Sunday Surgery: Comfortably NUMB

For the first time in many weeks, this will be a bitching blog-- so...if you're not in the mood, look away!! It was a brutal week news wise, then Catherine O'Hara dies and... not even my soap provided me with good old fashioned entertainment.

WARNING: Do not read if you don't want to. I understand.

Grab some crabby stuff and let's GO GO

WHAT I EXPECTED  Scores of characters to be trapped together in different locations but the focus would be on Wyndemere where Anna is captive, Lucas lives and Ava sashay around with martinis. Spooky intrigue ensues! Over on the mainland we see Willow struggle a bit with her duplicity, talking to Drew while he lays motionless in the bed (they could use a stand in for him, not show his face). The hospital crew runs around tending emergencies and Liz has an encounter with a stranger that brings news of Jake who may be in trouble in the Art World in Paris (enter Ava and Trina later in Feb). You know-- just some good old fashioned THINGS HAPPENING. Cody's lost on a trail.. Outback saves him by getting Molly!! Q house is the stuff of Nightmares when Leo decides to do experiments with subzero temperatures.

WHAT I GOT: A FAKE WYNDEMERE that was a stock photo of some museum in Amsterdam,  two people trapped together all over Port Charles talking about.. nothing. Seriously. I mean.. other than Britt telling Jason what the whole mess is about, it was just chatter. Now, in no particular order here's what happened!!

MONDAY: Everyone talks about the storm coming.  "OMG there's a storm'! It's going to be bad!! Charlotte's missing!

TRACEY IS TRAPPED WITH MARTIN: Yes, I could watch these two spar all day long but to be honest, in a blizzard where so much more could be going on? It was cute the first 5 minutes. Then, move on.

EMMA AND GIO CAN'T MAKE IT TO DREW'S SO THEY... YOU KNOW: Gio doesn't have gloves. Emma is concerned. They end up making da-wub on the couch.

VALENTIN AND CARLY GET TRAPPED TOGETHER until... Jack comes and Carly has to fake wanting zex with him.

THE KIDS KISS: So, as predicted Danny and Charlotte have the feelings for each other. Cue coy looks when Rocco shows up. Also cue all the outrage on social media about them being 'related'. I seriously don't even care. Not one bit. Char is so one note now that she could go kiss Butterscotch and I'd be like: cool.

THE OTHER KIDS KISS:  That's right Nathan and Lulu have feelings for each other. OMG, I thought Nathan was boring BEFORE he was dead for 7 years. Now? Welp. I'm rooting for these two because I'm a Spixie Fan. That's the only reason.  I guess they are "Nulu"?

CODY'S MAD AT MOLLY:  OMG! Molly wrote a book! Cody is Casey-- he's a big, dumb Golden Retriever. Probably about 45 people will even read the book let alone care that Cody is 'in it'. Very contrived fight. I did however appreciate Cody sleeping on a saddle but I did miss him cuddling with Comet.

TRINA'S MAD AT HER MOM: Portia drops by and gets stuck talking in circles to Trina about their relationship. Trina doesn't want to hear it. Neither do we.

JABRITT  FORGE AN ALLIANCE:  M'lady needs a rescue and who's there...? None other than St. Jaysus and his blue eyes. She tells him the whole Cold Fusion plan. They have zex. Or I think they do--they cut away.

FRANTIC ANNA AND...A WIG:  So, we DID get some more "Faison" voice and Anna freaking out. He finally comes into the room...and we see the back of a head. White hair sticking out all over. Anna gasps. THEN? Nothing. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO--THING. Zip. Nada. Ziltch.

JOSS AND ROSS: SPY VS SPY:  In an unintentionally HILARIOUS set of scenes, Joss actually blows up a transfer station (after thinking about it for maybe 30 min) and sneaks on to Wyndemere in a BOAT because she was "going to a party". Ross is there. We find out he has the Anna book and Cigarettes. He stares at Joss.  Is he really Faison under there? Who knows. I haven't been this disappointed in anything in forever.

I THINK THAT'S IT!! Now if I forgot anything, I'm sure it wasn't important. Maybe the writers needed a little break after giving us the fantabulous stuff of the Drew Trial and Willow meltdown? The Cold-Fusion Five Poppies Intrigue has reached saturation at this point. The Faison stuff was shocking at first but now? Meh. I'm almost 100% sure Faison had surgery to look like Cullum and took over the WSB and is now going to fixate on Josslyn like he did Felicia. Just a hunch. Not sure how they'll get his voice inside that man but??   Anyway, you get my feelings about the show last week. After sitting in my OWN storm on Monday and having temps in the single digits all week, I was hoping for so much more.

Willow's going to get her Nurse Ratched on with a paralyzed Drew soon. Could be juicy...

They show Ric again!

Kirsten Storms is due back and that's why Nathan and Lulu are heating up. I honestly haven't seen many more spoilers but I guess we can safely say that Spoon Island will become the latest spot for a rescue and Faison shenanigans.

CHEERS!  I am subbing a lot next week in my 2 year old group so.. I'll be in and out. The blog will be here daily!

  1. Wow. That is all I have to say.

Thank you Karen for taking the trouble to write up all that for us.

Yup. We have our own snow and sub zero temps this year. Fun stuff. Need a car wash, but too afraid it will freeze. LOL

    1. PS. Ava should have passed out from all those Martinis.

    2. That STILL would have been more exciting than what happened!!

  2. I didn't dislike this week as much as you did, but you know it's a bad sign when the fans can easily come up with better story material than the actual writers.

More should have been done this week with Anna, Lucas and Ava. I think the writers heard people bitch about the lack of romance on the show and this is what they came up with. Not all bad, I would give it a "C+."

I did enjoy Trina telling off Portia, Tracy and Martin sparring (but I agree it went on too long), and Britt finally trusting Jason. The rest? Meh, not so much. I really *don't* like Lulu and "Nathan" getting close.

I'm not sure how I feel about Danny and Charlotte. Someone online did the math and figured out they're second cousins, which are allowed to date in most states and isn't considered in*est. Hmmm. I still think their parents will freak when they find out.

Here is what I do want to see: Pair up Elizabeth with Dante. Liz needs to be front and center in storylines, and I think she and Dante would make a good couple.

  3. Always a great SS, no matter what you have to work with. Thank you.
The first paragraph of expectations is what we all need. What we got is not.
Joss is totally laughable. Maybe if she went back to being a blonde...
If two 17 year old kids kissed and realized they were cousins of any sort I would think they might puke.
The best thing of the week was the coincidence of "The Blizzard Warning" in PC when in fact we had a snow event at the same time.
Heat wave this week...temps rise to about 30* for a day or two. Stay warm.
