Sunday Surgery: Saving Face

 

I managed to watch all 5 shows in real-time this week!! Was I enthralled? Not really but I guess some things moved along so it wasn't a total loss. Come find out what surprised me the most--and the least! 

I wish I could drink like Ezra did but let's face it. Those days are long gone. I don't even want a mimosa. I'll stick with coffee. 

LET'S GO GO! 

BANDAGE BONDAGE:  Jordan woke up and was pretty freaked out by the whole "you almost burned to death" news. She remembered kissing Curtis and swerving and another car swerving and... it goes on and on. Jordan then has to see her injuries and loses it when she sees the big cuts on her face. I get it. It's traumatic but girl...it's not that bad and you weren't burned. Go talk to Spencer or Ava or hell even Michael. They don't even have a SHADOW of a scar!! You'll get fixed right up. Plus, isn't it strange she's reacting so badly? She's not a model or an actress and she WAS an undercover cop for a long time. They usually aren't afraid of getting banged up. 

MY IDEA:   There were 4 cars on Rt 91 that night and two were crashed. We still have no idea what happened with the kids (was it a deer? was Char kissing Danny?) and Isaiah is looking all weird when he thinks about things. Jordan kisses Curtis--swerves....the kids see her lights....swerve and go up the road...Brook sees the kids' lights, honks and swerves, hitting the guard rail while the kids continue down and end up against the tree or whatever they hit (I forget). Isaiah saw the Brook Lyn car do her swerve (but didn't see the kids because they were too far away at that point) and swerved to miss HER and he's not sure WHO that was.  The lack of follow up on Danny and Charlotte is puzzling. Did Carly get the car fixed in 4-5 hours? She must have because Lulu didn't even notice it was gone!! 

HA HA!  It's a quagmire and I am so not into it. The "you had wine" and hid the car stuff? I'm happy to know the Q's have some classic cars but this is just ANOTHER Brook Lyn secret. First we went through the Bailey Lu one, and the whole Gio thing. Frankly, I'm tired of seeing her worried eyeballs every week. There are just too many things to keep track of from eons ago to add this. That's my opinion! 

DARK WILLOW: Oh she's a wiley one (get it?!) To get Nina under her control, she has her inject Drew with the paralytic drug so she has her fingerprints. Watching Nina find out just how psycho her other daughter is was a joy to behold. Um, girllll you thought Nelle was the only one!! Willow was supposed to be stable!! Anyway, if Willow had just waited a bit, she could have found out Mama solved it by using Carly against Brennan.  Now Nina's got Valentin in the mix and hopefully, they'll figure things out quick. 

                              

SPIDEY SENSE: In another display of paranoia, Willow loses it when Wiley praises Daddy's girlfriend not only for her spider-love but for her ability to play Tron!! (Is Tron a thing again??) STAY AWAY FROM MY CHILDREN she screeches at Jacinda. She WAS holding a Birkin bag so maybe she thought she was cool. (or was that the Walmart knock-off?) Jacinda gave it right back and then Michael walks in. Should be a good scene on Monday to look forward to! 

THE SURPRISE:  Well, these two made the end of the week livable. Genie and Daniel are great actors and seemed to have fun with everything. Having Ezra be drunk and upset about the Sidwell situation was a good turn of events. Lord knows Laura needs something to do besides gab to Sonny and this seems a good fit. Romance? Nope but friends in taking down a bad guy? Sure. If I can't have Martin around, I'll take Boyle. 

THE BOYZ: I didn't like this sequence for the reason you are thinking. Yes, it was nice the bros bonded again and yada yada but the great part? They acted like real teens for a minute!! When they were acting like Dante's batting practice was lame, it finally felt like they were being the  age they are playing. There comes a time in every kid's life where Dad or Uncle or whoever can be just uncool.  Also: Points for having Dante hurt his shoulder ("I thought I tore my shirt" LOL)... nice touch! 

ETHAN RETURNS:  Luke has two wayward, wandering sons and one is back to roost for no one knows how long. Was it nice to see him? I guess. I'm also very aware that he is the same age as so many other guys that look like him on this show. Could we have maybe recast TJ if Tahj isn't available? On Monday it shows he's looking for a job with Sonny. Is he really connected to all the Cold Fusion ish? If he's not then I don't get it. Ok, I'm just mad he cut his hair. :giggle: 

OMG GET HIM OFF: Isn't this guy a moot point? We NEVER see the lab. He skulks around and at least when Anna was there he could pretend to be Faison. Now? No one cares, buddy. 

THE JOSS FACTOR: :rolls eyes: So, she was 'stood down' by the WSB but is now all over finding out about Faison's connection and Cullum and....harassing Cassius at the gym.  I feel like they should have either pulled her out from the organization all together or left her in there. The insertion of her skulking or trying to figure things out every other week is just weird. 

BABY BABY: Delightful little peach made her debut!! She lit up the camera for sure. It was great to have the Qs in the same room again. There was talk about her not being a premie but you can't hire really young babies anymore (and certainly not a premie) and plus.. COME ON! That face. She's approved. 

OTHER THINGS: 

Ric tells Alexis Danny wants to join the mob. Hyperventilation ensuses

Carly discusses her feelings about her 'mystery man' with Lucas. She kinda likes him.

Ethan drops by to see Sonny but runs into Kristina instead

Tracey tells Brook Lyn to not talk about her involvement with the accident 

Stella gave sage advice to Curtis 

Laura has a video of a drunk Ezra but won't use it

ADA and Sonny had zex in the LOVE SHACK again this week

QUESTION: Just why DID Maxie wake up from her coma???? 

NEWS:  Another newbie coming to GH. Jonathan Bennett is coming as Joe Fitzpatrick. People are speculating he's a new love interest for Lucas (if so, that was quick!!). I'm also speculating he's Jordan's plastic surgeon. Don't blink but he's another "of that age" guy that looks like the other ones on the show. 

Nathan Dean (Ethan) is listed on contract. 

THOUGHTS AND IDEAS:  Everything is in a blender right now because of the SBu departure and the rewriting of the whole Cold-Fusion mess. We haven't even seen the lab in months and Sidwell is more concerned about his flight paths and son's murder than anything else. Cullum's been in the hospital forever and Rocco's just skulking around with guilt. Speaking of guilt, Brook's got it and instead of focusing on baby Phoebe and who's the Daddy, we have this secret to get through first. *sigh*. Chase will find out, get pissed at her for not telling him and probably run to Willow. Meanwhile, I'm grateful that Valentin got out of his attic chamber but he was working with Carly to bring down Brennan and now Nina's in the mix too? Joss is going around half-cocked trying to tie the frayed edges together. Again, I just feel like everything is so disconnected. Alexis and Ric have a fun talk about Danny and then... we don't see them again. The flow is just lost with this show lately. 

Where's Pascal? Shouldn't he be grief stricken and short-sheeting Lucas' bed or something? 

OK that's my limit. Sorry things weren't in a neater bow but I felt like things were just all over the place. Anna's back at some point and I am guessing that a Robert tribute will happen right after, especially now that Ethan is around. Keep an eye on Emma Samm's socials to see if she's talking about coming over!!
