Jake's Death: So Many Questions, So Many Holes...

One HAS to wonder if there's a hole in a certain head-writer's head to have green lighted this mess. You know I' going to talk about it, and after a morning of chatting on twitter, I'm ready!!

The NY Post had an article that came out on Tuesday titled "4-year old soap death enrages Fans"
With a crying Burton heading the piece, it goes on to post some messages that were left on the ABC board  about the story. My problem with the article is that it's about Jake's "Death" and not the poorly written story arc itself. Yeah, we're all sad that Jake is gone, but  if it was written in a decent manner, I could deal. This shoddy, rushed half-told story is just so off in so many ways, one has to wonder if they even bothered to plan it out.

From the article:
While Jake's death brought life to fellow Port Charles resident Josslyn Jacks -- Carly and Jasper's year-old, cancer-stricken daughter who will get Jake's transplanted kidney -- his shocking death sent the show's passionate fans into a tizzy.

It took WEEKS and WEEKS  to get Brenda back to Port Charles. Guza wanted a "back story" about her charity work, her engagement to a movie star and numerous run-ins with Balkans "hench-men". *sigh* It was torture. Fast forward to this hit and run and transplant. It happened in TWO DAYS! Hell,  Joss was out and in her crib (not even with tubes) after a blink of a soap eye. It was surreal. It made the bus crash look like a full length mini-series!!

This story has become about WHO hit Jake. Since we know from the spoilers that are out there, this will indeed be a very powerful tale. I don't know how they'll pull it off given the enormity of the situation and the icon of a character. It will be like taking the last of GH's vets and throwing them to the wolves. Nice. Can't wait. It might be better if Bobbie was around-- or Laura....or Leslie..or anyone else from the past. Not having Mac or Maxie around during the actual transplant pre-scenes was stupid, imo. The gaping hole of GH's invisible history was so evident during this story, it hurt.

There is speculation that Franco has Jake. It would be nice to think that but how could it be? Where would even he have gotten a 4 year old to switch bodies with? (gross as it sounds). No one saw him after the operation-- and assuming that Scrubs didn't know it was him, was he switched before his brain stem became detached? If he was switched after, how did a missing 4 year old have organs to donate? If they pull off such a story it will defy even "soap logic".  They could have maybe pulled it off  if it wasn't for the kidney transplant I guess.
Eh, I don't know. If Franco does have Jake, it will probably make me more angry than his death. I hate when story manipulations are that transparent and stupid

We all know the missing player list in this story. Why they didn't take the time to have Maxie and maybe Mac in there to talk about transplant success is beyond me. Pay Leslie C to come in for a day to find out Jake was indeed her grandson and hug Jason. Bobbie--ah, Bobbie. :throws up hands:. I was just thinking yesterday that the only characters left from the '80s are  Tracy and Luke. (Mac is close, he came on in 1991).  With Tony's vacations and Jane on less and less when he's gone, GH's canvas just pales in comparison to the other ABC soaps.

MAYBE Guza's giving us all a giant middle finger on this one. That's what it feels like to me, anyway. I'm sure he was tickled pink that the story made it to the NY Post--good PR or bad.

And this in no way is an actor bash. They rocked every line. I think you know I respect them all-- certainly not their fault no one even bothered to make this feel "true".

Hey,  don't fret..they are bringing in yet another kid to ignore--Brenda's boy. Kill off the last tie for Liason fan's and bring in another boy about the same age. Bizarre.

So, questions of the day: Do you think Jake is really dead? How do you feel about the reveal of the driver? Are you done watching GH? Did you think this story was told well?

I do believe Jake is dead. Whether he stays that way is another story. I wouldn't put it past TPTB to change that if the fan fire gets too hot.

Very disappointed in the driver reveal. I'm disappointed that it's someone we all know and love. It's too horrifying for Lucky & Liz to have to deal w/ that on top of losing their son.

But no. This won't make me stop watching the show. I'm interested in seeing what happens with Aiden's paternity reveal and the impact this will have on Jason and Sam.

I so forgot about the Aidan reveal!! woww..LOL!

For some reason I canno longer sign in. Ah the joys of Blogger!

