I'm not quite sure what happened the few weeks before these last five days were written but... HOLY HECK! Reset button on FULL or what? I honestly thought Monday I was having a fever dream and... well.. let's get into it. There is so much to unpack you might have to pack yourself a lunch to get through this novel I'm about to write.
Let's GO GO!

ON MONDAY'S SHOW WE LEARNED:
Charlie's was all rebuilt... and Sonny did it!
Danny has been living in the gatehouse and somehow skipping school...for SIX DAYS!
They decide to drop the shooting case against...anyone...so CLOSED
Jason needs to name a new guardian for Danny
There's a new outdoor sidewalk set
One day after deciding to adopt, a pregnant woman basically falls out of the sky at ChaLyn's feet.
Drew is prop of the week
YEP! That was just on MONDAY. I really sat there with my mouth half-open and mostly hysterically laughing at Drew. The thought of how anyone could get him dressed and sitting up like that (he did have a seatbelt on) just killed me. Ezra came in, read the riot act to Willow who is basically deep into her villain mode. The Danny thing was SO out of the blue it was like watching a different show. Plus the fact--come on! I think we'd want to see him trashing that gatehouse and playing Ferris Bueller! Right?? I guess it was all to get Alexis over so Jason could talk to her and Tracey about his will because all of a sudden Diane noticed he hasn't named a new guardian. Tracey and Alexis fight for it and we leave them still wondering because Jason needs to think about it. :eyeroll:
I'm starting a new paragraph here in case you need to take a break. The next thing we need to talk about is the mysterious side walk that popped up. Why you ask? Well it's not only where Chase and Brook are going to find their insta-baby, it's also where Danny and Char have decided to meet and make out. (CRINGE) Yep. So, anyway, Brook and Chase are on a date because Ned yelled at him about liking Willow more than his daughter. So there they are, after talking about adopting when... BROOK SPOTS A PREGNANT LADY LAYING ON THE GROUND. (Pausing for dramatic effect)
A PREGNANT LADY LAYING ON THE GROUND who thinks she fainted from low blood sugar and doesn't want to go to GH but then does because she goes into labor. That is correct. She goes into labor and ...well, we will get to that later.
The entire PCPD detective team and ADA meet with Kai for five minutes and decide that they have no case and they might as well shelve it. So there ya go.
THEN, if you haven't had enough we walk into a totally renovated Charlie's because Sonny had it done for Kristina. The bar that couldn't be saved because of structural damage is suddenly all basic 80's restaurant. I guess there was no other option for Krissy in the work force so, we've got Charlie's back to add to the 99 other places in town. Sonny was also kind enough to redo the upstairs apartment into a studio in case Kristina 'needs it late at night". Or he needs it secretly sleep with his newest lady of the law. I'll just mention this now. Yep, they made ze wub.... they are NEVER GOING TO DO IT AGAIN because "they scratched that itch" (actual line) and... that's all you need to hear about that.
ON TO THE REST: (oh there's way more)
EPT TEST DRAMA: Jordan thinks she might be pregnant and gets a test. In the meantime, Curtis and Portia were going to sell the house but at the last minute he gives it to her because nostalgia and such. (you had to be there). We're not sure but Jordan seems to be happy thinking she might also have a little Curtis running around. She's smiling and looking at the test and that's how we left her. So, I'm thinking nope, it's menopause and she's going to be hella sad about the whole thing. I mean the poor woman's grown son seems to have evaporated and now she won't be a mommy ever again.
ABRUPTION: Back to the pregnant lady. Her name is Delilah and that's all we know. Brook is beside herself because the poor girl is all alone. The girl has placental abruption and the baby has to be delivered. Britt and Lucas get that baby out (nice looking rubber prop baby btw...) and then tend to Delilah who... dies on the table. WHO SAW THAT COMING??!! Not Brook and Chase who are just standing there waiting for a baby, right? Nah. Meanwhile, Nathan goes to look for her purse and finds one under the bench. He says there is nothing in there but I thought I saw kleenex and...?? The PCPD is going to try to find her family if they can. OH!! Also, mysterious tattoo on her wrist was featured during this whole thing so...hmm... another cult situation? We all know that they'll get attached to the baby and start to or actually adopt her and WHAM! Someone will step out of the shadows. Will it be someone connected to that tattoo?
