RATINGS Fall For GH...again...

With the ratings game getting more and more important, GH hits new lows in key demos--again. While OLTL  hit 2.0 for 3x last week, they get the honor of the one being cancelled. There's not justice in Mudville people!!

  1. Yikes! This isn't good. Whenever I see ratings lately, it is frightening to think, "How low can they go?" When they keep offering us material like they are, keep adding newbies to an already crowded canvas, get rid of great talent (Lexi, Tyler, etc.) and don't seem to value their actors or viewers, then what else do they expect?

  2. GH deserves these low ratings....if only ABC cared.

  3. They're playing right into Katie Couric's hands with the writing as horrible as it is. I loved this show for so many years. It's just sad.

  4. I have to agree. GH deserves these ratings.
Many many people have begged for change, and though it was promised to us, it never happened.
    They deserve this.

  5. In the past few months I have tried to watch. End up turning it off after the first 5 minutes.

  6. its so tragically obvious that GH is being deliberatly destroyed bit by bit, scene by awful scene, to ruin the ratings and vindicate the already made decision to cancel it. I feel sorry for fans who have loved it for ages, for the people who have to work with this stuff...
    its done....:O(

  7. I don't believe the show is being 'deliberate' in destroying GH. I just think they don't care like they pretend to because the end is so near.

  8. I agree with Hope..I think that this is deliberate. If they chase us away with poor writing then it will not matter to many when it is replaced in the schedule by Katie. See how politically correct I am being...ABC is not announcing cancelling the show..they are just letter the stations choose to pick up Katie instead. I bet the stations are getting a big bonus to go with Katie.

  9. As much as I like Ethan, how can anyone believe that watching him talk to a painting is going to help keep viewers watching? If it isn't deliberate it's petty damn stupid.Well, nightime TV shows eventually all die out or get stopped while they are still good so I guess we were fortunate to get more longevity out of our soaps.

  10. I know this blog is mainly about ABC soaps. While I love my ABC soaps (most of them....ok just OLTL right now), I must tell you all about the new Days of our Lives! Please check out my post about the show you SHOULD be watching! Would love to hear feedback.

  11. The reason for the low ratings is boring and repetitive writing. Not giving the fans anything they want. Plus as Melodybluez said, getting rid of great talent and adding a bunch of newbies. If ABC would listen to the fans and hire much better writers, then maybe the ratings would improve.
