Sunday Surgery: Hell Breaks Loose

 

So, GH was bookended this week by two great episodes! I was wondering what the cream filler was in between but by the end of Friday, I didn't care. I almost skipped Friday due to a migraine and I'm so happy I didn't!

BROADWAY:  Monday was the Michael James SCOTT show and for once, I liked something GH put on! I thought it was jazzy and he was certainly a charming, natural actor in his scenes. It could have been done last Friday but I wasn't mad. (shocker, I know). Once it was over, it was over. Things just got rolling into the stories.  

POP-- UP VALENTIN:  He was just all over, hiding then WHAM! Out with his gun! He stood there so long Monday, I was afraid for his arms!! When Brennan burst into Carly's bedroom, it was a screaming match about who she was sleeping with. Brennan made many mean faces. Then, Ol' Val came out and the whole thing clicked into place. Carly laid into Jack about Josslyn and lying to her and the whole ball o' wax. Laura Wright was fantastic in her scenes.  Valentin let it drop that Cullum is a double agent. Jack slowly simmered and realized they were going to try to blackmail him into joining forces. We have to wait until Friday to see all the fallout from this but it was worth it!! More later in the blog....

KNOCK-DOWN-DRAG-OUT: Holy heck!! Cassius and Josslyn had a FIGHT! Usually I'm laughing at GH fights but lately they've been choreographed really well. Joss gives it a good go and even manages to get a knife. Unfortunately for her, Cassius is just too strong and flips her over the couch. THEN he puts her in a ninja choke-hold and she passes out. WHOOT!! For a Monday this was a "thrillah in Manila" !! 

TRAPPED LIKE A RAT:  Josslyn wakes up in the room where Anna was held. She freaks out and tries to escape using a hanger. In walks Cassius. Guess what. He tells her who he is!! We didn't have to even wait ONE day! Joss is shocked. Cassius gets his Cassadine face on and basically tells her she's in there until further notice. Will she find Anna's journal she was writing? Maybe there's a note in one of the hoodie pockets. We shall see. 

POOR PASCAL:  Over at Wyndemere, Pascal finally has a show-down of sorts with Lucas. Lucas is snooping and is caught by Pascal. They have heated words until Sidwell and Ava show up. Then he gets the call from Cassius to come and help him 'clean up'. We all know that means transporting a body to the Chamber Of Anna. Bet that was a long boat ride!! 

BROTHERS IN ARMS:  Ric is trying to get his ish together, I truly believe that. He asks Liz to The Hudson Valley for a weekend and she accepts. Then, he gets a lecture from Laura about Sidwell and knowing about her crimes and leaving Liz out of it. Um, Laura.. mind your business. He's your lawyer and CAN'T tell her the truth!!  Sonny freaks out when he catches Ric in a lie about where he was and runs to not only ADA Turner to whine about it but Alexis as well!! They both tell him to cool his jets but you know Sonny, he has to confront Ric at Ava's Gallery because he's a paranoid mess. I think we all know that Ric was buying art for either Sonny or Liz and this will blow up in Sonny's face. (Hopefully before he blows up Ric!) My main concern is that Ric won't forgive Sonny and their stupid 20 plus year fight will just go on..and on.. I was really really enjoying the two of them joining forces. I can only hope this is a bump in the road. 

ETHAN THE ENFORCER:  Well, he's no Jason that's for sure!! I wanted to smack him several times when he was telling Sonny tales about Ric. BUT!! Then.. the Tracey scenes came along and while he was at the Q house, we find out he was partners with ol' Delilah the mother of Phoebe. Many of you guessed this. I really was leaning more toward the whole Sidwell angle so kudos to you all. Later, Ethan pulls out a Polaroid and talks to Delilah about her baby. Cries a bit as well. No, we don't know if he's the daddy or not. He did seem to take the news about Brook and Chase adopting her rather well. I have a feeling Delilah was running from the father (some criminal mastermind) and called Ethan for help. Also: She did have a list of Art Galleries in her suitcase so I'm hoping this ties in with Ava's Gallery??? Please!!? 

