Florencia Lozano is coming to GH! She played Tea on OLTL-- Ted King was her "brother" Tomas. She'll do doubt be back when Roger Howarth reprises his Todd Manning role. Her hubby on the show was Victor, his twin brother. Confusing I know. You might not be happy more OLTLers are coming but believe me, FL is an awesome actress.
I think Trevor St. John may be coming next.
I am in Toronto at the moment, typing from the Royal York Hotel lobby. My Florida News connection txt'd me when I was on the Peace Bridge LOL.

AWESOME news!
ReplyDeleteHuh. Yeah, not a fan of the migration. Not because I care that they're OLTL people or not, but because it all adds up to too many new people to get to know within too short a timespan. The integration is just exhausting as a viewer, especially if you weren't into OLTL.
ReplyDeleteAnd really, the integration has been spotty at best. Starr (why 2 "r"s? Are you supposed to say it "Starrrrr" like a pirate?) is a good example. Either go full-tilt on integration or not. Don't pull a Brenda and have them blather in near-isolation for a month beforehand.
And yes, of course, I wish they would have pulled older GH characters out of the closet (Nedly, for starters) and used current characters better. But that's a gimme-request, really.
Kinda excited to see Tea' I loved her on OLTL not too excited to see TSJ though. That's just too many egos on GH. I agree with rillaotvalley, too many newbies/oltl characters. Not sure I'm liking Heather back either.

ReplyDeleteTSJ BETTER be coming next! Holla! I'm SOOOOO EXCITED!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I would rather see more GH vets come back than integrate the two soaps.
ReplyDeleteLatest Update from ABC Soaps In Depth says that TPTB have discussed Kristina returning from Yale this summer however it does not seem likely that Lexi Ainsworth will be brought back. They still want to "mature" the character. If you really love Lexi (and I know I do) you might want to write and tweet Carlivati so he knows!
ReplyDeletehttp://abc.soapsindepth.com/2012/04/is-kristina-coming-home.html
I really want Tea to end up being Sonny's lawyer.
ReplyDeleteBrian.
When they first started bringing people over I was excited because I thought it would mean less Sonny. However, that hasn't happened at all. He is still on as much as always.
ReplyDeleteI am not enjoying the return of Heather either. The last thing this show needs is more unlikeable people. I am loving having Anna back and am shocked at how much I like Mc Bain. I hope Tea is a character I can root for.
I will be tweeting Carlivati to let him know what an epic fail it would be to bring a Fake Ass Kristina back to PC. Starrrr is allowed to be a petite young adult in PC but Kristina (a god-damn original GH character) isn't? GMAFB.
ReplyDeleteI just spoke to an insider and it seems that SID isn't the most reputable publication. Also, SID has made it abundantly clear that they do not like Lexi Ainsworth and have even bashed her looks on more than one occasion.
ReplyDeleteThere are other more trustworthy sources saying that Lexi is in talks with Cartini. Maybe SID just didn't want to be late to the party and decided to put their own sh...SPIN on this developing topic.
Funny how SID can feel privileged enough to create rumors yet they are thisclose to being out of business.
You would think that they'd want to maintain the peace and not bring negative feelings towards one of the last remaining soaps.
I did enjoy her as Tea on OLTL, but I'm afraid I am one of those a little worried about one more OLTL character arriving. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled about John. I have wanted him to come for years. And Starr is even okay, since she gives Michael a SL.
ReplyDeleteBut Tea isn't important enough to me to take air time away from GH characters!
I'm not too thrilled about the news.
Instead of moving all the OLTL characters to Port Chuck, simply put their show back on the air. I did watch OLTL, I did enjoy it, but my favorite Show and Characters are GH.
I don't want the two shows completely mixed into one.
Yeah, I am not too thrilled either with all of the OLTL characters. We already have Alexis (a lawyer) that doesn't get a lot of air time. Geesh.
ReplyDeleteYayyyyyy! I love Tea! And TSJ coming back would be absolutely divine. He is the.best. Michael Easton has been on fire since arriving on GH; he is breathing new life into my fav. soap. I just hope all this good stuff continues!
