Sunday Surgery: Start of Summer Splashdown

 

Another week that featured a TUESDAY you just couldn't miss!! What is up with that? I'm not complaining but whoa--a girl has to plan things out! While the show ebbed and flowed, there was a lot of payoff for those that have been waiting for things to come together. BTW, I chose that photo up there just on the basis of hilarity!

I want to start out by saying A TON of things happened this week so you really should at least watch Tuesday and Wednesday's shows to catch up. Go to Friday and just watch the Tracey/Willow scenes as well. You'll thank me.  I can't possibly condense all that happened but I'm going to try. If you think of other things, throw them in the comments. I try to take notes but things moved way too fast for me at some points!! Hope you enjoy: 

THE PLAN, STAN:  Lucas, Sonny and Mayor Laura all hatched a plan to trap Sidwell into being arrested. Whoops. NOT trapped! No, ADA Turner would not like that word. They just exposed him for the beast he really is. The icing on the cake? A real OUTDOOR shoot!! Didn't it add a ton to that whole scenario? AND all the players plus a bunch of cops! Geesh! Happy Birthday to us! Van Hansis was amazing and I always love Carlo Rota so it was just a joy to watch. Many did guess Lucas had on a bullet proof vest but that didn't make it any less exciting. The plan worked, Sidwell got arrested and then Cassius let him go. Personally? I was happy because I love Sidwell and let's face it: he's not the WORST guy to elude justice in the history of GH! Right? 

UNDERGROUND BUNKER:  Liesl finds herself trapped with Agent Jacks down in the bowels of Wyndemere. Any scene Kathleen Gati is in will be elevated so I didn't hate the whole thing at all! It was the perfect way to get the news out about Anna's captivity AND the existence of Cassius. Don't hit me with the "how dumb that twin plot is" because if you're any kind of soap watcher, it's not unusual for women to have had babies and either they were told they were dead or not a part of a twin set. Just GO WITH IT, OK? Madeline must have had a chip loose for that because she did it again with Nelle and Willow. :giggle: Anyway, Kathleen G was so poignant during the reveal, I almost forgot it was 'just a show'. Then her fierce love for the boy she never even raised came out and well, she'll do anything to save him. Cullum came in-- tried to knife fight Joss which alas didn't happen and it ended with the four of them standing and looking at each other. No  follow up so I'm assuming Cullum casually walked out the door with Cassius and.. the women remain in the room. 

THE WILLOW SAGA: I'm grouping this all together because besides the whole drugging of a pair of men, she's also invested in getting herself a man (Chase) and all hell is breaking loose over that as well! Let's go over the Brennan situation first. She now knows Jack is coming back to life and is going to let that happen. Why? He has evidence that Drew misused campaign funds and it can bring him down if exposed. If you ask me THIS is the biggest plot hole out there! Since when would anyone care about that? LOL -- So while Jack is slowly waking up (that had to be a hella dose they gave him), Willow is out trying to get her claws into Chase. Clueless Chase, the Golden Retriever puppy we never had is over here just lapping up all of her attention and not realizing what is happening. Brook Lyn is though and enlists Lucy's help to get her out of the way. I'm happy Lucy is in some juicy stuff!! Brook enlists Brick to manipulate Willow's GPS to make it look like she was at the accident that night. (Is that doable? Because..hell that would be something wouldn' it?!) EVERYONE is happy about this development on my timeline and can't wait for it to actually happen. 

KER SPLASH: Continuing on this track, on Friday we got a great set of scenes with Willow and Tracey. Glorious scenes where Tracey tricked Willow into running down to the boathouse to "fish with Wiley". She knew if Chase was mentioned, Willow would drop her big congressional committee meetings and hightail it right over. They had a great argument about motherhood with Willow calling out Tracey and mentioning Dillion. ('member him?) Tracey couldn't EVEN deal with this peon saying anything about her children and grabbed her arm.  Willow freaked out but then saw Chase and flung herself into the lake after screaming "you're hurting me"!! Guess who jumped in to 'save' her ass? Yep.. the retriever. Somehow Chase thinks Tracey should be arrested at this point and holy hell, are they going to have vengeance coming down on them! 

