Sunday Surgery In a Pickle

Well, another week where I'm not quite sure what to say about our soap! I made it live for all 5 days and I must say, I was underwhelmed. I know we can't have all flash and pizazz every week but I want a bit more than I'm seeing!!

The week was 'off' in that we were interrupted by the baseball shenanigans last week so the Friday wasn't a "Friday" and most felt like filler. I'm wondering if they re-shuffled to move things along.

I'm going to have a nice iced coffee with cold foam!! Here we go go !

THE READING: It was the day we had all waited for!! Alexis came to the house to hand out Monica's estate and create some havoc. Jason got a watch, Ned some records...Olivia the cookware, Brook Lyn some pearls and yada yada. Every one expected Michael to get the house. Ronnie got a locket with Monica and her photo in it and then it was Tracey's turn. She got....a jar of Pickle-Lila! Which is what her father gave her when he passed. The house? Oh THAT goes to Ronnie. Everyone gasped. Then, one by one it became ok! Hey! She found the address was wrong on the warrant Anna had! Hero! I think they all got hit in the head--all except for Tracey!

Here's my theory, take it or leave it. I think Martin did this after finding the letter from Monica to Ronnie. I also think he set it up with Monica's other lawyer to change the will without her knowledge. I don't think Ronnie knows either. At least there's no hint of it. Martin could have done this without her even knowing. We shall see soon I think because Erika came on for 11 episodes. What do you think? You think she's in on it?

THE SHOOTING: Does this seem like it's gone on for like a year? Dang!! I was so happy that board went up in the PCPD but so far it's been a plodding bore. Discussion of motives, questioning and just not smooth in the timeline. Plus we have crabby Drew in the hospital just being a prick to whoever he happens to be talking with. By the way, did he actually go to anyone in authority and say "I saw Michael shoot me"? No, he goes around threatening everyone he's GOING to say that. I mean, shouldn't Jordan have gone straight to Anna after that conversation? The gun was found on Friday in Elizabeth's house. Everyone has visited lately, throwing suspicion on it be planted as opposed to Willow hiding it. Would Willow hide a gun with the kids in there anyway? Who would? Ok, maybe there's no bullets left. Kinda dumb to hide it rather than say, throwing it in the lake. BUT!! Who am I to know how to commit a murder in Port Charles? (maybe ask Sonny??)  Anyway, looks like Wills might be in the clink soon.

SPY VS SPY:  Excuse me while I keep harping on this but it calls for it. The best part of the whole thing is we know Carly doesn't know Joss is a WSB agent. That's it. I get nothing from Joss meeting Vaughn in secret in the myst at the docks. Don't care about Brennan. Carly freaking the hell out about Vaughn being an agent and not telling her was delicious because if she gets THAT batty over him, just wait until she finds out about her daughter. PLUS will she find out Joss has killed what? 2 men? Heh. :twirling: That will be epic.

PUPPY WUB: Aw, that Gio and Emma. So cute!! I'm trying like hell not to be cynical about their blossoming romance but dang. They are 21 years old. They act like they are 120. Or 12. Not sure which. Still, they are charming and both actors are doing well so I'll save the *itching for now.

NATHAN NOTHING BURGER: Oh. MY GAWD! Please!! I was so hopeful. SO SO hopeful. Now? What the hell. Even when Britt FINALLY went in to talk to him it gave me nothing. There's been no little hints or twists (other than that one smile I saw but maybe I was imagining that) to keep me going. The Spinelli talk was a bland moment in bonding. Spinelli DID try to get something out of Britt and again, sad horn. I feel like everyone is like: Oh WELP!! You're all back from the dead and let's just keep going. I guess when you've had 80% of the town resurrected it does get old. By the way, Nathan thinks it's 7 years ago. Um wouldn't he be asking about what has happened since then? "Hey am I still a policeman"?? Wouldn't the POLICE be investigating this? Who's buried in that hole? Wouldn't he at least get a psych consult? I get this is a soap but geesh. So many beats you could follow up with.

THE PREGNANT PAUSE: Oh my. First Olivia, then Carly and now Portia. GH is going to set the record for older ladies having babies. Geesh! Portia is going to have to figure out if it's Isaiah's or Curtis' baby. Didn't this happen to her before? Oh, wait..no she knew Trina was Curtis' but passed her off as Taggert's. Dang.  YOU LEARNED NOTHING! At least I like the Elizabeth and Portia friendship. Liz' house was just like a coffee shop this week! OH! Yes!! Liz mentioned that Aiden was in school!! What? Aiden is back? He's around? We had no idea.

WEEK IN A WUBSHELL:

Michael offered Willow 1 hour supervised visitation with the kids

The house went to Ronnie. Tracey is suspicious

Brennan told Jason to keep his mouth shut

Joss thought it would be good to out Vaughn as WSB without consulting Brennan first

Sonny told ADA Turner she can't prosecute Michael because they had pizza together

Anna finds out that Nina didn't walk with Willow the night of the shooting

Lulu wrote an article and people aren't happy

Warrants yield nothing at the Q house and a gun at Elizabeth's

Portia's pregnant

Gio and Emma kiss

Chris McKenna posted these on Twitter. Love the photos!

