Happy Birthday

The Wub Tub Time Machine

If someone said to me “what is your all-time favorite GH scene?” the answer, of course, would be Sean and Tiffany’s wedding. If someone asked what my second favorite scene would be, well… that’s coming later this week. (stay tuned!) But this is definitely in my “top 5”. And I am willing to bet, if you had a favorites list, this would be somewhere on there too.
I always believed that Wally Kurth and Rena Sofer had incredible chemistry. And apparently, so did they since they got married in real life and had a daughter named Rosalind (after Rosalind Cash, who played Mary Mae Ward on the show). What I never bought was Wally as Eddie Maine. Wally to me has always been clean cut and corporate with a suit and tie. And I really like him as the mayor. That was inspired. Lois was such a breath of fresh air for the Quartermaines. Rena was perfect in this role and being from the east coast, I related to her all the way. She brought so much to the show when she was on it. (She is now on B&B with Scott Clifton, who played Dillon.)

The next time they decide to start bloating the cast again, why not bring back Brooke Lynn in some capacity instead of a newbie?
Im going to try to remember this without looking up, but Lois marries Eddie Maine (Ned Ashton) After that, he is blackmailed into marrying Katherine. Lois finds out that Ned is a bigamist and, instead of confronting him she decides to let the cat out of the bag in a more “celebratory” way. As Brenda put it, “it is the end of the world as we know it”
Happy Birthday Mrs. Ned Ashton!

  2. I loved Eddie Maine. I loved Lois. I loved Lois and Brenda friendship. I loved Sean and Tiffany's wedding. Never laughed so hard during a GH scene in my life. Some great, great stuff

  3. Great scene. OK, so I notice MOST of the cast in that one scene. AJ, Alan, Edward, Kevin, Lucy, Sean, Tiff, Audrey and Steve. Might be some I missed. Those were the days when they actually had most of the cast that were in scenes together. AND, they all looked so gorgeous. No weird clothes or makeup IMO.

  4. Great clip and I remember it so well! I loved Ned and Lois, and yes Sean and Tiffany's wedding was probably the best comedy GH ever did. It still makes me smile. Thanks Dave!

  5. The Wub Tub Time Machine will be open for 3 more days. Then it will be closed.

I think everyone will like my final 3 choices. They are scenes that I imagine everyone has seen before, but I make my comments on them and hope that all of you will take the trip down memory lane and remember them as well.

It has been great doing this and I cannot thank Karen enough. These were my memories of the best of GH and the reason why I still watch almost every day.

Plus, it kept the blog open, which was important to Karen. SO thanks for commenting and sticking with this during her vacation!

  6. That was when I loved GH the most - every day I would make sure to make time to watch it no matter what I was doing. The VCR was the best invention in my eyes. I loved Brenda and either Sonny or Jax (although to this day Frisco and Felicia are my favorite super couple). I stopped watching when Michael was raped in prison, although I still follow this blog and once in a while will catch it on my lunch hour.

  7. I have so enjoyed your flashbacks Dave! Kind of depressing that the good old days are no longer here. I haven't watched yesterday's show yet. Not one storyline is must see tv for me now. There are some good parts here and there though. Thanks Dave!

    1. And how stupid must Julian be to believe that a homeless woman is wandering around with an infant on the same day that Michaels baby dies.

  9. I didn't watch today. Is Brad saying their baby died and he got another baby boy from a homeless woman????????? Is that correct?

  10. Baby Lila's grave: I think it was Lila's grave. Hmmm.

Jasam: Wait!!! What in the hell writers!!!! Jason and Sam are reminiscing about Lila, without Sonny?!!?! There showed a flashback of when Jason told Sam that baby Lila died. New fans of GH, are going to think Jason is the father!!!!!! SONNY IS THE FATHER!!!! SONNY SHOULD BE THERE!!It's been 14 years? So baby Lila would have been 14 years old.

    The floating rib:

Brad and Julian: Brad is not going to the funeral service.. OH MY Brad spilled ALL his guts and told Julian his secret!!! Although lied about the baby's mother and told him that a homeless woman gave him her baby. DOH! *facepalm* Oh great.. More lies! More guilty looks with him! How long are we going to have to suffer seeing Brad's guilty feels on his face? When Julian wants to help!! Brad accepts! They do the hug!

    Alexis's home:

Julian and Alexis: Julian wants to help! Alexis like how Julian is acting. She leaves and Julian follows her.

    Lawyer offices:

Alexis and Diane: They are working together to help Brucus all the while Julian is spying! :) They don't know he is spying!

    The park:

Drew and Curtis: Ahhh. Curtis got a lot of info on Margot! :)

    1. Born Margot Moreno. Parents Vincent and Janet Morino. Father was out of the picture early.

    2. Grew up in Princeton, New Jersey.

    3. Went to law school

    4. Got married once to a David Dawson that ended after a year and a half.. No kids.

    5. After law school she worked as assistant DA in Oakland, California, which is near San Francisco, but it was not a high paying glamours job.

Her info is perfect, but Drew doesn't buy it! Neither do I!!!! It's way too perfect!!! She must be hiding something!!!! Drew wants to date her so he could vet her!!!!!

    Before the funeral:

Michael and Carly: Michael doesn't know what to do! He thinks the condolence book is weird.

Lulu and Michael: Lulu says that Dante gives his condolences.. HUH?! She is able to talk to him while he is at the WSB under cover? Yeah I don't think so. I don't buy it!! People who work at the WSB aren't able to contact their loved ones at all!!! Sorry writers that is a major fail!

Diane, Max, and Michael: WOW! I haven't seen Diane and Max together in a long time!!!!

Oscar and Michael: Michael wants Oscar to console Lulu, cus she is acting all strong.

The funeral: Hmmm. So the only people who talked, was the priest and Joss!!! WHAT THE HELL?!!?!?!? How odd.

    The floating rib part 2:

JossCar: WOW! Joss actually apologized to Oscar and how she has been acting!!!! Well blow me down and shove me into the dirt!! I did not see that one coming!

    Morgan's grave:

Michael is talking to Morgan. :(

  16. Michael says that he wants to bury Jonah near Morgan so that they won't be alone but they never found Morgans body so his grave is empty.

I was thinking about putting up baby Lila's death on here, but don't think it's a very good idea. I don't want you upset. :( So if anybody wants to watch that video it's on youtube.
