PHEW!! Another week that I really enjoyed. Now that one thing is over, another is starting up! When does THAT happen?? I'll talk more about what's working on the show and a couple of snafu's so sit tight!

Let's give it up for the writers. From the top to the breakdown to the dialog, the conclusion of the Ronnie saga was perfection for me. So many people want ES to come back now and again for visits, it's crazy! She wasn't on that long but I really thought it was a nice, fun arc that lifted my Q loving heart a bit.
IT ALL WORKED OUT: Jane Elliot is a damn treasure. She doesn't submit for Emmys anymore but she really should. Tracey's realization that Monica would have wanted her to embrace Ronnie was a sight to behold. Yes, there was some "should she forgive her" moments but damn, once the "Put a Sock in it" happened, it was all over. Not sure which writer crafted that gem but wow. As soon it was out of her mouth I just melted!! MONICA!! The family at Bobbie's, her going to them and letting them know about Tracey and then the heartfelt talk at the house? Sniff. SO much better than just ending the story at Monica's death and Tracey getting the house. :Clapping: Bravo. 'Sister of my heart'
THE LAURA LECTURE: Oh, Martin. I do love his character but dang. They write him SO up and down. Forging the Will as a prank would have been the way to go, imo. (not sure how to pull it off but he could have said "Smile, you're on candid camera" at some point!) They absolutely glossed over the whole drugging thing btw. Ned decides to bring him to Laura instead of jail which was an interesting choice. Maybe the writers love him as much as I do and gave him a soapy "out" on this one. Laura lectured him bigly and he has to move out of her apartment. Maybe he'll end up with Drew.
THE GIO FACTOR: I also saw some 'chatter' about Ronnie having her last goodbye with Gio. Look, they are both people 'outside' the Q family. He's the youngest to appear and be disenchanted with them . Ronnie is the latest and oldest. I just think it was a wonderful way to bookend the whole story. The diner, the talks...the love. Gah. Maybe I'm just an OG Soap Watcher but it just had all the feels for me.
HALLOWEEN HIGHLIGHTS: WOW! I didn't think we'd get Halloween!! Not only did we get it, we had a Maxie birthday mention! They also honored Sam's memory with great Danny and Scout scenes. Do you know that James has worn a cowboy outfit every year he's been played by Gary James Fuller? (I love that his name is Gary!!) Cute Cody and Molly scene as well. *sigh* Again, a delight. OH! AND...Drew left for DC so we didn't have his face around!! yeah!
LABORATORY LORE: Oh man. Ok, this story is good but ONLY because of what's happening with Anna. (I'll get to that in a minute). I DO like the set up of the Faison-Factor and the experiments happening. Problem is, it's just gone on SO SO long. I think things are coming to a head finally though because Wyndemere is primed for shenanigans. Pascal the PJ guy showed up (crushing on Marco) and Sidwell is ramping up his threats. While the WSB piece drives me nuts because I'm not a Brennan or Vaughn lover, I'm hoping it gets better. Carly and Valentin? A great twist. Mean Valentin? Love it. Love Carly just doing this on her own as well.
ANNA'S ANGST: Are we lucky to have Finola or what? WOW. Her fear of Faison is so palpable it jumps right off the screen. All the feels came up for me from when he was on the show. Anders Hove was a commanding actor that just took over the screen. Faison morphed from obsessed weirdo to a sinister, madman that couldn't be stopped. Anna knew this. She also knows that even though she followed him into the autopsy and SAW HIS BRAIN removed, he could still be alive somehow because he's basically the undead. Now, all of this could be a ruse to mess with Anna. How better to terrorize someone than with fear and frenzy even if it's fake? Just believing the possibility of him showing up is enough for her to spiral. Is she under Wyndemere? I suspect she is. Also: those 'messages' were fake that she left for Brennan and Emma. Only Laura seems to suspect that. Why? She's a Webber/Spencer that can smell a villain a mile away. (see; Helena). Good stuff. Loved it and I hope Genie is in on this story 100%
THE RACE: This brings us to a puzzling part of the show. We've heard about that damn pier forever it seems like. In the summer Erza was everywhere being a pill and getting on people's last nerve. Now that it's election eve, we haven't seen him for EONS. Seems so strange. I know Genie was on break but he should have at least popped up now and then in some scenes. Now a mayoral 'debate' is happening at PCU. Will they even show it? Doubtful. Just a weird arc, imo. PS. No one cares about those piers lol
PRODUCT PLACEMENT: There I was, fangirling over Peter Stormare (of Fargo fame) and... I find out it's a "Call of Duty" placement! Now, ask yourself--do we play videogames? I mean, ANY of the GH viewership? Maybe? Someone did recognize the pin he had on as something from the game. ME?? totally thought it was an evil-baddie placement. If you saw him in Fargo, you'd know I was just giddy about that prospect! NOPE! Now, management must have decided that some Disney tie-in was enough to get this on? I honestly have no idea. I mean, for a minute I was happy AF (is he Faison in a mask? Faison's brother? what?!) --then, boom. Also, there was a whole scene with him and Felicia that they CUT. Um. Why? It's up on IG under the GH account if you want to see it. Just weird. Think about the writers: Hey! Insert Call of Duty into the mix somehow!! geesh!
ALSO RANS: Emma and Gio pull in Rocco and Charlotte for the Lab-Caper. Many Brad mentions this week. Can I hope? Sonny took Turner out on a date with axes and pasta. Some Jordan/Portia and Curtis/Marshall/Laura talk about the pregnancy. Britt found out, told Portia to help her get her doctor's license back OR ELSE. :eyeroll: I honestly almost didn't even remember this part of the show!

