WELL!! I really enjoyed this week a LOT! Most of it was pure entertainment. Really good dialog and character interactions.
Hey, you might just leave with a smile on your face today?? !
There's a kid I work with named KRISANT and you pronounce it JUST like you think so that's what I'm having.
LET'S GO GO
A lot of little things happened this week, then a whopper on Thursday which really delighted and threw me for a loop. I am SO happy I don't know spoilers at this point because dang, I really enjoyed it. AND FIZZ WAS ON!
LATHAN VS SPIXIE: I do admit, I saw this coming a little bit. I figured Maxie would pick Spinelli because it's way more soapy if Lulu-Nathan-Nathan-Maxie do a dance at some point than say, Nathan and Maxie are just happy. I'm still flumbuttoxed over Nathan and his delivery on almost every line (FLAT). It's like why ARE you back again? We saw a tiny glimmer of anger on Friday with his mother but other than that?? Months of nothin'. Spixie was delightful and Maxie's heartfelt: "You're my home" got to me right in the feels. Gah.
NOTE: Maxie and Nathan meeting at his gravestone that is STILL THERE just cracked me right up. Like.. they dug his grave up but left the marker? :giggle:
FIGHT! FIGHT!! Michael and Chase get into it over the key that was found in Michael's possession. Good little fight in the kitchen then they retreat. Chase and Brook have to have a long talk about his job, his fixation on Willow and their wanting to adopt. They finally went to Alexis to ask her to start the process and Chase is pulling stunts. Poor Brookie.
RIC IS MY JAM: I was missing seeing Mr. Hearst on my screens and then he turns up and just acts his ass off in so many scenes. Sonny asks him in for advice and then basically tells him to go away. Then Ric goes to Alexis' office and wowza. Has a little epiphany about life. She's skeptical of course, but for ME? It was really sincere and wonderful. Ric doesn't want to be alone in life and sees the beauty of family. That doesn't mean he'll be all goodie two shoes but it will give him that other dimension we need.
GIO/EMMA: Gemma also stole the show with their cute reunion this week! Like I said on that day, if I can refrain from sarcasm during those types of scenes, you know they are good ones! Such talent and really great dialog between the two of them.
WSB STUFF: Blah blah... Cullum, Brennan... Jason... Britt, shots... cold fusion. Yada yada. People are bringing up the DVX from the past. My bandwidth is jus too low to even research it all. It's glaringly apparent that FH has stepped away from the show and now with Burton taking a break, who knows where things are headed. I guess Lucas is stepping up and Marco will help? Again, it just hasn't been exciting enough or cohesive enough for me to care that much. I WANT to--but it's just not there.
THE GREAT STUFF: On to the main event of the week. There I am minding my own business thinking that Thursday is just filler and... BOOM! BAM! POW! We have some of the best scenes we've had in awhile. Seems Ol' Sidwell is the one that gave Willow the meds for Drew!! I wondered how she would get those if she quit the hospital because I assumed she stole them. NOPE! Oh what a delicious delightful scene between Drew and Jenz. Written by one of my faves, Scott Sickles. Carlo played it so perfectly as well. You can tell he loves his job and boy, do I appreciate it!!
THE REPRESENTATIVE FROM CONGRESSONIAL DISTRICT 25 : Laura chooses Alexis to take Drew's seat until the special election. After mulling it over, Alexis is all ready to step right in. BUT!! Wait!! Sidwell has another plan and her name is Willow Cain. He convinces her to do it and Laura has to change her announcement. Alexis is crushed. Willow is hesitant and wears a lot of Urban Decay make up to compensate. Lulu tries to interview her. Nina interrupts. In the end, Willow is going to be a part time mom, a Drew-Keeper and pass legislation in congress! Ok then!! What could go wrong?
TALK OF SOCIAL MEDIA: What was the BIG news on Socials this week? WELP...Elizabeth and Dante!!! He went to talk to her about Willow's time at the house and it ended up being a 'meet cute' of sorts. Both Dante and Liz need something and this may be it. He's hot headed, she's calm and serene. I like both Becky and Dom so... approved.
