There have been so many tributes to the late TR that it's hard to find something unique to put into words about the actor. If you were around and watching General Hospital in the 1980s, you'll know the impact he had on our viewing. This was years before "Crocodile Dundee" and the whole Aussie craze. This was also the beginning of the 'adventure-spy' genre on soaps. Who can describe seeing a suave, charismatic character like Robert Scorpio and him justice?
Parry Shen (Brad) wrote about seeing Tristan on his screen when he was 8 years old. He grabbed a book and wrote down "Tristan Rogers" because he loved what he was seeing on screen. It was all so unique. Years later, on set, he told the story to Tristan and asked for his autograph. Another GH alumni, Lisa LoCicero had talked about being such a fan that when she had a scene with Tristan, she was so star-struck it was hard for her to get through it all.

WUBS Fave Anna/Robert scenes. Sexy and fun. WOW. I remember thinking: This is Daytime TV!!?? Very spicy for the time.
Anthony Geary left a memorial passage to him and it's available on TV Insider. He compares their duo to "Butch Cassady and The Sundance Kid". It really was like the ultimate buddy movie but on a soap. Can't describe it unless you saw it!

DeleteLove that you have a picture of when Anna tied Robert up...i was in college when that aired. I had taped it and had the tape for a long time, one of my favorite episodes (especially when Frisco found him).....

DeleteI too hated Anna for a long time when she came between Robert and Holly. I don't remember exactly when Anna won me over. At some point I REALLY started to like Anna and the fact that she was a spy and had "all the moves". Robert/Anna/ and Laura became my favorites. I really loved L&L wedding, RnA wedding and F&F weddings. Oh, and Sean and Tiff was the funniest followed by Lucy and Alan. I hated Lucy SO MUCH for the longest time. I think I hated Lucy until she was with her "Doc".
Wonderful tribute! I remember back in the day when it was either a Quartermaine day or a Scorpio day, and the Scorpio days were my favorite. He was such a charmer!

What a wonderful tribute!!! :) The time when Anna had Robert tied up, that was on Valentine's day!!! At the time I hated it! I hated them together! I didn't forgive her for getting between Robert and Holly! It took a long time until I fell in love with RnA as a couple. It was until they were on going to their honeymoon on that train. :) Humor ensued and it made me laugh. :)

Molly and her book: Molly is writing a book about the old west! The 2 main characters are Clint Buchannan and Delila!! HA! Characters from OLTL! She is fantasizing! That was funny! :)
Cowboy Cody and Molly: Cowboy Cody is so down and he is there getting food. Molly is trying to talk to him. but he isn't really in the mood.
Molly and Krissy: Molly complains about how rude Cowboy Cody is to her, and Krissy tells her about Maxie. Molly didn't know.
Molly and Michael: They bump into each other. Michael asks her if she is okay. Molly says no! I think I have feelings for Cody! HA! :)
Cowboy Cody's horse house:
Brooky and Tracy: Tracy is taking care of the horsies!!! Back in the day Tracy wouldn't be caught dead doing that! She has changed so much! :) Tracy is giving Brooky advice about Lulu! Put everything aside for Maxie. Be there for the family! Brooky hates when she is right.
Tracy says Brooky and Lulu are alike. :)
Tracy and Cowboy Cody: Cowboy Coy shows up late and he is sorry for that. Tracy understands. Cowboy Cody is so down!!! I just want to hug him! :(
Curtis's office:
Curtis, Stella, and Alexis: Curtis wants Drew The toad bad!!!! Stella says no! Just let it go. That she isn't innocent. They talk about how Stella could go to jail.
Curtis, Stella, Marty, and Alexis: Marty shows up and apologizes. Marty hugs Stella. Awwwww! Curtis asks why are you still working for him, and Marty says he doesn't. He was fired. but that's okay because he was going to quit.
Alexis on the phone with Ric: Ric calls her and Alexis wins the line of the day.
Alexis: I have you on my phone as "don't answer" for a reason.
BAHAHAHAHAHA! Ric wants to talk to her!!
Police station:
The Toad and Marty: Marty won't sign the paper! HA!!!! Marty said you drop the charges against Stella, and then he will sign the paper. Toad won't do it, so Marty won't sign! :) Toad fires him! :) GO MARTY GO MARTY! :)
Sonny and Justine: He wants to talk to her alone again. :) Diane doesn't like it, but she will wait outside. He thanks Justine for helping. They talk about the gifts again that he sent her. IF he sent her hahaha.
Sonny and Diane: She knows what he's doing. He is cultivating Justine. Then she asks are you playing her or is she playing you? HA! Probably both! Then they will fall in wuv I'm sure. :)