ReplyDeleteAs we all know, ABC has absolutely no problem with canceling any beloved daytime drama. GH is living on a prayer right now. If you would like to have it wiped from your tv screen permanently , keep complaining. RC is trying to breathe life into this show, and if that means melding OLTL with GH, so be it. OLTL is history, and as a fan of both, you really don' t quite understand the finality of it all until you realize it's gone--- for good....
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking as I watched today...much as I have always disliked the Heather character, she does provide some drama in Steve and Olivia's lives and they needed something. Maggie wasn't it, for sure. Steve caught between Olivia and his mother puts him in a really tight spot and gives that twosome a little action they needed if they were going to continue with their story. I have found their romance borderline boring for the most part.
ReplyDeleteAs for Tea, Florencia is a terrific actress, and if Diane isn't going to be around (isn't she on another show now?), we do need more than one attorney in town. Or maybe Tea is there temporarily to bring in some evidence on Sonny or try to stop Todd from testifying or something. Tea and Alexis going at it would be fun. But I'd want Alexis to win because I like Alexis best...I like Nancy and want her to get a big story.
For those of us that never watched OLTL, who exactly is Tea? What's her history with Starr, McBain and Todd? I only know from reading here that she's a lawyer, still married to Todd?
ReplyDeleteTea is cool - no problem with her popping in a for a few episodes, but please let's not make it long term.
ReplyDeleteI like Heather - keep her around for a little bit.
Fin is so good at Anna and so great with whomever she is onscreen with I have gotten past the contrived "old friends" relationship that that they claim she has had with Luke. More Anna and McBain please and more Anna and Mac scenes please. Wonder what Mac thinks about her rooming with Luke? LOL!
More Anna and EVERYONE scenes...Why isn't she visiting Leslie or Bobbie, etc?
Also, bring back Tristan as Scorpio now. She could have already found out the truth re: Ethan and Holly and Luke and come back to Port Charles to get in the mix. Make this happen ASAP!
OldSchoolGHfan
Avalonn, Tea was once married to Todd. She and Todd have a daughter, Danielle. She then remarried the man everyone thought to be Todd who was actually his twin brother, Victor. So to Starr, Tea was once her step-mother and is now her aunt (if that makes any sense). Todd had Tea's brother Tomas (Ted King) kidnapped and framed for Victor's murder. Tea worked with McBain to prove that Tomas was innocent and that it was really Todd that killed Victor. Todd supposedly left Port Charles and went back to Llanview to go on trial for Victor's murder, but the viewers learned during the last OLTL episode that Victor is still alive. Oh, and at the end of OLTL, Tea was pg with Victor's baby.
ReplyDeleteIF GH does this correctly it could be fantastic. I mean bringing them (people from OLTL) on as recurring status. It will help with Starr, McBain, and Todd being on contract.
ReplyDeleteGH did a wonderful job giving McBain back history with Sonny AND Anna.
I can't believe how much I love McBain and his interactions with everyone. He is so sexy as opposed to Ewen who, in my opinion, is aesexual and has chemistry with no one. Cute yes, but that's about it. And I still hate Starr. The scene at the Q's was great, especially when Tracy slipped and fell and Monica and Luke cracked up. JE looked fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your background on the OLTL characters, and I guess they decided in the last ep to have Victor be alive so that Todd would get off in his murder trial and be free to come to PC. I personally don't like the character so that doesn't turn me on at all. I wouldn't mind a quest spot or two but we don't need him as a major character.
ReplyDeleteI like McBain. ( not Starr, but she's bearable and once Sonny is aquitted maybe she and Michael can develop their friendship. She's a much better choice than an older stripper.)
And although I think McBain makes a good addition,I'm against bringing too many of those characters over to GH. They can't bring their show back by taking over ours. If they want this new lawyer to come for a few guest spots, fine, but we have a female lawyer who doesn't get enough time now. Maybe they're thinking of replacing Diane as the actress is busy elsewhere, but to me she's irreplacable.
I think Mac needs more screentime too. Why haven't they had some scenes with him and McBain. If this guy was roaming around questioning people in PC you think Mac would have had a word with him. ( I know he's busy with Maxie but we need to see him in a police role too.)
