Sunday Surgery: Smoke and Mirrors

OH! I found out it WAS Anders Hove voicing the Anna terror and I'm just giddy. I had to find this photo of "PK Sinclair" with Anna smoking his cigar. Be still my Faison loving heart. Yes, that was the highlight of the week for me. Ok, I'm done--that's the blog!!

No, sorry, you don't get off that easily. We have a lot to go over and you'd better get something and have a seat.

Let's GO GO!

NOT GUILTY: Everything we've seen trial-wise boiled down to this: Willow is not guilty. BUT! We know she IS guilty and so does Alexis. Trina and Kai did their best to make that point but instead of going to the DA where it may have made a difference, they chose her defense council. Then again, they'd probably get charges against them if they HAD gone to the PCPD so.. maybe Kai could have gone himself, never mention Trina and we'd have two birds one stone! Anyway, this was about the only direction this could have taken once we found out Willow did it and wasn't in some fugue state. I'm going to wait for the day that both Chase and Drew find out it was her. Please be soon!

HIGHLIGHT SCENE: Sexis' talk about Michael and Alexis' 'moral compass' was superb. I love Mo and Nancy together and this particular scene just hit right. Sonny suddenly becomes smarter and less heavy on the mob accent. She can talk to him about that other side of her and not feel guilty. Just really great performances from both.

HIGH-JINX AT THE Q HOUSE:  In a stunning display of absolute soapy greatness, Olivia brandishes a gun at Drew. Oh be still my heart!! After arguing with people over returning the Q goods, she comes down to confront him about leaving Ned for dead at Bobbie's. Martin hightails it out of there and Olivia is ready to blow Drew's brains out. He finally leaves and Tracey gives Olivia the rifle as a gift. Certainly a fun part of the week!

GEMMA ZEX:  The kids finally get to it and have a nice, controlled evening in bed. They are pretty tame (as most GH couples are) but I liked the talk about the future. Gio is unsure what direction he wants to take and Emma is going to vet school! I'm wondering if they are going to be in this Sinclair story at all. Hmmm. I mean, she's finally realizing that Anna isn't coming back soon but other than releasing the dogs, it seems to have died down on their end.

CHAMBER OF ANNA:  Worth the wait. (at least for me!) Anna's struggling with her cancer and after a failed attempt at an escape starts to hallucinate. First up is Dr O, giving her a transfusion. We see this isn't the case when Liesl is shown talking to Britt at GH at the same time. When Anna wakes up, there's the famous cigar  of Faison's in the ashtray. THEN....DUN DUN DUN-- he's on the loud-speaker. She freaks out. Boy, Finola can sure do it up. She was ill, terrified and acting like the trapped animal she is. I think pulling that off in a non-soapy way is amazing. More please.  *Note: I've since found out a majority of people are not liking this for Anna. I personally feel like it harkens back to the OG days of GH with her. But--that's just me.

THIS WSB GUY:  When Anna tries to escape some "heavy' (Ross Cullum)  comes along and chokes her out. Who is he? We have no clue but he seems to be in charge of both Sidwell and Pascal. Come to find out he's the director of the WSB. Now forgive me if I say this was a misstep in this story. Like a BIG one. For years we've wondered about the head of all this-- and...it's THIS guy? Really? Come on now. Watching Brennan and him talk it out at The Metro was soooo wooden and boring. I don't want another cartoon baddie but--eesh!! Also, with all the interesting people out there to cast, it's that's what you get?  Nothing against him but dang. Can't we get diversity? Just a weird choice. Julian Jerome could have shocked us. Can you imagine? Or Viktor Cassadine--or ...or... Alkazar.  Hat Daddy Marshall! Oh we would have FAINTED.  Now I'm just like: Meh.

VALENTINAVA:  Val and Ava met up in Wyndemere in a nice little scene. Valentin acted like he was meant to be there and the two shared some great dialog. Ava then went to Sidwell about it and now the cat's out of the bag. How will this impact everything? Not sure but I did like seeing those two together

JAMES AND THE GIANT SKATE:  I realize they are trying to smoosh Lulu and Nathan together. Using James' accident to do it was pretty funny. The kid falls for 'skating too fast' and is brought to the ER. Lulu acts like she made him ride in traffic without a helmet and is all guilt-ridden. Um..huh? HE FELL. Now the poor kid can't ride with Cody for 3 weeks. How about not letting him skate for 3 weeks? I'm mentioning this because the Nathan thing has gone on long enough. Not giving ANY clues or little shoves to his 'real reason' for being alive after all this time is maddening. He's as bland as ever! There's NO There-There!! I honestly have been waiting for him to either inject something, start talking in a weird accent or at least talking to someone on the phone. Nope. It's been too long. That's all I'm saying. Whatever is up with him should have started eons ago. Brook was afraid of him at first, remember? Where did THAT Go? Why isn't Dr O questioning anything? So many things I need to know.

JABRITTLE:  I'm mentioning this because it's going to be out there and we need to at least acknowledge that fact. Carly and Joss are also at the Ax-throwing bar and she throws a fit he's with Britt. Color me hysterical because he's warned her off of Jack for AGES. It also seems Spy-Girl Joss has been demoted to 'watching Lucas' and that's about it. The two little things I liked about this pairing this week? Brad calling out Jason and SBu breaking the 4th wall after making a bullseye.

OTHER THINGS THAT HAPPENED:

We finally got snow in the opening shot!!

Dr O is buying jerseys for Rocco's hockey game

Tad and Tracey made peace after Laura told them to for her sake

Chase still thinks Willow is innocent

Michael tells Willow the kids can see her at the "Mom and Me" prison program. I guess there's a wrench in that one!

Yuri showed up

Diane came on in her wheelchair for a few moments with Alexis

Brad got in a Moss-Mention

QUESTIONS ON THE WUBS MIND:

Why isn't Dr O questioning Britt's miraculous 'recovery' from her disease? Also see: What about Nathan being dead for 7 years?

Where's RIC?

What is Kristina's job?

Where is Avery? Is she being SORA'd?

SO that's  that!! Questions now include: What Willow do about Drew? Does she need him to get custody of the kids? I guess she thinks she does so that will continue. I predict Chase will be the savior in this. He'll still think she's innocent and need saving. On the Anna/Sidwell whatever the Cold-Fusion goes, I'm not sure what's going on. On the one hand they are talking about getting rid of Anna and on the other, they are torturing her mind? To what end? Maybe Pascal is Faison's brother or something and Sidwell doesn't even know about all this trickery. The minerals that Deception are using seem to be dropped and that would have dovetailed nicely on to this. Poor Ava has not a lot to do and Nina's stuck shrieking about Willow. Please, now that she's been found not guilty can we stop? Valentin is intriguing but quickly losing his punch. The show has been running pretty well on all cylinders but could (as usual) use some tweaks. I did find myself wanting to come home and get to it this week and that's always a great sign.

Ok! HOPE you had a great week..see you later!! CHEERS.

SIDE NOTE: What a heartbreaking loss for my Bills.
