Vintage GH-O-Ween!!

First off, I watched 30 min of yesterday's GH -- and LOVED Britt!! What fun. Talk about comic relief. She was just dropping bombs all over-- and Lulu with the Margaritas!! I loved it when she said "Kind of hard to picture her and Faison together!! 

You know Mary Pat's not long for this world..not with that hook coming at her. Carly's DNA is probs all over that lady! 

I can't believe I'm going to miss today but it's the end of the month, Halloweenie AND my kid is moving Thursday. It's apparently also time for my first stupid HEAD COLD for the season. Late in the game for me, but bad, bad timing!! 

OH!! "Dante" is back.... DZ tweeted this yesterday-- will he give Lulu the KISS OFF? Or is it going to be a good visit? Maybe they are filming Thanksgiving?

Comic Relief

Send in the Clowns...

It seems like every GH generation has had one. Sometimes two. And that is the Comic Relief character. It’s the character that breezes in a scene, acts kinda goofy, steals the scene and then breezes out. When compiling this list, I noticed a pattern of the characters. Most of them (not all of them) possessed a vulnerability of loneliness. Sure, some of them did have a significant other in their lives, but there seemed to be an air of loneliness among them. Was there any subtext that the comedy was a mask for tragedy? (get it - comedy and tragedy masks in theatre?) One thing that rang true throughout all of them was that the comic relief character always had the biggest heart on the scene. There was always an unconditional love with the people in their orbit. To paraphrase Stella Dallas, these characters “gave and gave and gave until they couldn't give no more” (I think it was her who said that. If not, someone did and it was a great line)

Comic Relief characters, although written as such, are sometimes unintentional. Amy Vining and Lucy Coe are not your typical CR characters in the same vein as Spinelli. But both of them, in their moments of hyperactivity, displayed a lunacy that was all their own and brought new life to their character and the scene.

With Karen’s help, I came up with 9 characters that I feel could be listed as Comic Relief. I am sure you will agree with many of these. And probably debate a few as well. But the beauty of the Wub Tub Time Machine is that YOU get to comment and discuss and contribute to the blog. So, if you have some comments on today’s blog, please share with the group and let’s all look back together.

PS. As lists are subjective, these are NOT in any order. And is it a coincidence that Lucy Coe is tied to so many of these characters?

Margarita Night at Floating Rib!!

Sam and Jason.. "talk" to each other while "talking to the camera" in their heads. WEIRD SHIT And come on...SAM HAS DEAD CLUMPS OF MOSS on her coffee table? WITH TODDLERS..or however freaking old her kids are?? COME ON. Jason wants Sam to be honest with Danny about his past. 
Instead of saying "Sonny murdered a guy on orders at 18" JaSam basically said he deserved it. They read Janette's letters, she's the one that asked Scully to kill Mr. Marino..so now she's incriminated in ordering the hit. 

Curtis and Jordan trying to do the seating chart. Blah blah..blah. 

Sonny talking to Michael about stuff and Margot walks in. Sonny's like "she's out to get my head"... Sounded kinky. 

Kevin finds out Laura went to Ferncliff, he's pissed..he's off to get there and Stella stops him in the hall to yell at him. AHHAAA.

Laura and Carly at Ferncliff, demand to see the "Patient" They say he's not in there--but Kevin's laying right under the door so they can't see him. They go into Carly's old room. She starts tapping SOS on the wall...Kevin stirs.  Mary Pat stops. Carly and she trade jabs. Mary Pat says "you don't know everything"... and then Ryan runs in 'What on Earth are you doing here"???  He yells at Carly and Laura.  They leave just as Kevin wakes up. 

Finn and Anna go to jail to see Britt. They stand there and talk to each other for half the show.BRITT IS IN Fine Form!! LOL... "Ooooooo, Dr. Finn, why don't you come here and give me a physical".  Anna says she can arrange a meeting at the Metro for Britt to meet Peter. Probs to get Dr. O out of the shadows.  

BEST PART OF THE SHOW: DA CHICK reminds Michael Sonny killed his father too!!  Michael says "WELL BIG EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES RIGHT THERE"! Pffffffffft. 

I think Ryan will kill Mary Pat. 

Sunday Surgery: Pick My Brain

Did much move this week? Off the top of my head I'd say--no. Anna's back and.... um... Carly and Laura went to Ferncliff. That's all I have. Let's see what happens when I dig into the photos. Maybe something will spark my memory. 

I think it may be time for Dave to step in with one of his Wub Tub Time Machine posts this week? I can't believe I'll probably miss a murder (or so the promos suggest)-- because it's Halloween, the end of the month and my son is moving to his apartment. Dang, real life just swoops in!! 

