Sunday Surgery: Got A Match?

 

I almost feel like you don't even need to read this week's blog because nothing really happened that makes a huge difference. Ok, maybe one or two little things but overall? Nah. I'm rapidly losing patience and that's saying something since I've been doing this so long!! 

I'm not even angry--just bored. That's a bad bad sign for a soap, especially when it's gone on this long. I will do my duty and fill you in where I can.

I'm having expresso because I need a jolt. 

THE DREW STORY:  Ok, he's manipulative and even had Willow fly to Germany to be 'rejected' by Michael. But--you know what??? This could have been so much more. How? One--Nina confess to her sexual history with him or two, get the Portia medical angle going. What do we get instead? A 1977 hair-brained plot by Nina and Portia to 'SLIP HIM A MICKEY" and be photographed with some rando prostitute they hire in 10 min off the internet. Call me crazy but--WHAT??? Things move so damn slowly that if Drew IS under some kind of medical distress, we won't know about it until 2026 at this point. In the meantime we can suffer through whatever it is he's trying to do. Gross. 

PS. NO MORE ZEX SCENES with him please.

THE SONNY STORY: So, Sonny goes to get his heart done and ... we get more Brick, Carly and coffee. Sonny has a bunch of flashbacks and then a nurse walks into his room to inject him. 

He wakes up and I bet boots he ends up injecting HER and Carly finds her on the floor. We all know Sonny's not dead so this is a nothing burger. 

THE KAI STORY: Every week I seem to write the same damn thing. EVERY. SINGLE WEEK. This kid better have that stupid operation soon!!  Do I care if he's in a wheelchair forever? No. Wins the Heisman Trophy? Nope. His family couldn't even be bothered to come back from overseas to be there. YAWN. --also see: Poor Trina. Surgery! Surgery! Surgery!! UGH

THE LULU STORY: So, she gets a giant new house (the old Luke set when it was in BW)-- and is writing a column in the paper about adoption. She can't keep her mouth shut about anything and antagonizes Brook Lyn every time I see her. Also, Dante's hanging around. I think Charlotte evaporated. I just don't like her character at ALL. I think Alexa is a good actress but damn. Every time Lulu is on I'm like "TURN THE VOLUME DOWN"!! 

THE JORDAN STORY: Glad she's getting airtime but frankly, don't care about this arc or the ESPLANADE so.. there ya go. PLUS she had to 'give up' the hot doctor for this? UGH 

DUMPSTER TWINS:  Emma somehow fell into a dumpster and Joss helps her out. This Joss WSB Story is TERRIBLE. Can I tell you I missed the day the professor was introduced, saw him ONCE walk into the GH lab and then...nothing? NOTHING!! This is in 2 weeks time. You can't do stone-age rollouts anymore and expect us to care. 

THE MOLLY STORY:  Hey, Cody !! Put your shirt back on because my mom is trying to commit my sister and we need to go!!  Now we Davis Girls can be all mad again and ... be all angsty. The BEST thing to have done with this story was to have Alexis commit her against her will while Sonny was having his operation. Ava would have gotten some money to carry on, but the Krissy story would have at least have been somewhat interesting. 

NOTE: I'm kinda liking the sweet Molly/Cody story but ONLY because the actors are making it work. Still annoyed AF they never mention TJ but usually when those 2 are on screen together I know it will be fun. 

THE AVA STORY: "I'm in the money....I'm in the money"... She and Ric fool around and she asks for more moolah from Alexis. That's about it. 

THE MARCO STORY:  He's the hot new character that's getting a lot of airtime. He's just gotten a job with Davis and Miller. It's completely unethical and puzzling but, you know, they'll make it work. He's also got Lucas fascinated. Me? Meh..we'll see. So far he's pretty boring as stories go.

OTHER STUFF: 

Natalia was fired by Deception Ladies. 

Brook and Chase want to adopt and use the same adoption agency that Lois did. Lois is flumbuttoxed 

Sasha cops to Jason she took money from Sidwell. Jason is disappointed. 

45 people came into Carly's Kitchen for  a chat

No one is running Charlie's that I know of...

Cody taught Donna to make 'some knots'

Tracey gave Ezra some money to help with getting Sonny's docks

Elizabeth isn't even in the injury story apparently, she's just upstairs. 

My word for GH is: AIMLESS.  Just aimless.  So many things dropped, characters just fading away and maybe popping up here and there. Stories that start ...then just muddle around for awhile... it's maddening.  Can we focus on some families? Like REALLY FOCUS? Spixie are juggling kids of all ages and we never see them. We get one Rocco/Danny scene every other month. Scout? um...?? Aiden??  This political junk is NOT EXCITING. We know Sonny isn't going to die. Deception would have a great story if it was woven into the WSB,  animal lab testing, crooked lab professor, Joss and Emma and Sidwell selling inferior minerals that cause deformity. OR SOMETHING! And make the story arc for 3 months tops. Ok, I'll shut up!
