Did You LIE To Me?

LOL..one  of my friends asked me this after I told her Genie was back...she texted me  yesterday and said, um.. I DON'T THINK SO!! Did you lie to me??

Nope.  But it has been 6 days since we've seen her--and if you were tuning in to catch that particular story, good luck. She WILL be on-- but this chop chop is maddening. ESPECIALLY this last week if you didn't watch Port Charles!!

I keep telling all the vet fans to hang in and tons of cameos, songs/dances are coming.

What I'm afraid of?

When the Nurses' Ball is over.

What then?

What then?

Maybe some real good stories that aren't nodding off and mix old with new, minor w major.

I'm afraid that choppping up the vets' return like that is going to cause many people to tune out, especially those who came back to see them and are only seeing mindless vampire sticht.

I'm also afraid that the Nurse's ball will be cut up and after only quick glimpses of the returnees we'll be off to never land again.

I'm beginning to fear for my show again

What then? GH goes bye-bye. Just my humble opinion.

My question is, WHY are they bringing Richard Simmons back? Why?? Other than the fact that I can't stand him, he had no major impact on the show's history, IMO. He conducted exercise classes at the Campus Disco. Big deal. I want them to bring Emma Samms back. Holly was half of one of the biggest supercouples of all time. SHE had impact.

i love seeing everyone, but there is waaaaay too may people on this show right now.

If they are going to only bring the vets back for a short period of time and not integrate them into the show, they should have waited for the nurses ball and just spent 2-3 weeks with everyone then let them go.

Seeing a story for a week, then not seeing it for 2 weeeks(or more) is annoying. They seem to be doing a "franco" where he taped for 2 days and we saw 2 minutes a day spread out over 2 months.

Did they sign any of the vets for a longer term contract? Are any of them actually staying on?

I tell you that I would have rather seen almost anything OTHER then the vampire crap.

I feel like we've all been lied to and betrayed. A few OLTL actors were brought over to give them work when their show ended. Sure. And how many GH actors have been put out of work since? We'll get a genuine "nod" when the Nurse's Ball is shown and then we won't see any of the returnees again.

They're treating the old fans of the show like idiots who can be appeased with a glimpse of their characters every week or so while they rewrite they whole show.

I just pray they don't chop the Nurse's Ball up into tiny once a day segments, trying to drag it out for weeks, with old faces popping up willy nilly like disembodied puppets, and ruin the whole thing.

I was under the impression that Frisco, Kevin and Scotty returned too.

Sigh.

Hey, but Rick Springfield is coming, right? And Jackie Zeman? There's at LEAST 5 minutes worth of airtime to look forward to.

Would anyone want to see Guza or Wolf back. I know not everyone likes what Ron or Frank are doing but I would rather have Ron and Frank then them. As a big Dante and Lulu fan the fact that they were not shown for weeks at a time is what I don't like about Ron and Frank. I didt't mind the vampire storyline but not at the expanse of Dante and Lulu being on. The Dante and Lulu part is what I hate about Ron and frank.

Ron & Frank took over in Feb of last year. So over the past 13 months, give or take, we've seen the long term front burner returns of Anna & AJ, two characters I never dreamed we'd see on contract again. Duke is also back (don't know his contract status, but he seems long term). We've seen extended visits by Heather, Felicia, Lucy & Laura, and we've seen short term returns by Skye, Ned, Jax, Jerry, Robert, Faison, Frisco, Kevin & Scotty. We'll see Noah, Bobbie & Audrey later this month, maybe Nic too. What are the odds we'd have seen these characters if Guza was still churning out his same three or four mob stories?

I also don't follow the criticism that GH actors have lost jobs. Who lost jobs? Robin, Ethan & Jason left voluntarily, as is Lulu. Matt and Steven are the only two contract actors I can think of who were on the show when they took over who aren't there now. Don't actors lose jobs all the time?

There's a lot I don't like about the show right now, like the Connie stuff and how Maxie has sort of been destroyed as a character recently, and I fully agree that there are too many story threads right now, but Ron & Frank, in my opinion, have done a very good job. Not a great job, but very good.

I think people have forgotten how awful the show was before last February. It's far from perfect but MUCH better than it was.

I think bringing back characters and then not seeing them for a week at a time is not a good job. Neither is putting characters on backburner for storylines that I believe are not good. Characters like Sabrina, Britt, & Kristina are useless and anytime they get on the air is time that should be spent on characters that are vital to the show. Yes, Patrick gets more time because of the first two, but that doesn't mean I still don't FF'd through those scenes.
I know that some of you like the vampire storyline. I don't and the way they are doing it is even worse than I imagined. There has got to be a better storyline out there for Sam and John. As well as Alexis, Liz, Tracy, Monica, Patrick, Olivia, and the list goes on and on...

Why can't we all just sit back and enjoy the show? We are being treated 5 hours per week to an amazing display of characters, some we have not seen in many years. We are sailing in Unchartered waters these days in the soap world. The reality is the weekdays of soap filled afternoons are over. GH is being honored, we have come a long way from a year ago. I don't believe any of us know how this is going to end or if it will. Complaining of choppy storylines and characters you don't like truly are not helping the cause here. My hat is off to Cartini, their handling of this is superb. The vampires are a huge nod to Port Charles. Perhaps another push for more viewers? Also let's not forget the teen crowd. Has anyone ever heard of Twilight? The end game here is to actually have GH back on top, as it once was. Hopefully this is just the beginning!
