Just heartbroken. Tristan Rogers has passed away from Lung Cancer. Long in our hearts as the dashing Robert Scorpio, we last saw him in a cameo when he appeared during Sofia Mattsson's last scenes on GH.
Robert was a dashing, wonderfully charming character that broke on the scene in 1980 during the hey-day of Luke and Laura. Coming from Australia was another bonus, as we rarely saw actors from there on our soaps. I will be doing a tribute blog to Tristan in the future because his acting and career on GH meant so much to so many of us.
Sending wishes to his family, friends and GH coworkers. Cheers to you. Or as Robert would say: Here's to mud in your eye (From the Bucket of Blood days with Luke)

ReplyDeleteI am so, so so sad. I had a feeling since he didn't look well. What a hero for his fans until the end!! I have loved Robert so much over the years. He has been my ultimate favor male actor on GH of all time!! We all love you Robert Scorpio/ Tristan Rogers!!!!!!!!! He lit up the screen every scene he was in

ReplyDeleteIt's just astounding how the 80s have literally vanished this past year - Leslie Charleson, Chris Robinson, Denise Alexander and now Tristan Rogers. Each one such an important part of GH's legacy and helped catapult the show to become a phenom back then.

DeleteStarted watching Scorpio, Luke, and Laura when I got home from 4th grade each day to avoid homework. Instead, their adventures and chemistry made me a life long fan of the show. When I heard this news today, I cried for a little bit. GH has lost so many of the 80's actors who made the stories fun, enthralling, and Port Charles the place to be...The news of this passing is the hardest for me to bear through because Tristan was my favorite. As I check the social media of his castmates tonight, you can see how much he was loved by them. Dang, I am starting to cry again. RIP Tristan and thanks for the good times and memories------AnonGHfan
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about Robert/Tristan's story line with Tiffany and with Katherine. I liked him best with Anna, but he had good chemistry with most of the women he was paired with on GH. I wasn't a huge fan of Robert and Cheryl though.
ReplyDeleteI grew up watching him on GH!! My mom watched it too! I love Robert freakin Scorpio!!!!! He will be missed!! When Robert left the show the 1st time, my mom stopped watching GH and I kept watching. :)
DeleteOne of my "all time" favorite story lines (although I liked alot) was on Cassadine Island when back when. I would swim ALL day at my friends and when GH was on I would sit in the door way of her cottage in my wet suit and watch GH. Her parents watched too. Her dad would come back to NH from Mass. on his motorcycle just in time to watch GH at 3:00. Those were the days when GH was great!!!!!!!!!