Should we just eat candy corn today? Yes, I like it. My Mom LOVES it--and would buy bags and store them until they got stale (that's how she likes them...) I guess it's a child hood thing. I would bite off the yellow part and give the rest to my little brother!! LOL. 

Day FOUR

Franco and Liz are talking about helping Aiden at school by doing a volcano project with him in front of the class.  Liz "he's sensitive"... Franco "He's weird, and I celebrate weird"!! 

Laura and Carly going to Ferncliff.together..Laura isn't telling Kevin because he's too busy Laura makes Carly watchable!! Seriously. I hope to hell they don't get Jason or Sonny involved in this Kevin rescue. Let the ladies do it. 

They go to Ferncliff... they see mean Nurse-- she was fired

OMG... We are BACK AT THE METRO. Can't they move Sasha's scenes ANYWHERE ELSE? Seriously? It's DAY FOUR of different scenes. She's asking Kiki about Griffin. Ava is there too. She runs right into Griffin who was taking a phone call. 

Kiki's giving Sasha a room. 

Kiki and Griff leave, Ava introduces herself. Tells her she used to go out with Griffin. LOL

Sam and Spin go to see Janette Marino, Margo's mother-- who's nice... but Sam is acting really pissy and not in a 'good caper way"..?? They are pretending to be insurance adjusters. It's falling flat as a pancake.  They are trying to see if Janette knew her husband was killed and when.  Sam finds old love letters she steals. 

Lulu's going to "Kevin" to talk about "Ryan". It ends up being deep and about Sociopaths. 

Kiki goes to see Liz and gives her a RBG doll to say thank you for her help. 

AND............NEWS interrupting. SO... see you on Sunday. I hope--my parents are coming up and who knows

Charlie's....Sonny, Margo-go and Krissy. Sonny tells her who Margot is...Krissy makes her go sit at the table.  Sonny and Krissy talk, he supports her. Reminds her he wants to give her a good birthday in a couple of weeks. 

Spin is back. He's so happy JaSam are "dating" or whatever the hell they are doing. He found out that Margo's mother didn't cash in the insurance policy when her husband went missing.  Sonny comes over eventually. Spinelli says that the insurance company is now opening up an investigation into Marino's death. 

Apparently, Nina can't meet Sasha anywhere but the Metro Cafe/Restaurant. She gives her an amethyest...her birthstone. Maxie sits down...and asks Sasha if SHE has any mental health issues. LOL Sasha says no...but I bet she ends up crazy. Sasha is a 'temp' and Nina convinces her to "temp' in PC. Sounds like Nelle's "teaching job". 

Anna's home, is in Finn's room. I guess it's a surprise. Very cute banter and then then they have sex.  She didn't find Dr. O and decided to come home because she missed Finn. 

Oscar signed up with at "roommate service" to find somewhere to live. Julian comes in. Oscar is like "DID MY MOM SEND YOU"!! Julian says to cool it, he still has a job-- and Oscar leaves. 
AND...Ok, I'm saying it. JULEXIS should be a couple. Damn it. STUPID writing and the whole murder thing but I'm just going to forget it-- yep..NLG and WDV are THAT good. Ugh. WHY doing this to me.  Get him outta that flannel shirt tho.  Alexis thinks that she can help Oscar get to the conclusion  himself. 

Oscar finds out that rent is SO expensive...the girl that passed out fliers for a band..
Daisy, that's her name-- she tells Krissy she has something that can 'take her mind off her problems" A bonfire on the beach.
She also says she can help Oscar find a place to live. She says it's a "place where a bunch of people come and live together, pay what they can and do chores." SUCH a CULT!! She's totally a cult or commune person.

Peter is shopping with Maxie for a costume for James. GROSS.  Just trade Spinelli for Peter. I won't care. 


OH! Britt will be on next week. I can't wait to see she and Sasha stand next to each other. 

Dinner Anyone?

So, it's Thursday and I thought we'd visit more of Soaps Past. Here's a YouTube video of The Goal Post in?? PINE VALLEY!! Tom Cudahy ran it, remember?  Tom, the ex-football player came to the PA town in 1977 to open his restaurant. All sorts of things happened but the biggest one was him marrying Erica Kane. Tom was Catholic....Erica was not.  He wanted kids. Erica wanted her modeling career. She tricked him into thinking she wanted children until...HE FOUND her HIDDEN BIRTH CONTROL PILLS. BOOM! Giant moment. GIANT!! 

I keep going back to AMC because it's the first soap I watched on the regular. When I started GH there was The Floating Rib and the cafeteria at the hospital.  Kelly's is the most famous--and Ruby's Chili! 

What were some of the hang outs on the rest of the channels? I still say we need a pizza shop or Panera type place. I'm sick of coffee shops!!
