Sunday Surgery: WONDER WILLOW

Well, I had a blast this week, that's for dang sure!! For a character I personally could give or take, Willow came out like a champ and KM blew me away with her acting. Thursday's show will go down as one of my faves of all time. Yep. You heard that right.

Grab a glass of whatever you want to throw in Drew's face and let's GO GO!!

BAMBOOZLED

It's often said things take forever in daytime TV. Drew was shot in early September and actually, it has not been that long. I think it felt longer because of all the red herrings, narratives and the fact Drew was still alive. We were all low-key burning with that!! So many people blackmailed, so many clues then NOT clues. We were exhausted.
I'm saying it was worth the wait. Especially when you factor in the baseball interruption. I do think they were going to tie it up around Christmas.

THE REVEAL:  If you haven't seen Thursday's show -- WATCH IT. Alexis had gotten the note about Michael lying and Tracey covering it up and that seemed to turn the tide. Even Dante's doubting Michael now. Next up? Egomaniac Drew demands to take the stand even though Alexis tells him that's a bad idea. Bad idea for him, pure entertainment for us!! For the first time, I enjoyed ADA Turner just being in the room.  She rattled Drew to a delightful level of hysteria. HE'S A NAVY SEAL!! HE'S A QUARTERMAINE! HE'S A PATRIOT! Oh... just the stuff of soapy legends. He did such a bad job,  Alexis had to put Willow back on the stand to try to repair the damage. She did her part and it seems like (for now) the jury might be swayed.

RING RING:  During her testimony we see that Willow got the gun from the cabinet, went to Drew's and shot him. The best part? Her face as she did it. I have several thoughts on this, especially because she could have gotten out of all of it by just leaving Drew but I'm not going to go into that just now. I'm just going to enjoy those scenes and the subsequent facial expressions of Kai and Tri when they hear Willow's phone go off.

DING DONG:  Look who left the note.  We were right --Martin DID listen in after he went to the Qs that day. He's messing with Tracey and I can see these two doing a revenge dance for years.

TRI/KAI FACTOR:  Yes, Trina needs a storyline. Yes, I'm not thrilled with Kai BUT I do like they were involved with this mystery. Trina's loyalty to her parents, the truth and her best friend are tested. I just wish she had had a partner to match her energy and meshed with her for a nice chemical romance.

OTHER STUFF:

VAL IN THE ATTIC:  Val wanted to leave, Carly threw a wrench in that and I guess he's staying. He did tell Charlotte to cool it and not visit anymore. They need to get moving on this part of the story because attics are just boring.

ANXIETY:  While I appreciate this, I would have liked a scene or two where she was sitting in the apartment, worried around Christmas time. Maybe calling Robin and being all: Gram's gone, I'm worried, have you heard from her? Or talking to Gio? Just seemed to come out of the blue. This did lead to Brennan finally having a light bulb moment and realize maybe he should do something.

BRITT AND BRAD:  My faves. Brad calling out the MOSS? Come on now, these two are delightful. Can't we PLEASE have him working at Bobbie's and live next to Britt?

BRITT AND JASON: Well... I don't know. On the one hand, I GET  that St. Jaysus needs a lady to save but... it's not grabbing me yet.

DUBLIN' DOWN:  Kevin is off to Ireland and is going to take Ace. Pretty convenient considering JL is on Beyond The Gates now and can't be around much. Also solves that pesky: Where's Ace? question. Is anyone going to tell Nikolas? Hmmm...

REALITY: Loved the video game scene. Wiley's getting older, isn't he? I really did think this scene was a touch o goodness.

SO! There is it!! Like Valentin, I'm looking forward to next week and seeing closing arguments. It's probable Willow will get found not guilty. That way, she can't be tried again even IF the truth comes out. Good twist but it does put Michael in an interesting position. Will the ADA go after him now for the crime? If he finds out Willow did it, will he want the kids around her even if she does leave Drew? Should be nice and messy. Plus, we now know Willow is a potential loose cannon with instability issues so-- that's always a great thing on a soap!!  Others speculate she will get found guilty and go a bit insane again and end up in Shady Brook. That wouldn't be as dramatic to me.
I can see Anna's situation gearing up. I don't know why Finola's been gone this long but it was weird she wasn't around for the Drew trial. (She DID have that murder board, after all!).

Hope you enjoyed this week as much as I did! I didn't go into huge detail in retelling it all because I encourage you to experience it for yourself. If you needed to catch up, never fear because there is a TON of narrative spread around the week for you to absorb.

CHEERS!

  1. Drew is enough to make anyone cra-cra!!!!!

I am probably the only one that wants this, but why does no one worry that Anna has been gone for MONTHS? I want Valentin to go find her if he is on the show

  2. I am super-curious about what they have planned for Willow long-term. I would not mind her staying a little "dark."

  3. I think Michael knows Willow shot Drew. If Valentin relocates to Spoon Island maybe he'll rescue Anna.

  4. Thanks for another great SS!
KM is killing it...will she try again to end Drew? Loved that smirky smile when Drew's drink splashed. It is always fun when the viewers know and the characters don't.
Brad and Britt are pure gold. Love the idea of him working at Bobbie's and living next to Britt. Maybe he could get some moss.
    Jacinda and Michael. Yes.