MOUTH OF THE SOUTH: I used to call Carly this but that moniker is going to Curtis right now. INSUFFERABLE. Good Gravy. Trina's whole shower prep was ruined by this guy and his anger. Jordan is second on the list of the people bugging me. Does she really think Isaiah would leave the scene of an accident on purpose? Not that anyone but her caused it, mind you. The one thing this whole situation IS doing is setting things up for a giant blow up when the baby is born. Eesh. We'll hear 'My Son" a million times just like we have for decades on this show. Yes, I'm assuming he's going to be a boy just because it makes the most sense. So-- Stella tried to be the voice of reason and failed. Then Trina went to her friends and decided to just throw in the towel and become a singer. BTW, when IS Portia due ? I really thought she was going to go into labor after that fight at the shower! 

SEXIS: It's always a delight when Mo and Nancy grace my screen. It doesn't happen too often so it's always just a little surprise. Kristina finally got her ass over there to tell them both she's leaving for med school. Anyone else expect Alexis to get out her paper bag for breathing? The two of them made a range of faces until they embraced the idea and everyone was happy. Krissy got "SOMEONE" to manage Charlie's when she's gone. Sonny is going to have to tell them the upstairs apartment is off limits lol. 

FILLER CUTE SCENES: You've heard of "meet cute" ....and we had some 'filler cutes' this week that are worth a mention. James, Molly and Cody ate sm'ores at the boathouse and talked about love and life. Awww. Cody and Molly. Too bad they'll be off this summer on the book tour. I do like them for a little sweetness now and then. Kristina, Michael and Molly had a brunch where she told them they had to be BFFs because she's leaving and ergo the glue is gone. Giggles all around. Ava and Nina had a nice martini catch-up about Sidwell and all those goings on. I wish Ava was in on all the paralyzing shenanigans but a girl can't have everything. 

WEIRD TURN: Ethan is suddenly dressed as a police officer and breaks into the cold case room at the PCPD. He grabs a box and a disk... I THINK it says 2019 on the front? Does this have something to do with Delilah and the REAL bio DAD of Phoebe? I mean, I can't think of anything else unless she's the daughter of someone?  The last time we had seen Ethan he told Alexis that Phoebe would "know about Delilah" and then this plays out. It felt like just a rando insertion. 

WEEK IN A WUBSHELL: 

Denise (the Wyndemere maid) found Joss' ring and Carly knows she's in there somewhere. Valentin advises caution.

Charlotte and Danny meet up but decide not to go to Spoon Island just yet

Dr O is taken by Cullum to finish the project. She finds out that both of her twins survived birth

Laura cancels Sidwell's flight paths ...he erupts

Sonny, Laura and Lucas are successful in getting Sidwell arrested but Cassius lets him escape

Brennan tells Willow he has enough on Drew to keep him in line

Portia's baby shower is a mess. 

Kristina has a goodbye tour and is leaving for CA to shadow some poor doctor

ADA lady gets on Chases' case because she thinks he stole the video of Willow's guilt

Tracey and Willow have it out. Willow throws herself into the lake. Chase arrests Tracey

Brook hatches a plan to have Willow framed for the 'accident'

WOUNDED WILLOW

COMINGS: Good Gravy, another white guy that is the same age as JOE--and up and coming "Tristan Roberts"... meet Troy Lennon Appel. Yep...contract player to come in as a 'mysterious businessman".  Do they not know ANY OTHER Ethnic Category? It really is the Ford Brother Syndrome from OLTL.  Add Serena Baldwin and we will be getting a whopping four new characters. 

That's all I have for you today! It's been a heck of a write- up that's for sure. The biggest downer in the entire show has to be the "Jordan-Face-Leaving-The-Accident" story. I am glad that Brook is going to frame Willow because let's face it, if anyone deserves it, it's that crazy lady.
