CHILI TIME

Robin's home!  She's there for Maxie but is glad Faison is dead. She sees Anna looking online and is curious. Robin says she hates Obrect but she gets why Dr. O gave up Nathan. Robin says there will be 'peace' now. Robin wonders where Finn is.

Alexis has a smear commercial out on her by the opposition--all about her private life.  Alexis takes Finn to go register to vote. Please keep these two friends ONLY! Thank you.  But they go out to lunch after at the Rib (ugh). Guess who walks in? Jules and Kimmy!

Mike says he dropped off the money -- Sonny doesn't believe him. Maybe Mike has dementia? Sonny's going to help Mike and make some phone calls.  Sonny tells him not to work for Caruso. They have a scotch.  Mike talks about Courtney--instead of Carly. YEP!! He's got dementia!! :) NICE. I want Sonny to have it (like The Fear) but this will do.  You know, if Bobbie had it, it would involve a LOT MORE people and we'd care.
So, Mike goes to get the guest room ready for Sonny and Sonny finds the money in Mike's Cuban cigar box. He thinks he's lying. I think Mike forgot.

Dante is cleaning out Nate's desk. Aunt Stella got arrested. She was seen assaulting a man--she says he was trying to steal her purse. He says she attacked him when he tried to help her when the streetlights went out.  So, Jordan calls Curtis to clear it up because..um.. you know the PCPD.  Jordan tells the guy to not press charges because he's on parole and not a good idea.

END: Dante keeps Nathan's Yankees Mug (Thank GOD he wasn't a Mets fan)!! Anna and Robin go to Floating Rib and see Finn with Alexis.

  1. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought dementia with Mike. He was going to get Sonny a cigar but Sonny said later. If Mike knew the money was in there he wouldn't have reached for the box. I wonder if this means they'll bring Mike and his girlfriend back to PC?

  2. I just started watching, but have to say, from yesterday, that I really liked Mike's girlfriend.

Also, today, it broke my heart that Nedly would go after Alexis like that, with all of their history. But, oh well, if Alexis can't win, THEN BRING LAURA BACK TO THE RACE!!

  3. I think that Mike has either dimentia or alzheimers i heard that he is going to be on for a while with the storyline. His girlfriend Rita is the bartender that helped Jason .

    *** I like Mike's girl friend too.

And Laura made so much more sense running for Mayor. She had history in the Charles Street area and is a charismatic speaker. Alexis' character has been a mess all year and they ruined her reputation and the sense of control that she used to have. I wouldn't vote for her for dog catcher the way she's been written this year. She has the look of a frightened child every time she enters a room that Julian's in.

** I was thinking more along the lines of Alzheimers (sp). He's still got a pretty solid grasp on reality for the most part. I could see it leading into Dementia. I've got an aunt who's had it for a couple of years now. But, I don't think he's that bad, yet. Y&R has been doing a really great job with an Alzheimers storyline for the past several months. I'd imagine though, that the plan at the very least is to bring him back to PC. I'm still not sure what I think about the recast, having liked Ron Hale back from his Ryan's Hope days.

I heard that he is going to be on for a while with the storyline.

** Yeah, it's definitely setting things up for a longer one.

His girlfriend Rita is the bartender that helped Jason .

** I didn't even catch that. But, now that you've said something I can picture that in my mind.

  7. I thought I'd give a bit of a heads up...At least according to this week's SOD, they really ARE gonna go there with the Anna/Faison child storyline...USUALLY, I try to avoid all spoilers, but there was no way to this time. All it really said was essentially yeah, that was what we were all afraid it meant. And there would be a bit more this week.

I just figured I'd do my civic duty and forewarn everyone else!

  8. I didn't catch what some of you said about Rita being the bar-tender that helped Jason. I remember that scene but can't remember where the bar was. When she left the apartment she said "I have to get going and open the bar"..... Didn't catch that at the time. Good catch, Anne Long.

  9. Pat, the bar was in NYC. Jason went there when he got off the boat and those guys were chasing him. I believe he gave Rita his watch for helping him out. And then, of all the zillion bars in Manhattan, Drew and Sam showed up. Amazing!

  11. Taking Mike to P.C. may lead to a quicker decline. Many dementia patients do fairly well in their own familiar environments but when they're moved to an unfamiliar plce, without their usual routines, they get confused and often go downhill faster.

With these writers, and Sonny's magical help, Mike will be fixed within the week!

  13. Don't like the new Mike. Didn't like him on Barney Miller and I don't like him here.

  16. As the daughter of a mother with Alzheimer’s, Max Gail is doing an excellent job portraying early signs of the disease

** From the way it was explained to me, it sounded like it was essentially an early stage of it that for some it doesn't get real serious but definitely does effect the person's life. (I.E. the way they're writing Mike atm), is when it's referred to as Alz. But, it isn't called Dementia, until it gets really serious. Along the lines of where, say more often than not, the person is living in their own mental "reality" that only makes sense to them. (This is the way my aunt's doctor explained it, and how she's been for about 2 years right now) That's how it was explained to me at least.

** It was when Jason ducked into that bar in NYC, trying to avoid Klein's goons. IIRC he gave her some sort of expensive watch to thank her for keeping them from finding h It was just a few scenes in one episode. I completely forgot about it myself. That is until it was just mentioned now, and it just "clicked" in my memory. I'm VERY surprised that I even remembered that, since my short term memory for little things like that, is awful anymore. Don't feel bad about not remembering. It was essentially a soap equivalent of "blink and you missed it."

    UGH! *Rolls eyes*

** That was my take after reading that, too. But, you can add nausea onto that after watching today's (Wed) episode. Sure I get WHY they're doing this, but no way in hell do I LIKE that they're doing it.

  19. K, I don't quite understand what the dr. said to you, but there are many forms of dementia, Alzheimer's being one of them. My mother, who is in an assisted living facility, has some cognitive impairment (as many elderly people do), but it is not Alzheimer's, it is another form of dementia.

** Ahhh, okay. Thanks for clearing that up. Really, the medical community locally is an absolute mess. Doctors come and go with such regularity that it's hard to establish a decent doctor/patient or doctor/family relationship. The entire local population here is no more than 35K. With my aunt though, it's been really hard to see her deteriorate. She was always quite intelligent and lively. (She does share the same congenital neuromuscular condition I have, but that has no relation at all her mental decline. I very much appreciate you're clearing my understanding of her condition better.

** Yeah, had that not been pointed out, I wouldn't have made the connection, either. It was probably about 5-10 mins of screen time MAX, several months ago. I was surprised I did even. As my short term memory (particularly my recall) as a result of the coma has gotten awful. All the info is still in my memory, it's just getting to it can be frustrating. And my long term is just fine. No trouble whatsoever.

    Why are they doing it?

** Because it creates drama and conflict. Which isn't ALWAYS a good thing. (Especially when they're rewriting/revising already well known history for the sake of the current storyline playing out on screen now.) They've been playing VERY fast and loose with Anna's history over the past couple years. (Partiuclarly the introduction of Valentin, and pretty much EVERYTHING that's had to do with Alex and Anna's history with her) And it seems to be getting worse. This sort of thing is probably one of my biggest frustrations/annoyances.

FIGHT! FIGHT!

Sam's NOT HAPPY today! She's the latest to visit Jason in his own personal reception room at the PCPD. She asks him if he shot Dan...