Liz and Ric: They are having lunch or whatever it is. :) Is this a date? Well she says she is paying. They talk about Willow. Liz thinks Ric is doing this pro bono. I'm not sure why he is just not telling her the truth.
Nina and Ava: They talk about Ric and Ava wants to tell Liz the truth! Nina says no!!!
Ava and Ric: Ava talks to RIc and talks to him about the shell company accounts are locked down. She says it is her money. Ric says it's just for a couple days..HA! Yeah right!
Alexis and Ric: Ric wants one more payment then it's done! Alexis remembers when Ava said the same thing. She says that is good news. What are you planning Alexis? :)
Spixie's home:
Dr. O and Lulu: Dr. O says that Maxie could be in a coma! That upsets Lulu. They talk about Rocco! Dr. O says I never meant any harm talking to Rocco. They have a nice scene today.
Brooky and Lulu: They talk about putting everything aside to be there for the Scorpio family. They both agree. Awwww! Maybe they will be besties after all this!
The hospital:
Dr. O, Felicia, and Maxie: Dr. O has flowers for Maxie. Dr. O says she won't stay long and she is going. Felicia says she is family. Family are always welcome. Awwwwwww! :)
Nina and Liz: Nina is looking for Willow. Liz tells her where Willow is. In the break room!
Toad and Willow: He is lying to her and manipulating her again! He gives her a hug and she lets him! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WILLOW!!!!! Nina shows up and sees.

Haha, I agree with you sonya. It took me a while to warm up to RnA. I ended up liking them, but RnH will always be my #1. I loved Anna when she was with Duke the most.

DeleteYes!! I love Anna and Duke!! And I love Robert and Holly! When Duke died in Anna's arms (which was so stupid because he walked a long way to not even go to the hospital, but to Anna's home and died in her arms!) That was traumatizing!! I couldn't watch that scene again. Then as it turns out Duke is alive and that guy who was Duke was fake?!!! Well okay, then that means I can watch that scene again since that guy was fake haha.

I too was a huge RnH fan and hated Anna at first. Then loved her, then loved RnA but yes, Anna and Duke were the very best. This tribute to Tristan was great and I've read them all. He was so loved. He was great with Luke but he and Shawn Donnelly were my absolute favs! I also like Robert with Katherine Delafield. I really enjoyed that actress and her piano playing. :)

I grew up watching robert and anna, robin was just a little older than me. Still cant believe he's gone.

Drew is unhinged. So proud of Martin, just wish he'd gone a step further and denounced Drew's statement as a gross exaggeration.
So many people making threats and comments abt getting rid of Drew this week, has to be leading to an attempt on his life.

I did a Sonya and enjoyed every shirtless scene he was in and in the ones where he was wearing a shirt I wanted it off. I wanted to jump the man's bones. 😁 Loved Robert and Holly and then fell in love with Robert and Anna.

I may be one of the only ones that liked Robert and with Ann more. I liked Duke, too of course but never a Hollie fan. I sure will miss seeing Robert Scorpio on our show.
ReplyDeleteThe repertoire between Luke (Tony Geary) and Robert (Tristan Rogers) is a HUGE part of the reason I became a "GH" fan. Loved their adventures. I was happy and touched that Geary left such a great tribute to his co-star.
