ReplyDeleteI can think of many others things they could have cut to give us this important piece of information. Fans of the show want to know how Robert's doing and it was the perfect time to bring it up.
ReplyDeleteI guess a most likely reason for cutting it would be that such dialog would cause viewers to expect both Robin and Robert to turn up soon and perhaps neither actor is available just now. To throw it in just for sentiment is bound to get viewers clammering for them. Not dealing with Robin's absense has already messed up their new romance for Patrick. I would have welcomed some news on Robert's condition, but good news is best and this wasn't.
ReplyDeleteWith Luke going off to Switzerland to seek Jerry and his cure (most likely this will involve the evil doctor, Britt's mom), maybe they hoped to bring in Tristan during Geary's vacation. That would be a smart move. They hired Robert to fill in when Luke was gone before. It worked just fine. Tristan would be a welcome sight!
I was curious as to how anyone even knew about this cut scene. If I hadn't seen Ron's tweet, I wouldn't have known that it had been left on the cutting room floor. I would like to have seen it. Oh well.
