Dear Project Runway: YOU ARE DEAD TO ME!

The Person that WON the show actually MADE THESE shorts!!

What in the HELL!!/ I just watched the finale of season 8. I heard not a peep about the show because no one I know watches it anymore (ever since the move from BRAVO, it's all been downhill, imo).
Who wins? Gruesome Gretchen! I don't care about her personality being that of a viper snake, but I DO care that her fashions are buttfugly. GOOD LORD...I mean... really, really UG-LY. Not in the "who would wear that" designer sense either--They weren't even good for screwy Paris stuff I don't recognize!!
Both Heidi Klum and Jessica Simpson fought for her NOT to win. Nina and Michael the "fashion gurus" that they are decided that they loved her stuff--after hating it all season. WTF? If that's fashion, I WANT OUT.

Tim Gunn even spoke about Gretchen's "win".. it was the elephant in the room when he made a public appearence this week.
"Mondo will do fabulously anyway, and Gretchen really needs the money.”Maybe she'll buy a clue and a new hairstyle. Here's hoping.

They didn't have a fan fave vote this year either. The show is just empty and obviously they wanted a controversial win.  Well, they got it.  My whole family stopped watching long ago. I was the last one to hang on (mostly my love for Tim) but hells,  I gotta go on this one. Nina and Michael done lost their MINDS!

  1. I totally agree about the ending to Project Runway. After weeks of Mondo's winning challenges and being obviously the best designer, we get Grungy Gretchen??? While this travesty won't stop me from watching (I sew myself and I just love watching the contestants work without patterns and so quickly),it does change the way I view Michael Kors and Nina Garcia. Perhaps they need an odd number of judges, and a blind ballot for choosing the winner. Talk about bullying! They owe Heidi and Jessica an apology. I couldn't even bear to watch the end, and turned it off. oh yes, and since when did Jessica Simpson become a fashion maven? She can't even dress herself age appropriately and stylishly...argh!

  2. I'm amazed you didn't use one of the granny panty shots. Those were even worse on the bottom. Poor Mondo!

  3. I record Project Runway and watch the next day. When I found out who won, I deleted the show and commented on Blogging Project Runway that I am done with the show (and I have been a fan since almost the beginning). If they did it for ratings, it was a big mistake.

  4. I still watch and have to say that while I wanted Mondo to win, I don't claim to be fashion savvy enough to disagree with Michael Kors that what Gretchen is doing is "now", as he put it. Maybe it is and I guess they know better than anyone. I liked some of her looks but Mondo obviously has the "wow factor" working for him. You looked forward to see what he would do next. Gretchen? Not so much.

  5. I would never wear Gretchen's clothes, I thought most were hideous. After Michael Kors gave his opinion of them, I had to question his sanity. I love Michael Kors products. I immediately felt I needed to change my purse to a no name brand, and disassociate myself with him. it was a terrible decision. Mondo was the best and he should have won.

  6. After criticizing and tossing out Michael's lovely coppertones for being too much in one color scheme (Cors said that a color scheme does not a collection make), then they choose Gretchen's ugly all browns and greys junk. 3 shorts she did--count 'em. Who wears short shorts anywhere but in sunny climes? And they were ugly shorts. Depressing. I mean, do those belong on the runway? There was just no variation in her stuff, no glam, just brown and more brown, nothing that made me say, 'oooh, I'd wear that!', which I murmured several times over Mondo's creations. I loved that he had actual COLOR in his designs, that he mixed patterns so expertly, that his things were wearable and exciting and happy. I couldn't wear that long polka-dot gown, but Heidi sure could! Why can't clothes be joyous? Why does that make them 'circus'? I love color and the PR designers get criticized all the time for using it.
    Lots of head-shaking here....

This was such a DISAPPOINTING season....

  7. BTW, I thought Andy's clothes were better than Gretchen's. He at least had a direction/inspiration. I feel like the edited the show as a giant set-up to the "shocker' finale.
