Denise Alexander Passes

I just saw the news that Denise passed away. It's such a loss and I feel like my childhood soap stars are just leaving us one by one. She was a smart and funny lady that will be missed dearly. She started on Days of Our Lives, then went to GH and finally to Another World. We knew her best as the iconic Leslie Webber--doctor and mom to Laura Webber. She left GH in 1984 but returned in later years for cameos.

This was Denise when she was doing Steve Silverman's  "Pretty: The Series" and she gave Wubsnet a nice shout out. I never got to meet her in person but this came close. If you've never seen that series, it's a fun one.

Such a loss and she will be missed.

  1. Denise is a large part of the reason that I started watching "GH" all those years ago. She did such a great job with her role and was so relatable. #RIP

  2. Awww. :( Leslie was always one of my favorites. Wonder if anything will be done on the show, or maybe not since we haven't seen her on screen in years.

  4. I looked it up! The last time she was on GH was in 2021! She was so frail then. She passed away March 5th! Her poor family. :(

  5. Denise Alexander and the storyline around David Hamilton is when I began to tune in, around 1977-78. The relationship and chemistry between Alexander and Genie Francis was so good. It seems after Genie left the show the first time, the show couldn't quite figure out what to do with her character. There was potential when Judith Chapman was introduced as Ginny Blake, but the show wrote Lesley off in a contract dispute. To me that was the beginning of the end of GH's golden era from the late 70s through the early 80s. I think the show underestimated what a loss it would be. I remember how stunning it was when she was brought back...the show panning up in the Cassadine attic and there was Lesley sitting in that chair after all these years. That was back in the day when there weren't spoilers like there are today. Quite a surprise. I hope the show gives the character her proper due, even though she's not been on the show regularly for years.

    1. Hi Diana Taylor. That was around the time I started watching too I think. We must be about the same age. I am 59, and started watching around then when I was about 11 or 12. My best friend next door got me hooked. She came over one day and put it on saying her mother watched this great show, and I was "done".

    2. PS. I guess that doesn't necessarily mean we are the same age. Doh. lol