INSERT JOSS STUFF: WHAT is happening? I'm wondering if Eden is sticking around because she's just floating and doing weird stuff now and then. I mean SHE got into Wyndemere during the storm and actual talked to Cullum, saw the cigs and the book. Then.. what. WHAAAAT!!? Oh, she stupidly shows GIO the book at The Brown Dog like he's supposed to know what it is. LOL. I guess that maybe with Emma back we'll ramp things up with this? I don't even know anymore.
FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC: Ok, I stole that title but at least it makes it a bit exciting, right? After going off on what is Joss doing I have to add--WHAT is the deal with Valentin? Was it not thought out beyond him hiding at Carly's house? He's been there forever! Geesh!! I keep waiting for Joss to stumble upon him up there and join forces. Or a rat to run over his foot. Anything!
ALSO RANS:
Isaiah confronts Trina, Trina apologizes to her mama and feels the baby kick.
Ava tells Lucas she's a big girl and will play with Sidwell if she wants
Maxie wants Sidwell out of Deception
Sonny and ADA kiss, she slaps him and.. well, that's that. CONFLICTED about FEELINGS
Lulu and Nathan: furrowed brows about telling Maxie they have a connection.
WUBSY WANTS:
Brad to come on board to help figure out the composite used for Britt's meds and to be the guy down in the lab you want to see now and again.
Ms Wu to get in there somehow
The teens/young adults to get way more airtime. We need a strong 20 something cast to get things going.
WHERE THE HECK is Martin?
TEMP CASTING ON MONDAY: Ezra will be played by Patrick Scott Lewis for that day because Daniel Cosgrove was stuck in a snowstorm back east and couldn't get in to film!
Well, that's it!! Really good dialog this week. Having Maxie back just feels right, doesn't it? When actors are loving their jobs, it really shows and it sure does with Carlo. He reminds me a bit of Connie Towers and how she was just delighted to inhabit Helena for awhile. I hope this week is as lively! I made my hair appointment for 9:30am so I won't miss the show! Ha ha!
CHEERS!! Thanks to Sloan for this awesome photo and most of the others in the blog this week!
The scenes between Jenz and Drew and Jenz and Willow were great. My favorite part of "GH" right now.
ReplyDeleteI have wanted a Dante/Elizabeth pairing for a while now, so I am thrilled they were chem-tested. This pairing is exactly what the show needs. A good couple to root for.
I like the interactions between Carly and Valentin, but this storyline needs to speed up. How long can he remained confined in an attic? Nina knows he's in town, so something needs to happen soon.
It irks me that Nathan is around for multiple reasons. I am hoping the scene this week is the beginning of the reveal that although it is Nathan's body, he actually has Peter's memories.
I think Alexis is just a couple of episodes away from figuring out Laura is being blackmailed. LOL Good, because I would like to see these two team up.
“Nathan” being back is just so dull, and yes, his performance is flat but wasn’t it always? When he was hired, it was clear he was hired because he was handsome, not because he could act. He was literally the worst actor I had ever seen outside of bold and beautiful. That being said, he did get better, but it’s still a low bar. I think he really doesn’t want to be at General Hospital and it’s obvious. I think he came back because I know he’s trying to get back on Hallmark and I think this was a steppingstone. They really don’t like him over there, I think he threw some sort of tantrum or something and he’s trying to make up for it. He has apologized a lot of times on social media for his attitude, none of which I ever saw so I think it was work related. All of that being said, him not really making a huge effort doesn’t surprise me. And also, I really don’t think he has the chops in the first place.
ReplyDeleteEM is rumored to be leaving, but I kind of thought they would just recast her. But maybe they won’t because her storyline is so stupid that we could live without her for a while. Keeping her on the back burner seems like a good idea right now. They really did a miss step when they made her WSB.
I’ve always liked Daniel Cosgrove, but wasn’t crazy about his character until the past couple of weeks. I think he has potential to not just be a guy who comes in and is a jerk. I hope they explore that. I loved the scenes this week with Dante and Liz, as well, and opening up that romance will also open up the angel/devil-on-his-shoulder dilemma for Ric. He wants to be a better person and have family in his life, but I have a feeling any rejection from Elizabeth will stunt that. The scene that everyone was talking about with Dante and Elizabeth was so cute! She was so flirty, and he was so smitten! I thought it played out really well and I’d love to see something open up with them.