I want Jake to be alive. I don't care how realistic it is. it would bring more great acting moments for the reveal of that. God I felt every word becky cried out. And JJ... he was just JJ. Awesome. I am outraged at how they portrayed Carly. Such poor taste. And did nayone else thing Scrobs could have had a love scene, at least touching hands or kissing? Not necessarily sexual.

Did I miss something on the Drivers reveal? I just watched Tues & Wed eppys and I was pretty emotional so spoilers on Wubs.net say (or point to) Luke. The end of yesterday's points to Carly.
Someone please confirm!

Karen, this was so awful, there are almost no words. They have started rushing stories like crazy--the bus crash, Sam's deafness, Joss's illness and the surgery, no time given to any of those stories. This is CRAZY writing, you are supposed to show a story, not tell it. (Imagine writing a book and just telling a story: Someone was born, then this happened, then that happened, then they died.) The art of writing is making the story unfold so that we can believe it is real, on some level. Like you said, it will be a "who done it," which might drag out, but probably not, if it's Luke. I'm hoping it's not Luke, that would be HORRIBLE, it's all so depressing, it's not like the whole world situation isn't depressing enough.

I hope against hope that Franco has Jake, he's such a cute kid, good actor, and PERFECT as Jason's son.

If Sonny and Brenda leave (or, maybe even just Brenda), I'm done with this soap, which has been a part of my life since I was a child. I NEVER THOUGHT I'd ever leave, I'm like the most loyal person in the world, but this is all just too much. I'll walk away with my Sonny & Brenda happy ending, and keep those memories.

kdmask said...

you are right Rita... it's Luke. I just don't know how they'll make it work, especially if he was drinking

I believe he is dead too. Liz said on the show yesterday that this will not be another Lucky. There is no way for Jake to come back from the dead like Lucky did. I think that was a Guza subliminal message.
I agree fully that the who dunnit storyline is now going to overshadow the death of Jake. I'm already sick of it. That is going by really quickly too.

I am going to stop watching after all the Jake stuff is done. It isn't just because of this story. It has been a long time coming and this is the last straw. I do hope it gets better for you fans that stick it out, but I just can't take it anymore.

Regarding the reveal it sounded like they were going to shelf it. Not sure why Liz will decide this but with TC leaving, obviously this should be revisited. I myself am fine with Franco having Jake. We have dealt with Casey the alien in the 80's, somehow a kid can be alove. You notice they keep saying Joss got 1 kidney. Why not take them both? hmmmmmm Hate the idea of brend'a baby coming on canvas. It would be more believable & welcomed if the baby was Jax's. Obviously that hispanic looking child is not a jax.

So many people are offended over Jake's death, the shoddy writing that was thrown together so fast with no build up at all. I'm reading everywhere that people are saying they are done with GH. Don't know if the motive was just ratings or to upset a whole block of viewers but if ratings take a dive I do believe Jake will be turning up at Franco's mom's house again. Nobody is really ever dead on a soap.

Anonymous said...

I meant the aidan reveal

Anonymous said...

At this moment yes I believe he is dead.
Luke as the driver, well why not. Lucy will help him make an escape--I hope it is the straw that breaks the L&L2 back.
I haven't watched since the end of '08 and wanted to support BH in this s/l but I'll stop again after this wk. because the rest will be crap again.
No it was like watching a movie with the FF button on. It was sloppily written and the execution was atrocious. I did appreciate the acting Becky showed what she can do given the chance to shine. I hated that the focus wasn't primarily on her--the Joss thing was dumb. I felt/feel that GH has no appreciation for it's fans or it's on history.

I agree that the acting was stellar but there were huge holes due to the writing and/or editing. I can't even discuss the time frame issue between Jake coming out of surgery and Joss going into surgery. It completely blows my mind when I try to add it all up. So I choose to skip that part and head straight to the transplant issue.

My nephew (in law) had a heart transplant last year, for which we are all very greatful. He was in the hospital in a "clean" room for well over 6 months while they had to kill off his immune system and he waited for a donor. His parents and any visitors had to wear gowns/masks/ when they saw him. After the surgery he was back in that "clean" room (after the ICU) and again, everyone had masks/gowns/gloves. They should have atleast had Carly/Jax/Michael in gowns/gloves (I forgive the masks since it is a soap). The door should have been shut and Luke should have rapped on the window and Carly could stepped out to speak to him.

