend everyone!
I enjoyed the week too. With as much BS is going on IRL, I’m glad to have the show to watch. I choose not to bitch, but to enjoy the show..
