We all know today is GH's anniversary!! Can't wait to see how they celebrate it. 62 years!
HERE WE GO!
This is obviously a stand-alone episode BTW. If I were you, I'd watch on Hulu with no commercials. Very choppy and a LOT of commercials today, I swear.
Alexis and Curtis were at an AA meeting together. They talk about GH being a good place.
Donna is there for a shot, she did well and has a sucker. Felica, Carly and her go to say "hello to Aunt Bobbie's photo" . Felicia says nursing was Bobbie's calling.
Laura is dedicating the new cardiac wing today-- Sonny is with her. Tracey gets off the elevator she says Monica is too ill to attend. She can't be around many people. Laura's sad but understands. She says her mother had great admiration for Monica.
Portia and Terry come down to join everyone. Anna and Mac are there. Anna had an infusion for her blood thing (they remembered!!) and he wants to take her home so she doesn't have to Uber.
Tracey is at the memorial wall, Stella comes along and calls her a softie at heart. They talk about Monica not being able to make it.
Maxie brings packages to give all the nurses. Deanna and Amy pass them out. They get all sorts of goodies. Felicia and Stella want one too.
Lucy is at Wyndemere talking to Sidwell about the Nurses Balls over the years and they show a flashback of her gowns. He says it's a worthy cause. Lucy talks about AIDS/HIV and the toll it took. Anyway, he agrees to underwrite the ENTIRE BALL this year. ALL of it.
Sonny is the donor to the wing. He left his name off because Monica doesn't like him and he wanted to honor just her. :EYEROLL: Alexis has a scene with him and said she saw the paperwork on her desk. He's such a hero and good person.
Ned and Tracey's talk is wonderful. Good stuff, they talk about their history and Alan and Monica.
Carly and Sonny talk about the hospital in the chapel. About the memories and yada yada.
They do the dedication and then Lucy runs in at the end to say Jenz is the sole person for the Nurses Ball.
ugh
Today was a big let-down. Very dry and just boring...I can't even explain it. No warmth or charm. Just very disconnected. NO FLASHBACKS except Lucy's dresses.
I was disappointed. It should have featured clips of older shows and scenes with Leslie.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe there were no flashbacks of Monica.Maybe they would hav had to pay extra for actors who aren't still there. nevertheless...boring...draggy and very disappointing. Who the heck does Lucy have in her pocket. A real slap in the face for Leslie Charleson.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I wonder if Sonny will christen the cardiac center.
Delete"Di says, P.S. I wonder if Sonny will christen the cardiac center."
DeleteYou mean with zex? ROFL! I'm sure he will! :)
NO...lol You are Encourageable ...pmsl. I meant maybe he'll be the first patient to use it. INFORMAL USE:
Deleteuse for the first time.
"let's get steaks and christen the new grill"
"Di says, NO...lol You are Encourageable ...pmsl."
DeleteBAHAHAHAHAHAHA! :D
"I meant maybe he'll be the first patient to use it. INFORMAL USE:
use for the first time.
"let's get steaks and christen the new grill"
OH! ROFL! Yes he could do that too!!! *Snicker*
Don't worry though. I'm sure when they wheel him in there, they'll rip his shirt off for you. hahahaha
DeleteThat is a bunch of crap if there are no flashbacks of Leslie. Have less people on screen today, and spring for the flashbacks and make it a nice episode. NOT RIGHT
ReplyDeleteLucy's DRESS............. This is not the Lucy show/anniversary
Deletehehe Maybe they realized that it was airing on April Fools day and our dear Monica was not the best choice for that day. (And I love Lynn but this was definitely a Lucy day)
DeleteHappy birthday/anniversary GH!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteWyndemere:
Lucy and Sidwell cookie: I hope Sidwell cookie sings at the nurses ball! :) I'm glad Lucy is talking about the nurses ball! At the time I'm thinking flashbacks of Lucy and the dresses. I want to see more flashbacks and not more flashbacks of the dresses! Lucy you should have told him right from the beginning what the nurses ball is for.
The hospital:
Alexis and Curtis: I need flashbacks!!! And I need Curtis shirtless. :)
Alexis and Laura: Great scene!!!!!
Laura and Curtis: I'm thinking is the donor Leslie?
Laura and Sonny: I want flashbacks please!
Laura, Sonny and Tracy: Still waiting for flashbacks. I thought Tracy was going to tell them that Monica died. :( Monica can't be near people, so what about at home? Do people have to wear a mask at home when they are near Monica?