Rocco then Emma fail at getting the key from Britt but Char says she can do it (Cassadine :)
Ronnie goes back to Durham after Monica bequeaths her money for a house.

Dalton wants to cut Sidwell out of the profits of the project
Anna's tied up in some basement and no one suspects a thing except Laura
Sonny and ADA Turner go out for some Ax throwing
Product placement for "Call of Duty" gets Wubsy excited then let down.

WARDROBE SHOUT -OUT: If you saw Ava's red dress on Friday you know what I'm taking about. Oh lah lah. The shoes too!!!! Also, was that scene with Sidwell just inserted? We never even saw her get there or anything! Thx again to Sloan R for the photo!
I don't really have predictions this week because I'm too tired to sit and muse!! This was a LONG blog!! I didn't write up the whole Sonny/Turner "romance" because I don't even want to get into it. Just know they are both playing each other and yada yada. Will they really fall for each other? Probably. That's his MO. (get it? MO? Ha ha). Also: Yes, I want Brad back and PLEASE and we need Liesl because I know she knows Sidwell (right?! she has to).

ReplyDeleteThe scene between Felicia and the lurking guy was just odd. I initially thought it was Peter/Henrik in a mask. But no, it was just some bizarro promotional thing. Seriously, will this get any more sales for "Call Of Duty" I doubt it. The only time "GH" did something worse was that time that Colonel Sanders showed up to offer advice to Maxie. LOL
ReplyDeleteThe Ronnie/Tracy/Quartermaine storyline was great, and I loved every minute. I also like Carly scheming against Jack, and Ava getting pulled into Sidwell's web.
I'm mostly enjoying "GH" these days so I will mention the bits I don't like, because they drag down the show a little, IMO: Nathan's return (unless he turns out to be a villain, there is no need for this); ADA Turner (I like the actress but we have literally seen this storyline before many years back); Maxie's health crisis (unless Kirsten Storms is really going to return, they should've had Maxie, Spinelli and the kids move to NYC or London to further Maxie's career, we've had too many comas on this show); and that fact that no one is pressing Britt more about how she turned up alive.

The Q story was sublime but too short. Very unlike any other GH story lines.
Who shot Drew is too long. Who cares.
Not familiar with lurking hospital man actor. Or the placement product. But I will say that BTG does it outright and shamelessly quite often.

Lucas is heading for trouble. Hoping that "Mighty Mouse" will save the day (Brad).

ReplyDeletebig time lost weight and she was never large - I think the GLP thingy - which is fine - but looking at the 2021 episodes and now - lots of weight.
Delete-----it's just hard to know what Frank and writers will do - for ME, it is too obvious that it is Faison, so I think it's not.....so for ME, this will be interesting to determine if Frank and writers drop all hints and it IS Faison, then NEXT time I will know it's gonna happen!

----It's been a long time since I couldn't wait to watch GH and this week because of Jane Elliott and Erika Slezak, I was hooked (nothing against younger actors but these women are mesmerizing.)
-----I AM intrigued about Felicia's papers - are they papers he served??? Where is Stella in all of this Curtis/Portia stuff? I read that Gio and Emma are shocked by what they see in the lab...................is it gonna be another dead person?????? I even wondered if Maxie is there.
--------it is my weekly HOW is Nathan not concerned that he missed 7 YEARS? he is quite boring.
-------WAY past time to recast Kevin.......so I think the vote is this week and I STILL think Sonny wins ---- cause if Sidwell won, then there wouldn't be much drama.....OR the worst case scenario would be Ezra is mayor, Sidwell takes over and ya'll that is 4 YEARS of that crap.....which is why I think Sonny wins....