MAXIE/LULU/NATHAN FALLOUT: Even though this is one of my least favorite storylines, it took up enough time to mention. Felicia sees Lulu and Nathan kissing in the GH hall. She unloads on Lulu about going behind Maxie's back, wonders how long it's been happening and basically over-reacts to the entire thing. Lulu gets her sad and anxious face on and goes to finally tell Maxie. Does it go well? Nope. Maxie basically enacts the girl-code and says: I'm not choosing him and you can't either. When Maxie looks at her family photo she has a face on like "I'm doing the right thing"--which means she harbors some big feelings for her seven year dead walking zombie of a husband. (ex-husband). *sigh*
THE BIG SHOW: This was the best part of the week for me. Quite a few people didn't like it for various reasons but I loved the writing, acting and directing. I honestly thought the Josslyn WSB info was going to come out because she was hurt or kidnapped. I didn't expect her and Carly to have a full on blow-out that veered into a discussion about Joss' childhood and the hate she has for Sonny. Carly has been married 7 times to five different men. Four of those were to Sonny and one was to her father for the years 2007-2013. In the middle of all of this, Joss saw what Sonny's life was about, how it not only affected her siblings and her life but that of her father. Carly and Sonny's relationship was dysfunctional (to say the least) and that came from both sides. Yes, she got the real anger when Nina was involved but things were simmering far far sooner than that. She wants to bring Sonny "and others like him" to justice. People are calling her a hypocrite because that doesn't seem to extend to Jason. I'm saying that's for a simple reason: Jason has always treated her mother well. She doesn't see him in the same light as Sonny. Either way, her motives aside, I really liked exploring this dynamic with these two and enjoyed all of the scenes. When Joss pointed out to Jason he was the same as as she is when Sonny recruited HIM, it was just delicious. For someone like me, who grew up in a time when children became their own independent people at about 17-18 it's refreshing to see that someone who's over 21 isn't infantilized. Anna had no helicopter mom around back in the day! So, whether you liked it or not or think I'm crazy, I'm saying good job to these two. That was a LOT of dialog to memorize! (I do think about that when actors have long scenes!!)
One last note: Yes, I think Joss could take down Valentin because he didn't see it coming and probably figured she wouldn't haul off and smack his face after kneeing him like that!! Then again, he DID get out of his restraints pretty easily so she does have a lot to learn.
KITCHEN KINK: Well, well...well. For those complaining about not a lot of lust on the show...here you go!! Valentin and Carly give into some kind of primal urge that I really failed to see all these months and do it right there in the kitchen! The scenes were spicy, I will say that. I mean, I guess it was bound to happen but I really didn't see many sparks that would lead me to want this to be on my screen. Yes, I like them working together but... not sure how I feel about all this. It's obviously to 'seal' them together even more so the caper will have a deeper meaning. I can't help but think that would have been Anna if FH was still around.
TRINA'S NEWS: She sings Happy Birthday in the Surf Shack and Gio talks her into doing Open Mic Night at Charlie's when it's open.
BRITT'S TEXTS: Sunshine Peach on Twitter captured Britt's texts when she was trying to get Jason to their love nest. They are so fun.
WARDROBE SHOUT OUT: I just want to say I loved Lulu's look this week. Carry on.
NEWS AND NOTES: Moss was center stage when Lulu and Char dropped off art supplies for Donna.
Kathleen Gati is going to work on her series Sira and her character is leaving for Seattle because Nina arranged to get her out of town so Nathan could breathe (I guess). I'm sure she'll pop up again.