PREDICTIONS: Nathan goes to live with Nina and things trail along at a snail's pace from there. Martin slips up and we see a gleeful laugh when he finds out Tracey is furious about the house going to Ronnie. Joss and Vaughn can't stay away from each other. Emma remembers she was looking into Professor Dalton. Cody and Outback make a brief appearance when Molly visits the barn because she wants to see the pup. Ric's judgement day comes and they are going to let him go. Will he tell? Portia thinks she might need to terminate her pregnancy but can't go through with it. Kai is as boring as ever and now has to set up remote congress meetings for Drew because he can't get to DC.

OK that's it!! Hope you had a good week and will enjoy the day Monday. I'm off work and I'm not sure I'll be here or visiting. Good time to get out leaf peeping! BRING BACK OUTBACK!

CHEERS!

RIP Diane Keaton, one of the best. You know my fave scene of her is the lobster one in Annie Hall.

  1. I loved Diane Keaton too. She put her "whole self" into her acting. We recently watched Something's Gotta Give with Diane Keaton, Jack Nicholson, Keanu Reeves and Frances McDormand. Fun movie.

Thanks for all your hard work Karen. Enjoy your day off tomorrow.

  2. "The gun was found on Friday in Elizabeth's house."

Wait what!?!?! It was? I don't remember seeing that! When?

    1. At the very end. Any came down with something in an evidence bag and asked Liz, "Where is your roommate" or something like that.

    2. We didn’t see the gun, just something in a bag, which seems odd. Why not just show the gun?

  3. I agree that I don't think Ronnie was in on the tampering of the will and that Martin did it to get back at Tracy. I still think Tracy and Martin could end up as a couple.

The Nathan/Britt storyline should be better than it is. Too many questions swirling around both of their returns. Multiple folks would be investigating -- the WSB, PCPD, Jason and Spinelli.

I do like the blossoming romances between Gio and Emma and Cody and Molly.

Someone online theorized Monica shot Drew to help Michael. LOL, kinda out there but interesting. Scout or Nelle being the shooter would be better but I do think it will turn out to be Willow.

Things I would like to see: Joss leaves the WSB, Carly breaks up with Jack, and ADA Turner leaves town.

  4. All the geriatric pregnancies on this show! I hope, when it happens, Tracey and Martin have a good form of birth control!
I like your theory about the will. I was thinking maybe Monica was playing one last Q game with Tracey but this has Martin written all over it. And Ronnie seems solid, I think she helped Michael see that for the kid’s sake they should see their mother, and he’s being smart about it. I think it’s a red herring that he had his hands in his pockets and looked around suspiciously before entering Liz’ house. He knows the kids need a bond with their mom, but he knows Willow was stalking Sasha’s baby so he’s wary. Supervised visitation is perfect.

As for other stuff, IDK how they’re going to wrap up this Ric mess but it’s been fun. I wish it would move quicker. Joss and Vaughn—I couldn’t care less. I actually like Brennan (not so much with Carly), Chris McKenna has the most beautiful eyes. He could be a romantic lead IMO, but not as this character.

  5. ---okay I like that Ronnie is not in on it ----- still why is NO ONE looking at her DL or my gosh, sending Brick, whoever, down to DURHAM (no Southern accent by the way) and checking out IS THIS RONNIE?
-----I like whoever's idea it was 'sister of my heart' meant Tracy and Martin just changed to Ronnie....
------What WAS the purpose of Drew getting shot? And and why is NO ONE recording his threats and blackmailing him?
----Willow will now think Michael planted the gun.....course he didn't. Willow is so obvious so I think she did it but doesn't remember it????That is the only logical answer. No one else has been in the house - Carly and Michael didn't plant. it. My answer is gonna sky-rocket if Carly lies to protect Michael and confesses-----------------------I mean come one what about DONNA? Is Avery grown yet???
-----for me the most ridiculous thing is NO ONE grilling Britt and Nathan and yes, why is no one helping Nathan with stuff like - current events, DL, money, etc....bad time for RL to return without Maxie.
-----the spoilers/sweeps teasers say the audience will find out who shot Drew but not the police....scream.....and Ronnie's storyline DOES wrap up so that is good.
-----cut the cast with Portia, Isaiah, Joss, Vaughn, Lulu, Chase, Brook Lynn, and honestly, we need romance..........Nina has nothing to do/Liz needs a strong man, more Lucas, more Spinelli

  6. Thanks for another great SS!
Just like on Law & Order, often the first suspect arrested did not do the crime. I don't think Willow has it in her to hold a gun steadily enough to shoot someone but it is a soap so anything can happen.
Britt and Nathan's returns from the dead have been bizarre, and not in a good way.
Portia's zex with Curtis was way before Isaiah I thought. But again it is a soap. Maybe she'll leave with the baby. Still don't care.
It doesn't seem that Ronnie knows anything. This is probably one time that they should have kept the longevity of a character a secret.
    Yes, more Outback please.
Waiting for a little Nor'easter to arrive soon. Love a nice stormy Sunday!
