Seems like Julie Marie Berman may have told fans a bit too early that Nathan is leaving GH. In a twitter chat with friends she was "sorry to see him go" and his "talent has been wasted".
Figures the one character that brings a smile to my face may be leaving. SOD has this this to up, which is a RETWEET of Julie's tweet.
GH/ABC says: "No Comment"

He reminds me of Luke. Which is never good!
Ridiculous! All I can say is that as an Ethina fan I'm praying the new management doesn't have Ethan leaving the canvas with the nightgown-clad orange-faced mute woman. It's a very sad day.

Is Ethan leaving or is NP leaving...or in other words is the role of Ethan being recast? Perhaps with someone younger looking...or in other words a better match for Xtina especially if they bring the young looking LA back?
ReplyDeleteIf the character of Ethan is leaving here is how I would like it to play out. TR comes back to play Robert during Robin's exit story...it is revealed that Ethan is actually Robert's son and leaves with Robert when TR finishes his stint.
Once Nathan leaves, IF he leaves, I will no longer be watching GH. Everyone I like/liked has been fired, has left or is leaving. This damn show. *facepalm*

ReplyDeleteI think there was a link on here to an interview with NP about this whole Boredamyre storyline (at TV Guide, maybe), and he mentioned his contract being up right when they start to give him a juicy storyline..
Oh...is Nathan leaving out of choice or he being fired???

ReplyDeleteShirleeDee - I understand NP is young and don;t get me wrong I quite like him. In fact, he has emerged as one of my favs. It is just that some people think he looked too old alongside LA. IF they are bringing LA back I simply questioned whether they might be considering a younger looking Ethan.
ReplyDeleteWith rumours that JMB is leaving as well I guess Port Charles will soon be Spencer free. Not many Q's, Hardy's or Scorpio's left either.
I really like Nathan and I will say Ethan as a character has developed a bit on his own, past stepping out of "I'm just like my dad" sort of shadow of Luke when he first arrived. However, I just cannot get on board with Ethan, mainly because his being Luke's "love child" with Holly has ruined the Luke and Laura history and also, I just cannot get into his strolling around Wyndemere, almost obsessed with Laura, a woman he's never met. Having a Spencer who hasn't been a Spencer all that long in the storyline just doesn't fly for me. But, I guess they had no choice but to put Ethan there. Nik is gone, Lucky will be gone and they've had Lulu far too busy with Dante and her wedding fears which have sent her to the bottle (just like dad) too many times to put one of those characters in the storyline.
ReplyDeleteI worry for Julie, if she let the cat out of the bag. The Powers that Be at GH seem to have exuded their wrath at actors/actresses in the past for letting cats out of the bag. In her scenes, she just seems bored and frustrated...maybe she doesn't care if she did let something slip.
In any case, GH seems to be cleaning newbie house these days with characters like Abby also gone. I hate to say it, but actually, the housecleaning was needed. They have far too many characters on the canvas and aren't using the fine talent and veteran talent they could use more effectively.
Ethan has served no purpose on the show. His most recent storyline has been a joke, so I can't say I'm sorry to see him go. Nathan deserves better.

1. Luke always has been and always will be the best part of the show. Hopefully the new writers can give Tony Geary some great writing (it's pretty bad, when the best stuff on the show is when they let the actors adlib).
ReplyDelete2. Making Ethan a Scorpio is a bad idea, he looks too much like Lucky.
3. I don't get the "he looks to old for Kristina" bit, he's 23 and she's 19, that age difference is more than acceptable.
4. They need to kill Sonny off, have Lulu do it when Sonny points a gun at Dante. (or have Spinelli do it in self defense)
5. Bring back Bobbie, Alan, Sean and Tiffany, AJ, Faison, Duke, Jimmy Lee.
I read somewhere that the the new regime was going to focus on the Spencers, which seems ridiculous with JJ, NP and probably JMB and TG leaving. NP has really grown on me and I like the lightheartedness of Ethan. Too bad they didn't let Lucky have some of that. His contract is up and I'm sure he wanted to get off the sinking ship before it actually sinks, and I can't blame him.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't read too much into this. There have been rumors of some of these people, TG, MB, JMB, etc "supposedly" leaving for months now and I don't believe any of it until the actor says it themselves, so I would just take it for what it is, "rumors" only. I personally would love to see the Spencers with some happiness again and wish that Laura returns. Bring back Kristina and keep her and Ethan together and I am glad to see Lulu and Dante getting married. The new writer that came from OLTL, loved to focus on history of family, so I am hoping he does the same thing for GH.