NINA and THE NEEDLE:  Oh boy. Nina was something on Friday, wasn't she? Holy heck. First she's just a guilty shaking mess trying to inject Drew with this next dose. She's interrupted twice and then manages to mess it all up when Brennan comes to the door.  They talk about the tape and then she freaks out to the max and yells at him to LEAVE PORT CHARLES!! At first I couldn't figure out what was going on and then... OUT POPS VAL!! (see above). YEP, when he called Nina he wanted her to lure Jack to the house so he could ambush him about Josslyn. Brennan is all: WTF are you talking about. Then we are treated to yet another gun-tussle complete with a screaming Nina. What happens next is the stuff of soapy greatness. Nina grabs that syringe and plants it right into Brennan's back. Giggle. Oh I was hoping that would happen! Even Valentin is shocked!! WHAT will they do with his immobile body!? Squee.  Oh, by the way on top of all of this, Drew is starting to move his finger! He was overdue for his dose and well, he had to come out of it all sometime. Also remember, he's heard every word between the three out in the living room. You know he'll use that to his advantage! 

ELIZABETH AND DANTE:  Oh how I loved all of this. Remember, Elizabeth has been doing some underhanded things since the days of Silas so I wasn't surprised she would help Dante. We have to have a hospital connection to get certain things done and I'm happy it's her. The Rocco information finally comes out and I really liked the scenes in Dante's office. Made perfect sense that Liz would know a side-cut wound and she wouldn't say anything because of her ties to Lulu, Rocco, Jason and yada yada. When it slowly sinks in to Dante that his son is knee-deep in this, you can see his wheels just turning. Kudos to Becky and Dom!! WHY can't we have these two at least try things out?? I mean, we had those sizzling Ric and Ava scenes ...just switch it up! Thank you!! 

OBGYN INSERT: I'm putting this in here because it was SO rando that it has to mean something. Emma has her annual check up and the only doctor that can see her is Britt. She finally lets her do the exam and we find out her birth control has been giving her headaches (or so it seems). Britt suggests she switch pills and see if that helps the situation. My first thought? Oh no, switching pills means... pregnancy? My second thought? Oh no, headache means... brain tumor. As you can see, I've been watching soaps WAY too long!! 

PROP OF THE WEEK: Wiley's truck! At first I thought Nina would forget the syringe or something and Wiley would get a hold of it. Then I figured out she was going to stab Brennan. Oh the deliciousness! My next question: Where you moving him to??!! 

THINGS TO KNOW: 

Cassius has Joss locked in Anna's room and she knows his true identity

Sonny thinks Ric is double crossing him and holds him at gunpoint

Carly confronts Brennan about Josslyn and Cyrus and the whole enchalada

Brennan is lured to Drew's house by Nina, Val comes out, all hell breaks loose and Nina injects him with Drew's drug 

Dante finds out Rocco has an injury that is consistent with him firing a gun. 

Pascal confronts Lucas, Lucas goes all over town to promote different storylines

Ethan knew Delilah, is happy the baby is safe and burns D's photo while crying

The car accident is still on Curtis' mind and it's driving everyone crazy. Yep. Every-ONE

Cullum is released from GH. Cassius freaks out and tells Lulu to get Rocco out of town. Lulu refuses. 

Trina is going to give the showcase a go with Brook Lyn's help. Gio agrees to play the guitar for her

Molly and Cody are going on her book tour this summer. They tell Ric who approves

SPECULATION: Here's my speculation on the Art Deal. I think Ric ended up buying something that will tie into Delilah's list about art galleries. Just a hunch. Could be forged art (that Ric is unaware of) or some stolen piece. Just a hunch. 

SO much happened this week, I couldn't fit it all in! I urge you to watch Monday and Friday's shows if you haven't already. I personally would have liked things to happen closer together but I'm not a showrunner so what do I know? It feels like the whole Cold-Fusion thing might be ending and with Finola due back, maybe it will!! Drew's moving too!! Squee!! HOW will they spin all that mess?? Remember that Sidwell is also a part of that whole thing so he could turn around and threaten those kids in an instant. 
The biggest clunker is the Jordan's Face Story and I'm really hoping it concludes soon. I'm afraid we will have an Isaiah accusation and 'arrest' and Brook will feel terrible...and you know the rest. On and On it will spin. 

I'm enjoying Lucas so much !! Even in a throw-away scene like the one with Felicia, he just shines. Laura Wright really delivered for me as well as I loved the scenes with Brennan. I know many aren't thrilled with the Trina singing story but I'm willing to see where it goes if it means Tabyana gets more airtime. 

GH has a lot of faults and can sometimes be baffling with the edits and filler but when it's On POINT...it's on POINT. I was grateful for the distraction this week my stories brought!