There is only so much that I can suspend my belief over. I try to overlook a lot of the little stuff. But I am also not too happy that GH missed this opportunity to do a PSA over the last 3-4 days about the importance of organ donation.

You know, I have been thinking about the Luke reveal and I am sad. I keep thinking about the horrific things that Liz and Lucky have been through and how Luke will now be linked FOREVER to these things. Liz' rape was what set off Lucky finding out that Luke had raped Laura and now Liz' child will be killed during ?a drinking binge? by Luke. I am curious to see how this will affect Liz and Lucky and their relationship. I guess I will have to stay tuned to see.

As for the story itself, I agree completely that sometimes a well written child's death is powerful. The death of a child is awful even though I can speak from the experience only as a by-stander in that my husband lost his daughter to cancer. As we watched the story unfold in a day I was the most profoundly impacted by my husband's take on things. He doesn't watch GH but sat by with me as I watched these eppys the other day. He remarked to me about how quickly they found the cancer and did the transplant, etc. He said that he understood that I liked the soap because of its surreal stories that let me "escape" but he didn't understand how such an intelligent woman (thanks, sweetie) could be drawn into a story so poorly written about such a meaningful story. He walked me through the MONTHS of waiting to find out a diagnosis and DAYS of figuring out the best course of action and talking to many doctors before anything was settled. He was shocked to learn that they would play it out as something that could happen in hours and he is curious to know if they will forget that Joss even had cancer in a week with the speed of the story so far. I can't help but think that GH writers will get so caught up in other things (Luke being the driver, Lucian's arrival, etc) that they will simply put Joss back into her playpen in invisible land and never even follow up with her illness . . . but, because I love GH I will be sitting here watching to see!

I agree that Scrubs should have had a better reunion.

Jake should be alive! All soaps have unbelievable stories...

Gosh Becky can rock emotional scenes. I was surprised she didnt; mention Ems death.

I have set my DVR to record this week's shows and in all honesty I have not watched them yet. I know that Becky, Steve and Jonathan will knock it out of the park with their acting but I am extremely upset with the death of Jake. Granted, they are using this death to give life to someone, but truth be told, I do not feel that is the ultimate reason for the storyline.

Foremost, I was never a Jason and Elizabeth fan nor am I a Sam and Jason fan. I liked Jason with Robin but I have watched GH faithfully over the years. The problem I have with the writers, producers, or whoever, is the changing of history and characters. That is the downfall of GH and the killing of Jake is just the last straw for me.

In watching all this unfold, I keeping coming back to the feeling deep down in my gut that tells me that this storyline is paving the way for Sam and Jason to ultimately have a baby and even though I am "unpartial" and could care less, that is the ultimate purpose. I don't care how they try to justify it, this fool is not buying their story nor am I going to keep watching it.

This show is no longer the one that I grew up to love and faithfully tape and watch as soon as I got home from school. I am afraid those days are long gone. I do know that I am one less person that will be watching General Hospital and I never thought I would say that.

LindaV said...

I can't help but compare this to watching the BJ storyline. Of course we didn't have spoilers then so the impact was greater. Without actually seeing Jake, even from a distance, in the hospital, the whole scenario was robbed of a major effect. Kudos to the actors and boo to the writers who failed at even recycling an old storyline in a believable manner.

I believe that Jake has died, will he stay that way, I doubt it. He'll return one day. As for the identity of the hit and run driver (Luke), it's just too sad, Lucky hasn't had enough misery Mr. Guza? I'm still watching when I haven't something else to do, and this is sad, I have reached a point where I'm just not caring about the characters anymore. I have nothing invested. The writers have stripped the characters that I once cared about, was trully invested in, down to shadows of who they once where. I never liked Brenda (with any of her romantic interests) and I don't like Sonny. If I was a betting woman, I would lay money on when it's time for Brenda to leave PC she'll either be "killed off" or just leave, giving her and Alexander's kid to Sonny to raise. Because he is such a great father :insert snarky sneer: and that will be the child which shall get the biz.

kdmask said...

