In shocking developments, Soap Opera Network has reported that Kelly Monaco is out at General Hospital. They are also reporting that her character, Sam McCall is being killed off. SOD and Daytime Confidential have also picked up the story.

Why do they have to kill Sam? I don't understand this. GH kills off too many characters.
ReplyDeleteit's better than continually playing musical actresses. She's lost interest.I've watched years of her phoning it in and they don't really have good stories for her. Let the character go and release Dante.
DeleteKelly has seemed disinterested for many years. It really got bad when they let Billy Miller (Drew) go, who was her boyfriend at the time.

ReplyDeleteRemember when they fired Becky they were forced to hire her back due to the outrage from the fans. I'm not sure if Kemo has the same fan base but she did back when Jasam were up against Liason fans.
DeleteI have never liked Sam or Kelly Monaco, so this doesn't bother me. However, she does have a lot of fans so killing Sam seems like kicking sand in their face. Let her leave town, and give her fans some hope.

DeleteJust a few days ago I mentioned that Sam should go. The character has been left behind with no story and no substance. KM was great early on but in the recent past she has seemingly become uninterested. She would never leave Dante so I guess they have to kill her. Won't be surprised if more big changes come along.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree that she has been phoning it in, however they haven't giving her a good story in years. No disrespect to Kemo, but I do like her temp replacement better although she looks a bit young.
ReplyDeleteI never really cared for Sam, but I never hated her either. I just hate that they are dealing another blow to the "Davis Girls" who (collectively) have been one of my favorite families. While I've always struggled with each of their "personal stories and/or partners", I have always loved the four of them together.

I don't know. Maybe this to serve two purposes: Make the new Lulu and Dante get back together as quick as possible and to prepare the broken bonds between Kristina and Molly through the loss of their big sister.
