Sunday Surgery: BOGEY

I tried to find a golf term for this week because I really need to talk (again) about the lack of follow through on this show. It's getting to be SO maddening!!  The other word would be: chaos. A lot happened but it was a messy watch.

Granola and fruit might be your best bet for today ...and a strong cup o' JOE!!

Let's GO GO!

THE FIGHT:  So, on Friday we left Isaiah down on the ground with his arm hurt. Monday, Curtis is at the PCPD after being arrested by NuCop "Joe" and is whining it was all Isaiah's fault. Meanwhile, Isaiah is in GH finding out he has 11 broken bones in his hand and a bunch of tendon stuff going on. We leave with the camera on his stunned face. Later, Joe is concerned that Curtis is 'too connected in town" and tells Dante he might not stay on the force. Dante assures him that the PCPD IS NOT CROOKED and how dare he. Curtis then waltzes out because...I guess his bail hearing magically appeared in the 2.3 seconds off camera. Jordan with the scarf helped with that. Then... well, no follow up on the hand situation or Curtis finding out he may have ended Isaiah's career. Also see: the kid waiting for that liver that Isaiah was going to operate on. You know, the one we saw once, then a few weeks later was all of a sudden Curtis' priority? *sigh*

THE GIRL IN THE BUBBLE: Joss is in that room, playing Gin Rummy with Cassius (can anyone tell me the fixation with cards on this show?). First she tries to mind-psyche Cassius and when that doesn't work, whams him in the face with a chair. He gets up and stops her from going. BUT WAIT! She shows him Anna's message behind the bed!! He knows Anna was there but that's about it. Later, Joss finds shards that Anna wrapped up and put in the mattress. That cleaning crew is hella bad down there.

THE SAGA OF ANNA:  It seems Anna escaped from her care facility briefly and then stole a car. The one good thing about this day was that Mac was on for a hot minute! They deliver the news to Emma who is crying over a mug she made for Gram at age 10. They tell her Anna's going to a criminally insane prison in France. People cry more. Laura gets the bright idea to ask Willow who seems to have turned into a diplomat overnight. She gets the charges dropped against Anna, she's back in her original place and can be free when her treatment is done.

THE GUY IN THE ATTIC:  Valentin learns of Anna, gets upset and Carly gets all jelly. BIG JEALOUS. She seems to forget that Jason is HER Anna and she'd do anything for him. Val wants to go to France to save her but the teens interrupt that because ... they are teens.

THE TEEN SCENE: Rocco continues to freak out over the shooting and Charlotte and Danny bring out out a doofus plan to go to Wyndemere to get "evidence".  Rocco tries to tell them he will tell on them if they go. They do not care. Taking Jason's speed boat from the Q's, they ride over to the island. What do they hear when they get there? Just Britt talking about the entire plan to get the Cold Fusion on line 'tomorrow' and see her getting injected in the stomach by Cullum. It was very handy to have those French doors open a crack!! Do they leave to go get the police or something? HELL NO!! They sneak in, talk in normal voices in the living room, then galivant down the hall. Who catches them but--Cullum! By the way, if Char knows that place like the back of her hand, why didn't she go through the tunnel entrance in by the fireplace? Anyway--Cullum threatens them but Sidwell and Ava walk in. Ava calls Alexis and it's all sorted. Danny's in trouble again and Charlotte disappears into her bedroom or wherever she goes when they don't want her around.

THE ROCCO MESS: Now, all of this IS tying together but getting there was a long and winding road. Lulu decides Rocco will have to leave PC and gets Ethan to gather them up fake passports. Dante's over arguing with Cassius about what to do and Rocco is out getting Laundry Detergent (yep!). When he gets home, no one is there and he takes the passport. "Tyler Anderson" then goes to Britt...his 'birthing mother" to get some advice/help and to get out of town. Can he go with her?? Britt says OF COURSE NOT! But, then she says ok after a lot of crying and pleading. Just as they are about to leave, Elizabeth comes in and gets clocked in the head and put in the closet. (Dante will find her later). In the parking lot, Britt calls Sonny to tell him about Sidwell killing Dalton -which is really OLD news and destroys their phones. Why she didn't tell Sonny that Cullum killed Marco is a whole other mystery. I mean... um... ?? huh? So those two are out on the lam and...we shall see. How Britt will EVER have a job after all of this is anyone's guess.

