Last week was 4 days long and some of it was good and some of it was in true GH style---dropping of a big ball and just rando things popping up.
I'm really getting tired of the character revolving, actor scheduling BS that seems to just leave the show in eternal chaos. Holes were left again this week. More on that later.
Much like GH, A mixed bag of fruit salad is on order today and since I have a Starbuck's gift card, a Dragon fruit Refresher. (I'd never pay full price for one--a grande with black tea is $8!!)
Thx to my 'staff'': Dave, Sonya and Paparazzi Sloan. Ya keep me sane.
This week did not really highlight the "Rocco on the Run" story very much but rather turned our attention to the Jordan accident and Zombie Drew sagas. A bit of Trina mixed in with a 'trip' to NYC and a guest cameo and there you have it. Oh! And yes, Tracey made an appearance. :clapping:
HOLD THE DAMN PHONE: In the most stunning turn of events this week, Kristina GETS INTO MEDICAL SCHOOL. Yep. If you saw it, you've had some time to process that unbelievable nugget of information. If not? Take a moment to drink some of your coffee and steady yourself. Apparently. in her 'off time' Kristina has been studying MEDICINE and took her MCATS. YEP. Those online schools must be amazing these days. Hell, she never even graduated with her BA! Why would she do this you ask? Well, Kate Mansi decided to leave the show and this is what they came up with. See, Krissy really loved how the doctors cared for her after Irene died and well, she just really thought it would be a cool thing to do. I've already bitched about this enough in previous blogs, you don't need to hear more. It's just ridiculous. Yeah, they probably want to bring her back at some point all Dr. Davis but--REALLY? :eyeroll:
CURTIS IS A C*NT: Now sorry to use such rough language but dang!! He's insufferable. He blames the whole thing on Isaiah. This from the guy that stormed into The Metro looking for a fight. But you know, Isaiah hurt his feelings with the 'better daddy comment' and I guess in his mind, "provoked" him into that punch. Not only does he go around bragging about it to Michael, he tries to gaslight Portia about the entire event. Why hasn't anyone pulled a video of it yet? I mean, ADA Turner could have but she was too busy seeking Sonny out in their love shack.
TRINA'S TRAUMA: Sigh...her Dad punched a guy and now she's not sure she should be out there singing. It's hard for a girl. So, she talks to Gio who is now the 20 something Sage of PC. He talks her into doing it. You think we'll actually see this 'showcase'? BTW, Trina should be knee deep in the Art thing with Ava. Not sure how but damn it, get her in there.
SYRINGES OF DOOM: Thank goodness some of this included the delightful Sidwell just being himself. Coming over to Willow's and calling Drew a potted plant was just the highlight of the week for me. We NEED Sidwell.
BROOK LYN'S FOREHEAD: She's just SO worried all the time. The accident, the adoption and now she catches her husband in Willow's clutches. At least she read Wills the riot act and told her to stay the hell away from Chase. She has something else to get all angsty over: Michael figured out SHE was the one driving that night and left the scene of the accident. How? Oh, her car door was rattling. Yep. Don't even ask. Anyway, he's thinking about telling Chase because Chase 'hates liars'' and he'll leave her and run to Willow. This will break Willow's "career in politics" and... I guess let him have the kids? Bonus points for ruining Chases' marriage because he hates the guy. Two things wrong with this: Michael might be ruthless (now) but... to do this to his own cousin knowing it would totally mess with the adoption of baby Phoebe? HUH? I mean if the baby wasn't a factor maybe I could see it. Maybe. Having the truth come out via Michael isn't a great choice imo.
ARTSY FARTSY: I was looking forward to a little girl talk on the place going to NYC but it was not to be. Sparing no expense, the set people turned Ava's Art Gallery into some 'swank' Manhattan one by switching out the art. Such a lame attempt. Sorry but sets are important to me and that was just sad. Maxwell Caufield's cameo was ok but his wife Juliette Mills would have been a better catch imo. We find out he did indeed employ Delilah (which I guess the PCPD couldn't do on their own) and that Ethan had a photo taken with her at some point. Ava and Alexis realize they have some juicy information and leave. What the tie is to Ethan-Apollo-Delilah will take ages to tell.
LANTE: I smell a set up of sorts. Anyone else see them getting together on the page of getting Rocco back safely? I sure do. Sonny tells them to stay put and he'll take care of the rest. They even hugged at the PCPD. Rocco uses a code phrase to assure them he's fine and Britt did NOT kidnap him.
IN THE BUFF: In a little comic relief, Suzanne caught Molly and Cody in a moment of heated passion. She loves Molly's book and Cody's bod.
THE GIANT HOLE: I'll go first: Nina doesn't inject Brennan at the end of last week's show. HE COULD TALK AT THAT POINT, remember? WTF happened? We find out he was taken to Turning Point. Um, did she tell Willow? Did he ever get another injection? This is just infuriating storytelling. That should have been THE major thing happening when we returned on Tuesday. Again, nothing all week. Did I need the Charlotte goes to Carly scenes? Nope. Did I NEED to see the next step of whatever Nina is thinking? Hell yes. Even IF they revisit it through a flashback or something, the time that has passed just dilutes the content.
OTHER GOINGS-ON
The new guy Joe, got to search Britt's room over Kelly's. That's about it.
Ethan and Tracey forge a partnership because apparently, Sonny doesn't pay him enough
Valentin and Carly get it on because hell, he's in her attic and what else are you going to do?
Sonny's still ramblin' around trying to 'take out Sidwell' and is calling Brick about Rocco ugh
Ric is upset Liz is in GH. They kiss.
Sidwell realizes that Lucas doesn't have an alibi for the night of Marco's murder
Trina tells Gio Joss is off in Australia. Ok.
PS. We never saw Joss all week
IT HAPPENED OFF CAMERA:
Dr. Gannon tells Derek's family he can't operate on the boy which was probably some good heavy hospital drama. But... you know.
Curtis is arraigned.
Brennan is moved to Turning Point
If you listen to Bradford Anderson's podcast "That's Awesome" or follow him on IG (@StoneColdandtheJackal) you may have heard him talking about scheduling and how so many actors live outside the "Thirty Mile Zone of LA and have to be brought in to basically block tape. Most of our weird editing questions probably stem from this. See, in the GOOD OL' DAYS...if you were on the script, you were in the studio taping. The scripts dictated the actors' schedules not the other way around. I have NO idea how the head writers stitch that story quilt together when they need to figure out who's where and when. I realize it's the state of the industry now but it doesn't bode well for stories. People are on 2-3 days or a few weeks, then their character disappears or pops up at rando times. We've had breaks for FN and SBu-- and now they are due back, but when? Does the story shift again?
Ok, that's enough from me!! It's harder and harder to come in for an hour when the weather is turning so nice, isn't it?! I am still trying to watch in real time but between the great outdoors and all the commercials on ABC, it's making life tough!