Nathan Dean (Formerly Parsons) is coming back to Port Charles. I do remember he and Kristina had a thing going and since she's done nothing for ages, maybe that's one of the reasons. He could be coming with his mom who might be saying goodbye to Robert? Hmmm. We shall see. Seems like we have enough men his age hanging around but who am I to say no to a pretty face?
STONE COLD AND THE JACKAL: If you haven't already, subscribe to this great YouTube channel. They also have an account on IG and TikTok. Great stuff. Bradford really knows the show!!
I'm sure you're fully into lunch by now and I apologize for the length of this narrative. I'm not sure what's going on but the reset seems to be full steam ahead and we are in a new 'era' so to speak. Rumor has it that Eden might be out or taking a long break so Joss just might be relegated to Bosnia or something on assignment. The dinner party Sidwell is throwing will put many players in one room at Wyndemere so that will probably be the epi-center of the war on Cold Fusion. How Steve Burton will take HIS break has yet to be determined. Here's hoping he's not presumed dead again because I honestly can't take it. Photo credit: NickatNight/Bluesky
I'm leaving now. I could keep going but with daylight savings and all, it's just not a good idea!
CHEERS!

ReplyDeleteA great SS. I think you and I agree on the good parts of the show this week: Willow's trotting Drew out as a prop, the Carly/Joss confrontation, and the Jason/Joss confrontation.
ReplyDeleteMost of the other stuff, especially the Brook Lynn and Chase finding a baby, was awkward or weird. It's time to get Nathan off the show. I never thought Ryan Paevey could act and his character is boring. I would much rather see a Lulu/Dante/Elizabeth triangle play out.
I always liked Ethan, so I am fine with him returning IF he has something substantial and interesting to do. Having Ethan and Holly around for a bit would be a good way to announce Robert's death.
As a fan of ‘The Pitt,’ when everyone kept saying “bay Jane Doe” I had to chuckle.
ReplyDeleteGreat SS! I agree about Nathan - didn’t need to come back. Watching Sonny try to be sexy was funny! Those days are long gone. Pretty hot scenes with Carly and Val, to make up for the invisible ones with Sonny/ADA and Britt/Jason. Eden showed some real acting chops. Loved the scenes with Britt and Liz - very real and moving. Good week!

Great SS after a very entertaining week. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI am still laughing at prop up Drew.
The babies...Portia, Jordan(?), and Jane Doe. What if...Justine and Carly...I know she is older but it's a soap, can you imagine five? Please no. Forgot about Emma. Lots of zex going on around here after a long absence.
Carly and Val...two characters who have been around for a long time and probably never shared a scene until this recent caper. Nice.
-----really liked Carly and Joss scenes but Joss is being silly....and naive.....her wide eyes were odd.............I STILL say she is gonna shoot Jason accidentally or shoot her mom something BIG and she feels guilty and leaves the WSB (maybe kills Cullum)
ReplyDelete------I was wrong - Brennan didn't know about Cullum.....jason does though....
-------outta the blue Trina singing etc is bizarre....
-------don't really care for Ethan so I hope it's about Robert and it's short stint.
-------yep Jordan is in menopause and gonna feel old....
-------nary a part of me cares about Chase and Brook Lynn
Thursdays show was so damn good Friday just couldn't compare. Wish Val and Carly had more scenes before the deed but I will take it. Anything to put him on my screen. I wish Carly or Joss would have at least mentioned her dad.
ReplyDeleteI may be the only one but I liked Felicia's throw down on Lulu. Maybe its just because Lulu annoys me so much. Also they would have given us a much better scene with Maxie and Nathan if they want us to care about them. She could have thought on this way longer ala soap style.
I liked the Nathan Kristina story back in the day with Lexie. Kristina definitively needs something (or someone) to do. I am tired of Hollie so hoping he comes alone.
The Brook/Chase/Baby mamma/baby story was straight form a hallmark wanna be. Blech.