Claire, thanks for that story. It really REALLY insults us to no end about the transplant hoo-ha, especially having Joss in her crib, same position (on her STOMACH)afterwards. Bizarre

Anonymous said...

I believe the Jake is dead, but have no idea why they used Jake vs. some other child. As this s/l to be about the who hit Jake and a set up to Brenda's child.

I have always thought that it was Jerry Jacks who was the father of Brenda's child. That Aleksander hired Jerry to find her and he became "obsessed" and forced himself on her by drugging her or some other lame story so she would believe it was Aleksander.

Here are the crumbs to follow:

1. Brenda already having nightmares in NYC in 2007.
2. Already pregnant in 2007.
3. Brenda states she was stalked to Paris where she went to the police and this is when Interpol becomes involved and she gets guards.
4. Fast forward - Jerry Jacks rants about Brenda to Carly
5. Brenda over the past months have made numerous comments about Aleksander just taking what he wanted with no thought to whom he hurt etc.
6. Fast Forward - Long lost child comes to town first thing you do is perform a physical maybe DNA test. Josslyn rejects kidney uh oh.maybe a cross match.

7. Last word "umbrella stories". Carly needs to go to Brenda, does brenda allow her child to sacrifice for another. Brenda needs to be "protected from an even worse villain". In other words she can be stashed somewhere to be pulled out or visited at will.

Just m.o. ... might make too much sense for this show but Guza keeps saying that everything is going to tie in....

Relly who cares about Brenda and in fact the story line of her and Sonny was so over rated and stop watching when Liz and Jason ended in 2008 and only picked up this week by my dismay killing off another key character for future storylines similar to Michael. Sorry why are the other kids vaulabe and this one with so many ties to Port Charles history be killed off. GUZA needs to learn that we hate Sam and Jason together and if he likes Sam so much take her home get her off the show. The Show writing is not up to par, ratings other then this week are sluggish and them killing off main characters to bring new one in is stupid. Why dont they take the lead from One Life to Live and let the original actors grow up on the show so that we can grow with them and feel a connection. IM HOPING THAT JAKE IS STILL ALIVE AND FRANCO HAS HIM FORCING JASON AND LIZ TO GO ON THE RUN TO FIND THEIR CHILD.

kdmask said...

Kim, I appreciate your input but why does this HAVE to be about Liason vs JaSam... there are plenty of fans in both bases that would have been effected by something that was done.

Here's another thing that has not been addressed- Life Support. Just because somebody is removed from life support does not mean they die the minute the machines are turned off. My mother was pronounced brain dead and was taken off life support and lived for another 36 hours. We were told that there was no way of determining a time frame. It could be hours, days, weeks or even months before her heart stopped...my father was told to look into long term care facilities "just in case"...

AS I was catching up on the shows last night I was thinking about the driver. Should it be a random person or someone more on the canvas? It could be a good story with the driver being Luke if TG actually stayed to act it out! Hear are my thoughts:

1. Have Liz and Jax bond over this and become a couple.
2. Have brenda & sonny go away for a year and come back later!
3. have jason finally tell carly off!
4. if #1 does not work then pair liz back with jason. sam needs to go or just give her a decent storyline without a man!
5. I like Maxie with Matt! Show more!
6. More crimson!! Heck change GH to a 1/2 hour show staring MAxie and Lulu and Crimson!!

Nicky said...

I agree. Before this happened, JaSam and Liz appeared to be headed towards a positive living situation.

Nicky said...

The above comment agreeing w/ kdmask that there's not reason this should perpetuate JaSam vs. Liason ...

kdmask said...

Geesh, you guys all bring up more and more points. Liz/Jax....BIG thing missed right there

Anonymous said...

Yes, I think if they don't let Liz and Jax share a scene in this they are IDIOTS! (Ok, I know, I know they are already proven to be idiots) I mean Liz did lose the baby she was carrying for Jax (in a car related accident no less) and this should be addressed. I mean they did, once upon a time, even grieve for that little baby together (planted a tree maybe?).