I am pleased that they've had more scenes with the Q's and I love the Anna/Luke interactions. I hope Anna is around for a long time as she is great with everyone.
Just my 2 cents worth. Oops. Better make that 5. The penny is going the way of the soaps here.
I read on a few sites that Tea was coming. I believe it. Happily. She must be so pregnant!
ReplyDeleteHeather is back, the mean, sick, cruel Heather. Felecia is coming back. Anna is here. Mc Nostrils I HATE. Todd will be here next month.
I say hip hip hooray for GH and what they are doing for the show.
Surely they aren't closing shop quite yet!!
Yes Sam is lying to Jason. It will bite her in the azz so that she will run to Jawn McNostrils for comfort. That is Sam. She goes from man to man. First it was Jax, then Sonny, then Jason. YEP McNostrils is next!!
Who cares. Who can we set up Jason with?? Bree Williamson if she comes to GH?
Wait-who said TSJ was coming back?
ReplyDeleteThat has not been confirmed in the least, has it?

OLTL finished filming, dressing rooms emptied, sets destroyed etc, before Prospect Park announced that the show would not live on on the net. Victor being alive had nothing to do with RC bringing Todd to GH. It had to do with the fact that Todd was supposed to be a character that lived on through the net.
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of people are upset about all the OL characters on GH and since I loved OL, I wanted to keep my tainted opinion to myself. But I have been thinking about it and I don't think the OL characters are taking over at GH. They have not been introducted all at once. It started with one character and moved on from there. With all the characters that RC/FV have gotten rid of, you had to know that new characters would be introduced. And it usually starts with one or two characters and then later on other characters connected to those characters might be introduced. The only difference really is that these particular characters being introduced are already developed and known to many of us. Would it be better to have other newbies with little connection to anyone being introduced? I know that most of you would rather have more vets back, but vets are coming back. And even with vets coming back, some of us who have been watching the show for a long time might know them, while other people watching for a shorter period of time might not and would have to get to know them...again, not really much different than introducing these OL characters. No matter what RC/FV do, they are not going to please everyone. I just hope people can keep an open mind and keep watching to see where all this is going...
This constant discussion about whether OLTL actors should be on GH is simply missing the point. GH is the lowest rated of the 4 soaps now (only 4!! yikes!) OLTL was the highest of all former ABC soaps. If grieving OLTL fans hear that OL actors, as their familiar characters, are on GH, maybe they'll come over to look and that could drive up the numbers. And we need the numbers!
ReplyDeleteThere are about 4 characters on GH whose hugh air time needs cutting (we all know who they are), so if the OLTL people result in less Sonny time--HURRAY! RC and FV inherited these characters and their already-in-progress storylines, and I think they are doing a great job of cleaning up the mess, tying loose ends, waking up stories that were yawns. They have already swept out the newbie GHers we were complaining about before, tidied up the worst stories and intgrated the OLTLers in neat ways. Love McBain--he fits right in. He was a MAJOR star on OLTL, so they aren't likely to minimize him here. Starr they can bring along more slowly. I suspect Tea will be temporary and she is such a good actress, no one should really mind.
I do think it would be smart to sign up Tristan R, but who knows what his demands might be? He was very big time on this show before.
So far, so good. Anything that will help the numbers rise is good right now.
NO I said TSJ might be next!?????? meaning I'm hopeful
ReplyDeleteMosbp, thank-you very much! Sure sounds interesting to me. I never watched OLTL but, I'm loving John McBain and loved Todd. Anyone that hates Sonny is great as far as I'm concerned. I loved Sonny back in the day but, I'm sick of him now, to me he had not evolved at all over the years same crap different pile. It's good to see "new" characters on here that are appearing to be true rivals to these guys. To me this is long overdue and as a longtime GH fan who loves her soap and don't want to see it canceled I'm keeping an open mind to anything R.C. and F.V. throw at me including OLTL characters.
ReplyDeletebtw..Todd & Bobby are going to be on a show together and I can't remember which one!!
