It's with such a heavy heart that I'm telling you this. Tyler has passed away according to People and multiple reports online. Tyler was truly loved and one of a kind talent. We knew he had his battles but most of us had hoped he'd make his way back to GH at some point. He WAS Nikolas Cassadine.
Huge thoughts and love to his family and castmates, crewmembers and all who knew him personally. Godspeed, Tyler.
Yeah I was hoping he would come back to be Nik again!!! I googled him and it said he had a cardiac event!!! :( Awww Tyler. :( His poor family! :(
ReplyDeleteHe had the look and presence of Marlon Brando; this is terrible news. /he was and always will be the definitive Nikolas Cassadine
ReplyDeletehe was just so talented
DeleteHe was talented and he loved the kid who played Spencer. I have a wonderful photo of him and me to remember him by.

This is shocking, heartbreaking and tragic. Such a talented young man.
ReplyDeleteTyler Christopher, the actor best known for his work on General Hospital as Nikolas Cassadine, died from a cardiac event in San Diego at age 50 on Tuesday. Cameron's former GH costar Maurice Benard announced the news on Instagram, which was reposted by the official General Hospital account.16 mins ago... so sad
ReplyDeleteI literally gasped out loud. We are losing too many people that are way too young this year.
ReplyDeleteThe memories of the original (and best portrayal in my opinion) Nikolas with so many other cast members were some of the best. Scenes with Genie Francis, Anthony Geary, JJ, Maurice Benard, Nancy Grahan, Natalie Livingston, Becky, Stephen Nichols, and so many more. My heart breaks for his family and his former cast mates.
Linda, I just did the same exact thing! I have been holding out hope that he would return as Nikolas. He will always be Nikolas Cassadine to me.
DeleteOMG-just saw this. Truly heartbreaking. I met him twice and he was so nice. He was Nikolas and always will be.

First Matthew Perry this week, and now Tyler Christopher. This country needs to invest better in it's people. So many only in their 50s dying. Breaks my heart
ReplyDeleteRichard Mill who played Bull on Night Court also died this week too, though he made it to 80. But you're right, lindie. We need to invest better in our people.
DeleteWhat do you mean by "invest in our people"?
DeleteI don't know what lindie meant but I meant having better care for our those who have problems with addiction. Both men had long hard struggles with that demon.
DeleteI'm literally sick in my heart over this news. I hoped SO much that he would get his life and career back on track. I can't think of any other celebrity that would make me sadder hearing this news. None. His poor kids. :(
ReplyDeleteThis is just awful news. I can't believe it. I feel especially bad for his smallish children. Just gut wrenching.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad. He was perfect as Nikolas. RIP.
ReplyDeleteSo sad.
ReplyDeleteWhile I have nothing against the other actors who played Nik, Tyler will always be the one true Nicholas to me. Godspeed, Tyler. Go rest with the angels.
ReplyDeleteI was always hoping he'd make his way back to GH
DeleteGreat article on TV Line about Tyler's introduction to GH....https://tvline.com/news/tyler-christopher-dead-general-hospital-debut-recap-nikolas-1235068857/
ReplyDeleteOn FB the page "General Hospital Snark" has posted a true and rather sad tribute to TC. It is well said and worth reading.
ReplyDeleteChecked that site. Couldn't find the article.
DeleteIt's there, I just checked. Time says about 2 hours ago. Starts off saying "It's always sad when someone dies". There's probably a way to bring it over here but I don't know how.
DeleteI am shocked and saddened to read this, I also always hoped he would come back as Nik. I also have a picture with him from when I visited the GH set, he was such a beautiful and lovely man.