Interesting point about life support. I suppose they could have had Franco hovering and whisk Jake away. You know, it might even be an interesting twist for him to take Jake away on life support and just torment Jason that he has his kid somewhere even if he's not awake. Hmmm, very interesting thoughts there mosbp, you have me thinking this morning! =)

I am also a long-time fan of GH and I am also appalled at this storyline. And when I think about it, I am appalled at how GH has killed off so many long-term characters over the last few years. Why must everyone die?

What bothers me is that the writers no longer build up characters. They are always introducing new ones and we rarely see a vet onscreen anymore. When you look at the soaps with higher ratings, "The Bold and the Beautiful" and "The Young and the Restless," those soaps nurture the vets and keep them in major storylines. GH does not do that anymore and the ratings have slipped as the shows now revolves around violence and the mob.

GH needs a complete re-write or their viewers will disappear forever. Just like the beloved characters killed off by the writers!

this story was written to get rid of liz, make her go crazy(like laura) and give tony geary his annual vacation. there was no thought or feeling put into this so called story. and yes I am done with GH.

GH has become about the newbies. do fans really care about characters like kate, olivia, shioban, abby, dante, lisa, johnny , ethan and maya. I would rather see more of liz, maxie, lulu, alexis and diane.and keep veteran characters like nicholas and jax, just give them decent material to work with.

I've read your blog for so long and have never posted. Great blog! Always agree with you!
I've watched GH since I was 5 (1980) - grew up watching it with my grandmother.

This storyline (Jake/Joss) was horrible (although the acting was great). At first, I almost didn't want to watch it b/c I knew it would be so sad. I cried when Tonya Jones died, BJ died, etc.... Not one tear when Jake died. It was almost laughable - the storyline was horrible. Like you said, so many missing characters (Bobbie, Maxie, etc....) and we didn't even have time to realize Joss was sick or even the chance to angst about her being ill and maybe not making it. So odd. And Jason watching Jake's surgery was horrible and so not reality. Plus, it angers me that they got rid of Jake b/c you could have had so much to write about storyline-wise in the future with him being Jason's son.

Very shameful. So disappointed in this storyline and so many others right now. I hope they can turn this around.

And, if Franco has Jake and switched the body - then GH is no longer a soap...it is science fiction b/c that is beyond real life. But....with that said - I can see them writing that Franco has Jake b/c he finds out that it was Jason's son. Ugh!

Anonymous said...

Totally ridiculous and insulting to those who have been invested in this show for years ans years; decades for me.

Franco ... pppllleeeaaassseee ... stunt casting that detracts from what used to be the heart of the show

A child's death and a transplant in two episodes ... even if they didn't bring back the day players, Lulu got bone marrow from Nicholas, and we all know about Maxie/BJ heart, Kristina and Baby Lila stem cells ... so much drama that could/should have been explored

The show is unrecognizable to me and easier and easier and easier to skip.

I miss GH and have kept tuning in for a glimpse of the characters and their stories that I used to enjoy so much including the Quartermaines, the Webbers, the Scorpios, the Cassadines, the Spencers, and some Sonny-angst.

There is no more "Love in the Afternoon" and my GH-habit has been fading ... shortly, I will be done.

While the characters mourn the loss of "Jake," I am mourning the loss of my show --

I am almost ready to let go, and move on.

Goodbye GH

Scrubs bore me, sorry. I love the characters individually however. I would be interested in seeing a Lucky/Robin pairing. Surprised that never happened (Robert Scorpio's daughter and Luke Spencer's son?!).

It only makes sense for Liz and Jax to comfort each other. They once had a child that was miscarried, due to Carly ironically. Now Liz's son is saving their (Jax and Carly) daughter... and Carjax are apparently near divorce. OBVIOUS PAIRING.

Question, I heard that the Jax/Courtney/Lucky/Liz surrogacy story was supposed to be Jason/Sam/Liz/Lucky, true? If so, what changed that?

Or, why not a Jason/Liz/Patrick/Robin story? JnR revisited, the chemistry between Pat and Liz explored.

Sam and Johnny, HELLO. Or hell, how about something new and different... a HOT lesbian pairing (Sam and Maxie.. or Lisa).

IDK, so many options if you ask me. Sorry for going on a tangent lol.

mosbp2003 said...

