Sunday Surgery: Speak Now Or.....

 

I COULD have put up Willow's cryin' face as the cover photo---or Drew's shocked mug, but come on!! These two stole the show!! Oh goodness. I just loved it. They need to be a solid pairing and Ric needs to get over Elizabeth.

 Anyway, too bad we didn't get any wedding cake!! 

Grab something yummy and settle in! I got back Monday and have a lot to say.... You know it was a decent week when I take notes so I can remember what to talk about!! 

LET'S GO GO! 

The whole week can really be boiled down to the Soapy 101 wedding we witnessed. It was shocking enough that when Willow confronted Drew right at the altar I thought it was a fake-out daydream  NOPE!! She went all in. Thank God Curtis caved so we could all rejoice in watching this crazy non-wedding. 

GREAT WEDDING MOMENTS:

WAILIN' WILLOW:  What are great soapy scenes made of?? How about a sobbing bride, pouding on a window while her son's grandmother holds him back?  Great staging and direction there.  Willow got picked up by Ric and Liz who took her to the house for tea and sympathy. Poor Liz. Taking care of someone else again!! Anyway, great scenes of stunned disbelief, shock, almost catatonia and wailing.  So many good scenes with Nina and Drew. Even Curtis apologizing to Nina was pretty intriguing. A lot of fallout to get through, that's for sure. 

TRACEY REACTS: Did Dumbo Drew rush to Alexis' house to console his daughter? Nah...he went to the Qs to try to find Willow. Tracey had a ball letting him try to find her. Even Yuri got in on it, trying to stop Drew and Marty from getting over the fence. Why was Yuri there? So that Martin could quiz him about Monica's visitors. A small distraction and price to pay for the shenanigans that took place. 

SHOWDOWN:   Admit it. You were a little disappointed when Willow showed up to talk to Michael and was all "rational" and such. We needed more delusional hysterics for a least a few months, right?? Even though Michael saw her face when he told her Drew called the German Lady, he didn't relent. She's not seeing the kids. Welp, on came the hysteria and water-works again. Rory is knocking it out of the park and he and Kate bounce off each other really well. My one note? Michael went right to Mama Carly after this and had to tell her the whole thing. Can we cut that cord just a little, please? 

MUTTER:  I believe that Dr O doesn't know that Britt is alive. She got her ashes and after the talk with Jason, I think she's clueless. I did love this talk between the two of them. KG is amazing and SBu played it perfectly. One of my fave little moments this week. 

THE FIVE POPPIES:  Logo Alerts: T-shirts, tote-bag, coaster and lord knows what else was shown to let us know that Britt is at THE FIVE POPPIES. Good Gravy. Overkill much? Anyway, Britt gets the goods in the lab and we see her injecting herself in the stomach with something (Ozempic?). She's in a suite and apparently can't leave as per the desk clerk. She's says 'goodnight' to Mutter before tucking in. My theory is that she's working on a Huntington's cure and Dalton is using animals to get his data because it's faster. Ergo, skirting the FDA. (do they even exist anymore tho?) I really like Kelly's acting style but I'm still not happy with the death scene and Britt just popping up. Also: Brad better be around soon or I'll scream. 

THE WSB MESS:  I WANT to like this...I really do. I realize they are trying to harken back to the days of gold but...oooffff. This has taken SO long, dragged out SO much and produced so little excitement I just don't care. Could you make the professor stuff any MORE boring? (Chandler voice). There's NO chem between Vaughn and Joss--sorry but there isn't. Why a guy that looks like Dex was cast is beyond me. DULL. Now they are playing 'newlyweds' and we get to see them try to not 'fall in wub' while chasing Britt at THE FIVE POPPIES. Britt's gonna recognize ol' Joss so, that will be a fail as well. Will St. Jaysus step in to save her? *sigh* I'll give it a go but I don't think I'm going to like it. 

OUTBACK MENTION: Yes, I'm happy they are showing the Devane apartment. I like it. I like the dog. I like Anna putting up with 2 twenty-somethings. Sue me!! The pup is even illegally in the building. I really want them to get caught and evicted because I HATE THAT DECOR and it's NOT Anna. 

WHY AND WHAT:  Um.... STELLA'S trying to get Trina back with boring, no-personality Kai? Um... no. Stop this right now. Get Trina a decent story that may or may not involve a lover. She's young, smart and has a great in with the Gallery and Ava. I just CAN'T. 

CARROT CAKE: Thx to Sloan Rush, I have a photo of Sonny enjoying Suzanne's carrot cake at Alexis' office. I did like that little gem of a scene. Love how Suzanne is all giddy around him. I'm always for a good Sexis moment as well.

THX  to @Odyssey_the on  X  ! WOOT !! So, this was a good week on the show but it could have been better. The wedding should have been 75-80% of the episodes when it was on and it was barely 50. Too much filler. Wednesday was mind-numbing. I realize we are gearing up for the Willow aftermath and Up and Coming "Britt's Alive" story but keep that energy going. Too many recaps by characters spoil the broth.  I want more for Isaiah, Trina and Elizabeth. I want less for Lulu. Laura seems to be a lost cause at the moment; stuck in the never-ending election/pier story. The lack of kids and tweens this summer is just baffling. 

I do hope you are enjoying the show!! Sometimes it's hard to come in and turn on the TV when it's nice outside. I'll do my best but will be out a few days next week. I'll let you know.
