Sunday Surgery: Schatzi !!

 

It was another good week on GH and things came fast and furious. By Friday my typing fingers had blisters! Ok, I'm over exaggerating but I swear the dialog writers were on extra JOLT colas!! I'll give you the outline of what happened but I do encourage you to watch if you haven't. Friday is a good day to jump into if you need a refresher. 

So many things to talk about and not a lot of time...have a seat and let's GO GO! 

NEW FACE-CHAR: I've been moaning for months upon months about this character not being around. It was VERY glaring how Charlotte, who was looked for by an obsessed Lulu, just disappeared. She was recast and aged slightly (Bluesy Burke is on year older than the previous actress) and got even taller! I'm giving the actress grace for a bit to get comfortable in the role. Charlotte did play a good part this week and fit right into the family. Oh, and she seems to have dropped the "Papa" for now. Maybe when she sees Val, it will come back. 

THE WSB CAPER: I'm taking these all by story because breaking down the week in a timeline would have me insane. Let's just say there was a bomb strapped to Britt's ankle, Jason and Joss (ahaha) fought off bad-guys, Jason saved Britt and they ended up flying home. Yes, the FIVE POPPIES blew up but the PJ baddie got away. In the middle of it all, Britt gave Jason major crap about ditching her for Carly and got REALLY mad when he went to save Josslyn and left her in the lab. They banter and yada yada. We all know where this is going. 

AFTERGLOW: In something that surprised me, Joss and Vaughn flew to Bondi Beach to surf and get her 'alibi' for being going straight. Oh, also...they went at it like rabbits in their little surfer-shack. Why you ask? OH! To have BRENNAN walk in. It was a delicious moment because Brennan was giant mad and Voss looked shamed. Brennan realizes that Jason knows Joss is a WSB agent now. He might have the wrath of Carly upon him soon!! RUN MAN! RUN!

OH YEAH, THERE'S VALENTIN: I almost forgot to include this little Zoom in there. ALSO this week, Brennan talked with Val on Zoom. Valentin has info on the "Boss" from his days with the Pikeman organization (lord help us). Looking pretty rough, he demands to see Charlotte before he gives anything up. Will he accept a virtual visit? HELL NO! So, we have to have Lulu, Carly, Brennan and Nina all trying to put there 2 cents into things. We know the visit will probably happen. JPS is missed so maybe he'll get out? 

SCENES OF THE WEEK: Why did I choose these? First off, Carly was AGHAST that Jason wanted to talk to Anna alone and wouldn't hear her out. LW overplayed those scenes to Carly perfection. The shock and sneer was just awesome. Getting to Anna and Jason, they just had a really good discussion about Josslyn and the WSB. All that Anna had given up but also Jason tying himself to Sonny. He still can't see that Sonny might have taken advantage of his situation. Of course, Finola was exquisite and hit all the right notes. Just really well done. 

BRITT'S BACK: "The Britch is Back" says Liz to Lucas. We see the town's reaction to her waltzing through the GH hallway. Mostly it's shock but for Lulu and Dante it's anxiety because of Rocco. Oh, yeah, Britt asked if "Ben" was in the hospital. This from a woman that didn't if ever mention "Ben" again after Lante got him back. BUT!!! This is a soap and that material is sure soapy. Afterall, it's not everyday a character gets kidnapped as an embryo. 

REACTION:  Liesl reacted like any mother would have and was in shock. Stroking her hair, hugging her within an inch of her life and then later, smacking the hell out of her! Britt tells her that she faked her death to spare her watching the ravages of Huntington's. Liesl is having none of it. "SO yous died in my arms"!!? We know there's more to the story but that will come later. 