Ned and Tracy: Great scene!!! When they showed pictures of Alan, Lila, and Edward it made me cry! :(
Carly, Felicia, and Donna: Donna is so freakin adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tracy and Stella: Great scene! I need flashbacks!
Alexis and Sonny: Oh. Sonny is the donor. *Facepalm*
Amy, Deanna, and Maxie: Geez Amy enough how much things cost. Maxie wins the line of the day.
Maxie: And nobody is getting paid enough to take care of James.
ROFL! Wait! Maxie you didn't see when James got his arm broken! Come on writers did you forget what you wrote?
Deanna, Maxie, Amy, Stella, and Felicia: Oh! I want a package too! I also want flashbacks.
The chapel:
Sonny, Donna, and Carly: Oh I thought Sonny was talking about Morgan! Michael! Of course. :)
Mac and Anna: OH! The writers remembered Anna's infusions!!! :0 I love that Anna was talking to Robin on the phone! What no talk about Noah? Not asking how he is?
Anna and Sonny: Oh geez. Anna crying once yesterday was enough. Don't do it again!
The Cardiac wing: So beautiful! And WOW It's bright! That's amazing! Awwww I love the sign on the wall!!! :) Waiting for flashbacks!!! I'm thinking okay they will show at the end, which I wouldn't like it just at the end, but It will be okay I'll get over it. Uh first of all, Lucy this is so inappropriate to talk about the nurses ball at Monica's dedication of the cardiac wing, and second of all, NO FLASHBACKS AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!! Who's freakin idea was this?!?!! Are they waiting until Monica dies to show flashbacks at her funeral?! It just felt this was old Lucy. Lucy isn't like this anymore!!! She has grown up! Why do this to her?
What a let down, I was really looking forward to it. I may be in the minority but I hate that they keep hyping up Sonny as a hero and a good person. He is a cold blooded killer plain and simple. Sure he loves his family, but its not enough and throwing money at the hospital almost makes it feel gross.
ReplyDeleteIf you are in the minority then I am too.
DeleteYou know Sunday Surgery is going to pan all of this. The more I think about the show, the more angry I get
DeleteWhat a dull show.
ReplyDeleteSonny has a major heart attack and a doctor in the new cardiac wing saves him. He decides to change his life. Goes to med school and becomes the head cardiologist at GH next year.
Happy April Fool's Day!
Today's episode was OK, but I thought for sure they would either do flashbacks of Monica or flashbacks of the show's history. At the very least, when Laura was talking about her mom, they could've shown some of the fights between Monica and Lesley.
ReplyDeleteit was so DRY...just dull. I was hoping it would open with Monica working at GH in some old scenes and such-- THEY HAD NONE of her!! I mean, maybe they are waiting until she passes on the show but it was criminal.
DeleteYes! Today was a huge disappointed... STINKO! Flashbacks were 100% necessary and without them the show fell flat.
ReplyDeleteJason should have anonymously donated to establish Monica's cardiac wing, not Sonny.
ReplyDeleteYES!
DeleteI enjoyed parts of the episode especially anything with Genie. BUT, as you've all said, where were the flashbacks???? Such a wasted opportunity! I especially missed Robin "and this is the face of HIV". God, I bawled during that year's Nurse's Ball.
ReplyDeleteSonny again the hero. Just no. Agree with Wanda Woman, Jason should have donated the money.
I do commend the actors, they were all wonderful.
The stand alone episode was jarring in that no one made reference to the cliffhangers from the previous day(s) with Ric and Elizabeth's lives in peril and both in the hospital no less. Another big wasted opportunity was the music. Nothing tugs on the heartstrings to hear the familiar chords of GH's theme in the background underscoring a scene...which should have been used during Laura's speech. As far as clips go...I'm sure they recognized that at some point they'll be doing a tribute to Leslie Charleson when Monica dies offscreen, so they probably made the decision to save that for that episode. However, it still would've been nice to see one or two clips of Monica doing what she did best in the hospital...supporting why they were naming a heart wing after her in the first place. And I 100 percent agree with the above on having Jason fund the wing instead of Sonny. Maybe Jason doesn't have that kind of money, I don't know. But of all the incredulous things were being forced to believe...they could've made this work. How poignant would that have been...considering Jason for many years was kind of a jerk to a woman who overcame her initial disgust that Alan fathered a baby with Susan Moore and loved Jason as one of her own.
ReplyDelete"Diana Taylor says, As far as clips go...I'm sure they recognized that at some point they'll be doing a tribute to Leslie Charleson when Monica dies offscreen, so they probably made the decision to save that for that episode."
DeleteThey probably are, but they could have still shown flashbacks of other people in the hospital. They chose not to!
