You all know about Epi-Pens...right? Well Willow delivered an EPIC pen to Drew this week and it was just SO Soapy!! I about fell off my chair at the shock of it all. Something that huge is hard to pull off for sure. Another surprise came during the week as well, in a form of a voice that haunts our Anna.
Ok, buckle it up, get some beverages and let's GO GO!
Thank you to Sloan Rush and everyone that takes Screen Cappies all week. I'd be lost without you!
* Hard decision to post or not today but... I thought we could all use this.
THE AUDACITY OF GREATNESS: Oh Willow. I mean, we saw you shoot Drew in flashbacks but no idea this was going to happen!! The build up was great because Drew was getting more and more out of control in every scene. He's basically insulting everyone and trying to get Willow all to himself. The cane was a 'clacking more than ever! First Nina comes over and he convinces her to leave. Next up is Chase with the flowers and HE leaves. Now Willow has him all alone. First comes the champagne and by the way she was being all nicey-nicey I thought for sure she poisoned it. I was thinking: OH! We are going to see a slow poisoning over time. Cool. AND NOPE!! She goes behind him while he's describing their idyllic vacation and WHAM-O! BAM! Right in the neck!! Drew made HISTORICAL Soapy-type faces! Willow was the picture of a soap psycho. Oh be still my heart. Kate MacMullen was superb. I bet she's been waiting for something other than the whiney damsel in distress. KUDOS to all: writers, director, actors and the person that runs the lighting. EVERYONE-- just: thank you.
THE CURIOUS: Some people are wondering what's going on when it comes to Drew. Tracey thinks Jason had something to do with the whole thing. Kai is suspicious because he knows Willow shot him--twice. Nina's a bit on edge too because she sees Willow's waterworks being turned on to the MAX even though she knows she married him to get the kids back. Interesting. I'm sure Trina will be the next one to suspect something. What I'd like to see happen is Nina confiding in Ava and then Ava and Trina talking about the whole situation. Then they can start an nice art-heist story together!
VOICEMAIL: Now we jump over to Anna who's being held in the bowels of Wyndemere.... DUN DUN DUN. First she had the encounter with PK Sinclair book. Next up was the nurse she thought was Dr Obrect taunting her. Next up? Cigar in the ashtray--and Faison's voice pouring from the intercom. In a scene that continued from Friday, he uses psychological warfare to grind her down. Anna even throws up. What could possibly happen next? I'll tell you what... PETER AUGUST in the flesh. When he was shown both Twitter and Bluesky lit up with SO many freak-outs and memes. Such a hated character. "Hello Auntie Anna". Not only that Wes Ramsey chose to do some sort of weird Shakespearian voice and act it up to the hammy-zone. It HAD to be trolling, right? He saw our comments long ago about his over the top drama and just went for it. Cringe-worthy. For me? It worked because Finola sold it. At the time she did feel terrible about Peter dying and her conscious was digging that up. Oh WEE. He grabbed her face too-- Faison used to do that. I'm thinking it was someone in a mask they hired to 'play' Peter (Sidewell and such) and he's not really alive. (WR is going to Days so here's hoping).
CATCHING ON: Finally Emma's upset enough about Anna to go to the PCPD. Who does she confide in? Nathan of all people!! Now we've long suspected he's tied to all the Five Poppies stuff but never have seen even a glimmer of nastiness in him. Maybe in the beginning but the past few months have been DULL DULL DULL. Perhaps this will show us he's in on the plot? Please? Side note: Kirsten Storms is taping again so that whole arc will start to unfold as well. How this ties into Anna's being held captive is still up in the air.
THE ISLAND GANG: Over on Spoon Isle, where the ferry still runs, we have a new little group to focus on. The Lucas story is intriguing and now that Ava is added to the mix, I'm here for it. Joss drops by for a 'tour' and I was giddy with anticipation over Ava's roasting of Joss. She first catches her snooping around the bookcases and then lets her know she's just like her mother. When everyone else is downing the wine, Ava's over there cool as a cucumber drinking her martinis like a bad-ass. By the way, a juiced up Lucas wants to explore the catacombs like he did when he was a kid. Marco freaks out. I'm hoping for more of these characters together. PS. Ava had some awesome boots on!