On the Franco front...I watched a little bit of Tuesday's episode and have watched none since, so bear with me if this has been "cleared up". Dante and Sam were looknng at videos of cars that went past Liz's house. Dante pointed out one car with tinted windows and said the plates were not real. Sam suggested it could be a "mob" car and wanted to call Spin. Dante said he would rather rule out the other cars first before getting sidetracked with tracking that car...Franco anyone? And if Franco was there, whose to say he doesn't have Jake. Not that it would be plausible, but not much on GH has been plausible for a very long time...

What TPTB did with this storyline is actually tragic. It took one of the most powerfull and compelling stories on daytime- the Maxie/BJ transplant- and made a mockery of it. Why would the writers even go there if they weren't going to use some of the older characters to bring it all together.

I think that killing off Jake was completely wrong and short sighted, BUT if they were going to do it at least they could have given it beautifully crafted storyline.

Use your history and veterans. Bobbie's absence was glaring, for both Carly AND Liz. The scenes that could have been written for this should have been amazing, but they were not to happen. I understand budget concerns, but I think that if you asked all the viewers, they would rather have one less CGI explosion and have had Bobbie, Monica and Edward back for 2 days of taping.

Instead they brought this in out on no where for a pupose that I don't understand ( I'm sure it has something to do with Jason) and will have it completely wrapped within two weeks. Never to be mentioned again.

Before we start jumping ship from GH we need to start a campaign to get rid of Guza who has played such an instumental role in turning a much loved show into a travesty of garbage. Guza and his stable of talentless scribblers have destroyed the flagship of ABC daytime drama with ill-conceived plots, poorly developed storylines, total disregard of show history, devastation of core families, and the mob-centric filler which has been rammed down our throats for the last couple of decades. Let's face it, fans have always been more enamored with Maurice Bernard's dimples than with Sonny Corinthos' ability to control the city's warring mob factions.

The current storyline which features the death of a child and the saving of another child through surgery is just another example of the dismal attempts to reach previously set standards. The rush to take the story back out of the hospital was evident in the the haste show Joss's recovery and provide emotionally charged footage for submission for Emmy consideration. The story lacked development and the necessary medical considerations involved in transplants. In fact, the entire story was a slap in the face of the viewers who have kept this show going for more than 4 decades.

GH doesn't stand a chance of regaining it's strength as long as Guza and company have any say in what is happening, how it is happening, and when it is happening. What we have been seeing could have been written by a slow fifth-grader.

I've been pondering this for a while now, but I think i've made up my mind...I'm gonna start a Twitter war with Michele Val Jean and anyone else I can find on Twitter from GH. Jake dying, as others have said, really isn't the issue with me. It is the ATROCIOUS storytelling and lack of cohesiveness with the vets. It is LAUGHABLE that Bobbie and Monica haven't been on...hell, they haven't even been MENTIONED! Not to mention Audrey...though I think "Gram" was actually uttered once or twice. GH is a horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE show...and has been for a long while. I could NOT care less about Sonny, Brenda, Jason and Sam...the "main" characters. They BORE ME TO TEARS. All the writers and show-runners should be fired. They are AWFUL. TOTALLY insulting to the intelligence of the audience.

The story is not powerful by any means. Luke being the driver is boring, as he will go off on his self destructive world tour as usual whenever he screws up. Lucky will drink himself onto the floor and be saved by Siobhan. Liz will be destroyed as Guza and Frons intended. Sam will have cancer or some other illness she will overcome as quick as joss in time to have the Jason baby to pathetically replace Jake. Jason will raise his child as now they realize Guza's lesson to all viewers that the mob is not dangerous to kids . Maybe they will even make Michael jason's kid as steve kept harping on the fact that Michael looks like Jake and Jason. Carly and Sonny continue to triumph and rule port Charles. I won't be watching this nonsense just like the other 300 000 viewers GH lost in the past 3 weeks according to new ratings.

Anonymous said...