THE SHOOTING:   GUESS WHO CAN FEEL HIS LEGS? That's right... Baddie Drew Cain!! While we all speculated it was going to be case of fake-paralysis, they surprised us by not only making Drew mobile, his memory was intact. Hmmm... did he get any nicer? Hell no, he's seemed to have doubled down. I personally am glad they didn't go the route of amnesia to change his personality. I like Drew being the nasty character he is. Sorry but I do. I think things are way more interesting this way. Does he really know who shot him and will frame Michael? I think he does!! Speaking of...

WHERE'S WILLOW: She told Liz she "hates Drew" but has to stay with him 'for her kids'. She goes from a smiling Cheshire cat to anxious school-mouse. Just the fact she didn't want to see Drew for so long is suss. He could totally blackmail her into staying with him with that information and she'd be trapped. Soapy!! 

THE ESCORT WITH A HEART OF GOLD: Ok, we don't know Jacinda that well right now but I know how the story goes. Michael is getting his story up and running for the night of the shooting. We all saw him get BACK in his car at Drew's place. Hmmm... Tracey also knows he was there. Yes, he was with Jacinda but not all night. He even staged a hotel-scene for Dante to walk into. He's a crafty one! Dante smells something is off though and who knows what will happen when Drew names him. All I know is I like Jacinda and she could be our "Donna". (if you know, you know). 

RORY APPRECIATION PHOTO:  That's it... that's the comment. 

OUTBACK: OUTBACK is LOOSE!! First Rocco gets beaned in the head then Gio doesn't help Charlotte and she's back home! Get out there!! I know labs use beagles for testing and I think this is where it's going. Outback probably escaped at one time from there. Is she back in there? People don't want to think of animals being tested on but it's a DRAMA and it's devious. Emma's going to find out what's happening (we think) so I'm interested to see where this goes. 

SUSPECTS:  They are still looking at Curtis and he went in to talk to Anna. Martin was there and it was an interesting interview. Curtis is best when he's on edge and not thinking about Portia. Who else talked to Anna? Alexis. She came up with a great alibi/story and used Ava and Kristina to do it. Michael was called in as well and Marco was his attorney! 

BRICK IN THE WALL: The reason I mention him is that he and Sonny talked about the million dollars that went to Judge Heron. Sidwell is the one that did it and then he made it look like Sonny gave her the money. Now, Sonny is making it look like Drew gave her the money. I'd also like to say I'm no fan of SS but he and Laura and Mo had a nice, realistic chat that went down well. 

GOOD THINGS THIS WEEK: 

Liz and Lucas' friendship rings like OG days gone by where there were friends at the hospital that gossiped, talked things out and had good scenes together. Loved it. 

Carly saying:  "All Drew, all the time" was pretty funny. 

Nina and Lulu. Just liked their scenes a lot and Lulu was not shrieking. Win-Win

Trina and Emma in the Garage Cafe. Liked their scenes. With Joss gone, they need to cultivate this more. 

Anna's taking charge of the investigation and Chase and Dante are right there with her. 

BOOS THIS WEEK: 

You are not showing RIC?? WHAT IS UP with THAT!!? It writes itself!! I want Ava down there reading "Wuthering Heights" to him or something!

Vaughn and Joss. I want to like them because they are next-gen Spy WSB. Unfortunately there is just ZERO chem for me. There's no THERE THERE. 

BONE TO PICK:  The Ned Olivia factor. Hopefully you've made it this far because I have something to say about these two. They should have moved somewhere while Ned is running part of ELQ. Having them absent for MOST if not ALL of this shooting story is just glaring. If they lived away, they could visit now and then for family dinners and important scenes. Having them supposedly living in the house and not even around is just not right. Given their past, wouldn't Ned be a suspect as well? Leo is never around either so if they were moved, that writes itself. I'm not saying I don't want them on the show because I love their characters. I'm just saying bopping in and out after months of absences just isn't doing it. 

THAT'S IT because if I keep yapping you'll never get your Sunday going!! So much happened that it was hard to write it all. I think the death of Monica is going to dominate the rest of September because it will be a biggie. We will need our hankies and hugs for that time for sure.