THE GUY THAT CAN'T MOVE: If you tried to follow this story this week you were spinning around like a top. Nina was busy having lunch with Ava, acting all nervous and finally goes in to give Brennan his injection. He opens his eyes. Do we get a follow up the next day? NOPE. It takes another 2 days to realize that Nina must have gotten spooked by that and didn't do the deed because she's back in GH with Willow to finally inject him. BUT! Her plan is foiled first by skulking Cullum and then Jack actually being able to talk. Well, Nina can't do it and tosses the needle in the bin. She's all of a sudden SO concerned about Jack and feels SO badly her usual cunning nature is just turned off.  I smell a deal coming between the two of them.

Japan!

THE ART:   This is going to sound simple but my fave part of the week was thinking that Ava and Alexis might team up over the Art Mystery!! Yep. Two great actresses doing something intriguing is just the ticket. Maybe they can include Trina? Please? Alexis finds out that the tattoo Delilah had on her was the mark of a Japanese Artist who was also shown in a gallery in Manhattan. The Gallery was on the list found in Delilah's bag. In the meantime, Brook is still getting her guilt face on over the accident and worried she'll be found out. We all know she will, just not how long it will take. AND-- will that art tie into Elizabeth's sketches?

THE CONFRONTATION: Pascal finally pops up again and gets in Lucas' face. He's wearing Marco's tie and Lucas doesn't like it one bit. Pascal blames Lucas for Marco's murder and Lucas rightly points out it's Pascal's ratting out of Britt and the meds that got him killed. Good scene that really didn't lead very far. Pascal must have an upstairs attic room because we never see him much.

OTHER THINGS:

Laura gave her blessing for Lulu to pull a Spencer and leave with Rocco

Ric and Liz went on their Hudson Valley Vacation--seemingly overnight.

NuCop Joe is suspicious over the PCPD and I'm thinking someone he knows was wronged by Curtis back when Curtis was on coke and working as an officer.

Ethan held Baby Phoebe, making us think the link between them could be stronger.

ADA goes to SONNY to talk about Curtis' case. Asks for his advice. This takes place in their love nest above Charlies. I laugh.

Sage Sonny also gave Gio some life advice but it was so boring I forgot what it was about.

A funny: They "blacked over" the Mercedes logo when Britt was driving the car.

Nina was a responsible criminal and put the filled syringe in a hazmat container

QUESTIONS:

Why didn't Pascal tell Sidwell about Joss being in the basement? He helped move her and isn't loyal to Cassius so..? What's that deal?

Why were Molly and Krissy on Friday's show talking about how wonderful Cody is? I felt like she was either going to be told she was pregnant or Cody was going to die. Weird.

Where the hell is any security at Wyndemere? They have Cold-Fusion stuff going on and....nothin'

Is Liesl out at some conference again? Because... she should be knee deep in this.

Is Cassius  good guy or a bad guy and why don't I care?

INFORMATION: Britt did not run over both phones-- and I suspect her phone call to book the flight to Berlin is still on hers.

RUMOR:  Ryan Paevey (Nathan/Cassius)  is leaving GH again. He just joined The Great American Family Channel to film "Christmas in Moose Lake" . That doesn't mean he's leaving GH but has put that question out there.

So most everything happening this week was important and there were a lot of  'got cha moments' but I feel like GH is a huge spinning wheel; I'm waiting for the sections to click in place and it either takes so long or is so choppy, I just can't quite give it a glowing review. The editing certainly needs work for SURE --because one night lasted about 7 working days and then --BOOM next day with cliffhangers around. We never did get to see Willow/Michael/photos/office ending (if there was an ending)--and Nina must have left Jack hanging from the opening eyes scene. I'm also feeling like they have no clue what to do with Kristina-- oofff, she's just around at he weirdest times. The ADA/Sonny story is also just making me giggle. I feel like they are teenagers with a secret love-nest or at the very least 2 people having an affair behind their spouses backs. Neither one is true. Valentin is in the attic--Drew is in the bedroom--Joss is in the chamber--now Brennan is trapped in GH. So many people not moving around the canvas. Anna bet get home or rescued soon. It's just teeww much.