BRITTA FACTOR: Caught up in all of this is Britt, who needs her medication to not fall into the horrific trap of Huntington's. The bad WSB man has her in a choke hold and just when she's gotten Jason where she wants him, the rug is yanked out. She has to 'give him up' or everything is lost. Ross even threatens Rocco. What's a girl to do? Well, start a fight with Jason's BFF that's what!! Convince her you're moving and then force a 'choice' with Jason. He stands there like a deer in headlights while you flounce out telling him it's over. Will it work? Well, St. Jaysus has those magical blue eyes that is detecting something is fishy in all of this. Why Britt just doesn't tell him and then get Brad to find out what she's taking is beyond me. Then again, if she did that there wouldn't be a drawn out story, right?
CHASING THE WIND: Oh Chase Chase Chase. You have a reckoning coming and it's not going to be pretty. Champion of Willow, hater of Michael and now beat-cop will be facing the fact that Willow a cold-blooded would-be killer. Heh. I'm here for that day!! The Brook Lyn/Chase conversations have gone on and on and on over the years. Now Brook isn't sure she's ready to adopt. It's just a vicious circle. Maybe he'll end up getting Willow pregnant (I can TOALLY see that happening) and that will be it's own story of angsty soapiness. I just want to see him in a blue uniform writing parking tickets. Heh.
OTHER HAPPENINGS:
Portia had her pre-board meeting with Laura and Tracey who seemed sympathetic
Stella apologized to Portia after talking to Isaiah.
Lucas told everyone that Drew could slowly recover or be 'locked in' never to move again
Joss was demoted to "sleeper spy" by Brennan but that didn't stop our girl from doing some things on her own!
Laura and Liz hold a coffee clutch on all the people in their circle leaving for foreign places.
PROP OF THE YEAR (so Far): Give it up for THE HYPODERMIC!! Thank you for delivering a great scene!!
COMING UP! Well, just in time for the real snow-storm hitting up and down the coast, Port Charles will face it's own!! I think this means people have to be trapped on Spoon Island, right? It's hysterical that a boat can still go out there in January anyway, but it's a soap and that's what happens. Who will be trapped with who? (whom?) What places will lose power? Will the hospital treat frost bite? We shall see!
WUBSY WANTS: I think they really need to bring back Cameron (recast because William is doing other things) OR Jake OR Aidan. It's ridiculous. Liz has three strapping boys just waiting for stories and-- nothing. Something HAS to give with the Sonny-mobular saga. I would venture to say I'd like Kristina to begin 'training' because she's just a wallflower who does nothing right now. Then again, Dark Michael could also be perfect. Corporate by day, gangster by night!. I'd like Outback to have puppies. I'd like to see Leo and Olivia more often. Ned too but I know Wally is on Days as well.
FUNDRAISER: I'd like to mention the Zoom Event for Mills Library again. Jon Linstrom will be a featured author with his book: Hollywood Homicide. I'll be in the breakout rooms as well! If you're a reader and want a fun few hours of book-talk, grab a ticket! A Novel Occasion!
THAT'S ABOUT IT! Won't it be interesting to be all tucked in next week living in a snow storm and watching a snow storm? Ok, I know not ALL of us will be in that situation but you can pretend. Get that hot chocolate out!!
CHEERS!
I am sorry, I LOVE Finola and she can bring it with anything given to her, but I like her all "kick butt" and NOT being tortured. The ferry in winter to Windemere is so funny.
ReplyDeleteBaddie WSB guy must be connected to Sidwell. IDK. This needs to be done better.
I liked that Drew got a needle to the neck. He has 9 lives, and that actor will never leave unless he chooses to, so we know he won't die
Thanks Karen. We are due for 12+ inches of snow today. I am a nurse in a hospital, so we won't be closed.
DeleteOh Lindie!! The best to you-- thank you for what you do!!
DeleteYes Lindie!!! Thank you!!!!