I couldn’t agree with you more about the WSB/Britt/Brennan/et. al. nonsense. It’s just not interesting. And now there’s a new head of the WSB? I thought Brennan was the head of the WSB! It’s like they constantly just bring new people to try to redeem the old people. It really makes no sense at this point. I’m not a huge fan of Britt To begin with, let alone her romance with Jason so the sooner he can leave town the better. Maybe Valentin will then have something to do and can step in as her substitute love interest. I think they’ve been there before, though at this point, I can’t remember. I may just be thinking of Julian. Plus, I think they’re going to try to push something with Valentin and Carly, which also doesn’t interest me. Still, anything that gets him out of that attic. Why the heck would he escape just to sit in an attic all day?
Willow was full on Mar-a-Lago chic this week during her announcement and it made me laugh. If I already couldn’t stand what she’s become, now she’s a clueless Congress person who needs her mommy to tell her what to say, but she’s pretty so her constituency will like her. It’s all crazy! I did like that Jenz was the one giving her the medicine, he must have a full pharmacy in those catacombs! Lucas trusting Marco to help him get a dose of medicine is just so crazy to me. I feel like something is going to happen in the end of the story where Marco tries to do right by Lucas because he really does love him, and it ends very badly for Marco. I mean, it’s clear his father loves him, but I see it as kind of how the Cassadine men love their sons… There is a limit to it.
I could listen to Jenz talk all day! Really good week but I really want Ric to have a love interest. I hate to always see the “bad” guys winning and prevailing all the time. No one gets stopped or faces consequences - they just go on and on. Maxie looks fabulous!!!

"here's a kid I work with named KRISANT and you pronounce it JUST like you think so that's what I'm having."
ReplyDeleteOh! So the kid's name is pronounced Croissant? That's unique!
"RIC IS MY JAM"
Mine too!!!!!!! :)
"That doesn't mean he'll be all goodie two shoes"
Oh of course not. :)
"but it will give him that other dimension we need."
Yes! I agree! :)
"BOOM! BAM! POW!"
Sounds like Sidwell cookie! ROFL!
"FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC"
ROFL! Come on Carly and V.C. kiss already!
"Sonny and ADA kiss, she slaps him and.. well, that's that. CONFLICTED about FEELINGS"
I'm calling them Corintstine. :) From his last name and her first name. :)
"TEMP CASTING ON MONDAY: Ezra will be played by Patrick Scott Lewis for that day because Daniel Cosgrove was stuck in a snowstorm back east and couldn't get in to film!"
Oh! I haven't heard of Daniel Cosgrove being stuck in a snowstorm. I''ll miss him.
"Thanks to Sloan for this awesome photo and most of the others in the blog this week!"
BAHAHAHAHA I'm dying!!! Pajama guy thinking of shirtless Marco! HAHAHAHA! 💀
Great SS! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteRic is the best GH return ever. And he wasn't even dead!
About Sidwell...I agree that he is an ultimate villain but he is too everywhere and getting away with everything for me. He certainly is a fine actor. Funny that Shelly mentioned Willow going "full on Mar-a-Lago" as I see a definite parallel with real life in this story.
Gio and Emma are sweet. The only ones right now.
-----I think Ezra and Laura are gonna get close and bond...
ReplyDelete------Don't care about Nathan, Maxie, Lulu, Spinelli, Joss, Britt
------Hate Marco and Sidwell is TOO MUCH EVERYWHERE. I just don't see how Sidwell and Willow can stay on the show....
----I wish GH would just announce Finola has gone......no one really is gonna care but by the time (or if) she returns....
----love Ric and love Dante and Liz together.
----one of the worst sweeps ever.
mufasa, soap dirt had a video the other day called Willow must die. They have pretty much written her into a corner.
Delete"Gary says, They have pretty much written her into a corner."
DeleteNo they haven't. There is mental illness in the family, so they can have Willow get professional help.
