Kudos to Jen Lilley....

SID Announced today that Jen Lilley will be leaving GH  and Kirsten Storms will be taking back the role of Maxie Jones. I know a lot of people will be happy-- and as a fan of Kirstens's I am as well. I will also really miss Jen. She embraced the complex character of Maxie; she of rapid fire dialog and quirky personality traits. I think Jen did it with gusto.

KS left right in the middle of the JaSam wedding reception and 'poof' Jen stepped right in. It couldn't have been easy. Maxie was on almost every day and also had the break down after Robin "died".  Talk about into the frying pan!
The other thing I admired was her embracing of twitter and the GH fans. She engaged in a dialog with GHers at a time when many of them didn't want to hear about anyone "taking over" Maxie.

With her bigger than life eyes and peppy personality, I really took to Jen and found Maxie with a bit of new life. When Kristina Wagner came back, Jen even looked like she could be her daughter. I think she grew into the role and I give her credit for everything.

Here's hoping that Jen finds great success in her career. She's already been in  "The Artist"  (THE movie of 2011) and upcoming Pepsi commercials that go through time.  Jen also attended the FCW and had a fun bowling party with fans last night.

Good Luck girlie!!  Now you're part of the GH family--meaning we are going to be following you everywhere. Sorry about that!! ;)

  6. That was a great comment! Diddo on the sentiment too! I was one of those that didn't want to see anyone but Kirsten as Maxie and was hard to pursuade at the onset, but I got used to Jen and yes, she did a great substitute job! I am thrilled to pieces to see Kirsten return as she really IS the only Maxie. It's also good to know that they (GH) kept their promise to Kirsten that she would step back into her role when her leave of absence was over despite new writers and such coming on board in the meantime. Wishing Jen all of the best, and yup! Will be following her on Twitter and watching and waiting for her next roles. Looking forward too, to welcoming Kirsten back and watching her and Spinelli turn on that magic chemistry they have!

  7. I'm really going to miss Jen and her portrayal of Maxie. So sad to see her go:( I saw Kirsten's version and I didn't have a problem with her acting, but she didn't make me care about Maxie the way Jen did. I know Jen will find new work, but it won't be the same as seeing her on GH.

  8. i am really happy that Kirsten is coming back to GH. I like Jen Lilley as Maxie, but i prefer Kirsten. I hope that Jen finds something big in the future, although her voice will always drive me nuts.

  9. Nice post Karen.
Jen did an amazing job as Maxie.
Her good bye of YTube was heartfelt also watching her cry.

I wonder when we will be seeing Kirstin again? 6 weeks?? Does this mean we see more Mac & Felicia?

    PLEASE no more Spinelli!!

  10. I am thrilled that Kirsten is coming back. Jen did a great job, but she just wasn't Maxie to me. I always thought of her as a different character. She didn't have the chemistry with spinelli or Matt that Kirsten has. I can't wait for Kirsten's scenes to air.

  11. I LOVE KS so seeing a new Maxie was rough but for probably the ONLY time I didn't hate a recast. She did a really good job being Maxie and respected the character. They brought back SB; maybe they'll bring back JL. Either way I wish her the best of luck.

  12. BY FAR the best Maxi. She could elicit pathos, humor, rage and caring in a viewer the way KS never could. Hopefully she'll have a long career.

  13. Jen Lilley did an amazing job with the character of Maxie! I am really sorry to see her go.

I believe I saw a few tweets from FCW that Rebecca Herbst suggested they bring Jen back as Sarah Webber or Serena Baldwin. Not bad ideas at all!! Hope Frank was in the room or at least heard it thru the twitter grapevine! lol!

  14. I was NOT a fan of her take on Maxie. KS brought a humor to the character which I loved. But JL is a sweet girl and I wish her the best. But welcome home Kirsten!! You have been missed.

  15. I liked JL but whenever she was on screen, I couldn't help but wonder how KS would have handled the same scene. I'm sorry to see JL go but I am happy that KS is coming back.

  16. I think that KS IS Maxie, but JL did the most amazing job, actually stepping in to an almost impossible situation and making it work. I would love to see her as Serena Baldwin (and bring back Scotty, too).
