Michael Park: Jack on ATWT from Canandaigua, NY. Thank goodness he's great on Broadway!Yep...another soap bites it and it's a NYC based one. That leaves ABC's One Life to Life as the last soap on the East Coast.. As the World Turns has been on the air for 54 years. We all have to wonder where in the world the soaps are headed. Or do we?
I think we all realize that in five or ten years there's a real possibility that GH, DOOL, Y&R, etc. may not be on the air on broadcast networks like they are now. Hopefully that won't mean they'll be gone altogether, just in another form delivered via a different medium (cable, internet, etc.).

Plus all of the other talented (and award winning) veteran actors and actresses who have been with ATWT for years.
I hope TPTB are paying attention over at ABC and they hire some of these people to fill in the holes!

it sucks that yet another long-running soap is being canceled, but maybe we'll be able to get ghost Alan back for a little while. they could also try to bring back Kevin and Lucy, but i don't see any of these things happening in the near future.
ReplyDeleteI've never really watched ATWT but wow... this is really sad... first GL now this. Sadly, the writing is on the wall for OLTL.