Luke hits Jake, Lucky will take to drinking because he feels guilty that Luke was rushing to witness L & S's wedding or maybe he will start drinking because it was his father that hit Jake or maybe both thoughts will get him to drink again and Luke will leave town because he will feel he can't be around Port Charles because of what he did and probably was drinking...I don't know how he can leave town if he is charged with hit and run but hey this is GH Iam sure Guza will have some lame excuse up his sleeve to let AG escape for his vacation.

I want to hope against hope that tomorrow we will see Franco get off the phone with Carly playing with a little toy motorcycle and pan to a that cute little mop of blond hair and say "Now what did Uncle Franco tell you about playing in the street?" but I don't think that's going to happen. Why they chose to kill Jake, I have no idea other than to give JaSam a kid of their own. Yeah, I'm a Liason fan but I have long since given up on that ever happening. I couldn't care less how many kids Jason has with Sam. He can marry her and have the damn Brady Bunch for all I care. There was no need to kill Jake. This story is so bad. Not only because they killed Jake, but the pacing and the holes big enough to drive a semi through it. Don't tell me Elizabeth is up in Jake's room. Show me. Don't tell me that Cam knows his little brother is dead. Show me. Joss should have been ill for months, leading up to her being at death's door. Show me CarJax losing it. Then have Carly beg for Jake's kidney. And there is no way in hell I believe that Luke Freakin Spencer is going to end up a baby killer. How is Lucky ever supposed to look his father in the face again? How can Elizabeth ever forgive Lucky forgiving his father? This is why this show is down the tubes.

It would be easy for Franco to kidnap a 4 year old boy who looks like Jake. Then just switch them. Unfortunately the poor kid got hit probably minutes after being switched and hit by that car and ending up brain dead. Could explain why no one would let Liz see Jake (Or who she thought was Jake) because he was so mangled even she wouldn't recognize him. Making this even easier for Franco to pull the ultimate switch-a-roo!

I think Jake isn't dead and that franco grab him and switch him with other little boy(sad) and then followed luke and put the DNA of Jake on the car after wiping off the other kids DNA. Oh if thats the case Johnnyboys, then I really believe jake is alive!! And I will come back then. I have also been wondering how are they gonna bring franco in this time??? the jake thing could be it! But gross and sad if it turns out he hurt someone elses kid to get ahold of jason's son.

Franco having Jake would be the best story line ever .Remember they kept Leslie alive and hidden for how many years .If guz had imagination and talent he could make a storyline work .You either have to be over the top think ice Princess Casey the alien etc. Or very down to earth the real the true story line like BJ and maxie. I hope Franco has Jake and I hope that Liz and Jason get back together or Liz and jack's get-together or whatever .But man killing Jake was just too much for me. Killing what was left of Liz and Jason was just showing how much Guza is infatuated with Sam . I still think Sam should be with Ethan that's apparent . Two cons oh yeah that would be awesome .I love Sam with lucky she was actually independent and not so much Jasons little sidekick .And after what she to jake i still cant believe Jason even took her back . I mean come on Dontay told the truth and Michael went to jail for what sonny and Carly did and Jason can't forgive them for that

I have watched gh for over 30 years. They can find a way to bring Jake back if they want, but if they don't, I am through watching. There are many times I haven't liked but endured story lines but this one went too far. There are so many opportunities with Jake - so many ties. I'll just watch SB, RH and JJ on other things because gh is going to lose a lot of fans over this one if they don't fix it.

I have watched GH for 25 years, and this past week I stopped cold turkey. There is enough sadness in the world, that I don't need to seek it out in a soap. Goodbye GH.

Jake is alive. Liz never saw him before he died or lucky after he died. No one remembers they hit jake because no one did, Franco has him. We're being set up and I'm loving it.

I hope you are right. The fight for finding him and the reunion would be amazing.

For the sake of the longevity of the show, I certainly hope you are right. Fans, like myself included, are so upset with this story line that I will no longer tune in unless a discover a conspiracy is discovered soon and Jake is really alive. Gh was my escape but no more- destroying this character and closing the doors to so many story lines is the worst thing the writers could have done- hopefully they are smart enough to get that and show fans Jake is not dead after all. I will give it a few weeks (perhaps) , only because I'm hoping Jake is still out there, but if it appears the writers are sticking with the current storyline I will no longer tune into a show I've been watching for years.
