SOD reports that Kris Alderson, emmy winning actress from OLTL and now GH is off the show. I'm stunned. She has a LOT of connections on the show, and is seeing Chad. She's also the only girl of that age range on the show.
Maybe more will come out? I hope she wanted to leave on her own. I like Kris-- loved watching her grow up on OLTL. This could be interesting. I believe her contract was up from her OLTL switch over about now. Could Easton be next? Roger can probably pop in now and again.
I'll post if I hear more.
UPDATE: Chad Duell tweeted it was her choice to leave.
I never got over the replacement character things. GH was perfect for me when it was Todd/Starr/McBain/et al. They even teased SkyLo. The characters they picked to replace people with were awful and the show in general has gone so far downhill, only actors pull me back in on occasion.
ReplyDeleteI hope it was KA's choice to leave. I hate Kiki but I've been watching KA for so long on soaps that I just shrug and accept the character.
I have not been shy in expressing my dislike of the character of Kiki (or Starr or Silas or McBain). It was how the character was written, delivered, and seemed force fed to us. While I am not upset in the least about the character leaving I wish the actress nothing but the best.

I Love Kristen and her work. I would not be surprised if she left to go to the Bold and the Beautiful as Hope

ReplyDeleteyou're right Carrie. It was fine when they were Todd/McBain/Starr - the new characters ruined everything. Most of us still think of them as Todd/McBain/Starr. Good luck to KA. Kiki needs to go.

I liked her as Todd's little girl but for someone that grew up acting on a soap I don't think she is that good her emotional scene's always seemed forced to me even before she started dating Chad. I wish her luck and would love to see Silas be next the writing for him is bad I always fast forward
ReplyDeleteI figured once Roger stepped back to do his Flash roll she wouldn't be around long. Her character just doesn't work for me without the Todd/Franco character to play off.

Oh, please, I hope they don't get rid of McBain! I am, and have been for years, a big fan of Michael Easton, but the new characters they dreamed up for the 3 were not a success. Let Silas leave and then let Michael come back as a cop. All they have to do is give him a slightly different name. The brooding doctor thing didn't fit. I don't see how they could let Roger go--he is just too talented, likable and fun. But what a mistake to make him Franco!!

My concern is not so much if the other OLTL imports (Silas and Franco) will also leave. In fact I hate both those characters somwould like to see them leave. My concern is whether the actor who plays Michael will chose to leave if the actors girlfriend, the actress who played Kiki, moves across country or something for work.
ReplyDeleteMichael is final a Quartermaine / Scorpio with storylines focusing on them. Now is not the time for the character of Michael to leave.
In terms of romantic interestes, why does everyone on the show have to be paired up? Then again we always say we want romance. Rosalee is around. There is talk of Sean Donnely's daughter and of Lucy's two daughters coming back to town.
Speaking of "romance", what happened to the girl with Nicholas at the New Years Eve party? Have we seen her since? Is she still riding up and down the elevator looking for love?

If Chad left I'm sure they'd recast him. And probably with a grittier character as they're having Michael grow a spine at last. So I don't see that as a bad thing, although I don't necessarily want Chad to leave.
I can't see him lasting long without KA though. They seem inseparable. Unless they've broken up and are keeping it quiet.
I love KA but not so much as KiKi. I loved her as Starr. I can see her taking the baby and going off into the sunset to raise her while her mom is in jail!
