TODAY Is the memorial episode for Tony Geary/Luke... So this blog will be just a few observations and thoughts but not much else.
Some political BS was on right before the show and I was scared it wouldn't be on. Thank GOODNESS they were off.
BASICALLY, Lulu finds an old photo of Luke and goes to see Tracey. She says she never got a chance to grieve her dad (in a coma) and Tracey says they should honor him now. They go to the church and that isn't feeling right so they go to The Brown Dog. Pay a cleaner to let them in early--and on his coat is the name "Luke". Awww.
Aidan got his driver's license and Liz tells Laura he's all about cars now. "Luke was into cars" says Laura.
Over at Carly's Kitchen, Sonny says he found a poker chip when he moved and gave it to Donna. It reminds them of Luke. Shades of Sonny and Luke first meeting. Luke calling Carly "Caroline".
A LOT of flashbacks. My fave is Tracey/Luke Post Wedding morning. I forgot she cracked an egg on his head lol
BIG TIME LAURA NAD LUKE stuff--you have to watch it. Just WATCH IT. Remember, I'm Genie's age and started watching when she came on. Laura and Luke were IT for me. I make no apologies for it either. They picked some good ones (and a bit different) to show us. .

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful episode. They did a great job. Not only was it touching and reminiscent of a different time but brought to the surface recent personal losses I have recently been dealing with. The flashbacks were well chosen and all put together beautifully. Good job GH!

Flashbacks: I love them! They were perfect! I remember when L&L got married. I remember the dancing! Luke really loved his children! I loved when Luke called Carly, Carolyn! :) Luke protecting Carly from Sonny awwwww. :) Love that!! Thank you writers! What a great show!

ReplyDeleteThis is an episode where previous actor flashbacks shoulda been used. Previous Carlys and lulus shoulda been shown. Also the Luke at the brown dog shoulda been a cameo by someone connected to TG or something. Otherwise good episode.
ReplyDeleteI loved this episode. Tony Geary and Luke Spencer is why I started watching "GH" all those years ago. I don't think the show would still be on the air if it hadn't been for his influence.
ReplyDeleteKudos to Alexa Havens. She never actually worked with Geary but she did a fantastic job playing Lulu's grief. I 100% believed it. This shows to me they are wasting Alexa's talents with Lulu's current storyline. Give her something meatier to play.