That's all I have for you today!! Hope your weekend wasn't as soggy as mine!!

  1. If you don’t think GH is moving very fast, you should watch some of the other soaps. They go at a snails pace and aren’t very interesting.

  2. Curtis has changed so much for the worse. Once likeable now not so much, he can be a jerk. I watch young and restless and enjoy Matt (Roger Howarth) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford). General Hospital is the best soap and I don't understand how the CBS soaps rate higher.

  3. Excellent SS! Thank you.
An art gallery mystery has been a long time coming. Let's hope.
However long the stories drag on GH has a big continuity problem.
The other day I asked if anyone recalls when the last time a story had a solid conclusion. I thought it was back with the Erica Slezak fake sister arch. Funny that one of those episodes is the rerun tomorrow.
I love Britt and Rocco. Rocco and the laundry detergent made me laugh and immediately think of BTG where they are often plugging P&G's products. Especially laundry detergent.
Speaking of BTG...it too goes a bit slow sometimes but it has a great balance of light and dark. They don't have a million things going at once. Much less chaotic than GH.
GH is like blowing up a balloon until it pops and then there's nothing. Over and over again.

  4. BREAKING NEWS: Kate Mansi (Kristina) has decided not to renew her contract with "GH." I think it's a mistake on her part and I will miss her, but hopefully Lexi Ainsworth will return.

  5. ---last week of sweeps, so again i am dying on this hill that things are about to come out/explode concerning Sidwell/Cullum/fusion etc etc -----especially since so many people know.
----but I also think we will see Anna next week BY THE WAY Already bought my ticket for zoom August 2 - Carly, Anna and Valentin...
-----I'm not happy that Britt and Rocco will probably be on the run until JASON finds them in August.....sigh.....so many things: Britt can't work at GH again, what about Charlotte and Danny finding out what Rocco did? what happens when Sonny and Laura find out it was Rocco?
-----CULLUM IS ALIVE AND HORRIBLE - I hate they make it like Rocco can't get past the man is FINE
-----I hear Curtis is arrested and they have made his character so horrible, I'm okay with it but i still don't think it was Brook Lynn's car.
-----Nina and Jack - okay then. but this Drew and WIllow crap is soooooooo past due ending......
-----I wanna be happy with GH but the editing is horrible and just when I care/something changes or isn't on screen

  6. since Michael Fairman confirmed Kate is leaving, I believe it. I don't care for Kristina one iota so I am glad she is leaving - she does nothing....NOW how they write her out will be intriguing.

    1. I like the actress. The initial plan for her to open a place for troubled youth had promise. And then they just let that go and gave her nothing. The cast is too bloated. Everyone can't have an important part. I can think of many who should go instead of her but I think it was she who decided not to renew her contract.

  7. I wonder if this is the reason why Nathan Dean was brought back as Ethan -- reconnect his character with Kristina, have a storyline about him getting Baby Phoebe back and then he, the baby and Kristina leave Port Charles and ride off into the sunset as a little family.

  8. I wouldn't mind the snails pace if it was consistent and good. One day I re-watched the story line with 7 year old Robin in the hospital in shock and couldn't talk about her Mom and the Asian story. It drug on FOREVER, BUT it was SO GOOD that you didn't care. The cast wasn't bloated, the writing was great, the acting was great, the editing was great. Sorry, but there is no excuse in this day and age for bad editing

    1. I bet Kate is leaving because she wants to direct.

    2. I read an interview where she said she has a few projects she is working on and her husband is doing something that will have him traveling and she needs to be free to go with him. I wonder if they will recast the part again.
