Sunday Surgery: Summer Stars

Ok, I had to get Outback up there looking like her adorable self because she WAS the star of the show this week. Daisy was a close second but I'm a sucker for a doggie so there you are. 

I don't have a heck of a lot to say about the show because it was so up and down it made me nuts some days. A lot of narration happened so if you missed a few weeks, you could catch up pretty fast.  A little surprise made me smile so hard it was worth the wait. 

Grab some grub and let's go go!! 

MAGICAL: I'm just putting this first because it truly was just a wonderful moment. I was spoiler free so I was smiling like a fan-girl when that door opened!!!! WOW.  Just so perfect. Thank you to all involved for making this happen. 

MARCO IN A ROOM: So, on Tuesday we see Marco all kidnapped in a warehouse. Sonny threatens Sidewell at Natalia's "Funeral" (HA!) and tells him to stop it or Marco pays. Marco hits the goon over the head with a chair and instead of a great confronting Sonny-scene we find out he was defeated and tied up. Then? 

Crickets. For THREE DAYS ...nothing. No follow up, no Sidwell angst. Not even a Lucas scene. Now VH did some great work when he was concerned about Marco. Then the writers or editors or...whoever just decided to drop it. Why? WHY? For days we heard about the mob war and Carly begging Sonny to stop and the press and the yada yada. Marco's taken by Sonny and it's not important enough to keep it going?? I mean, it's not that compelling of a thing in the first place but to have it hanging this long makes it just dumb. That STUPID Pier better be voted on soon or we'll all revolt. 

GOODBYE TO YOU: Sasha's goodbyes were... interesting. Why? I thought she was keeping her leaving on the down-low but then everyone found out about it. The weird part was who she DIDN'T say goodbye to. Like her Uncle Mac...or Felicia... or Maxie...or...or... BUT! she did say goodbye to Danny and a bunch of other Q's and Nina so that's that. Tracey didn't bitch about finding another cook which did surprise me.  I was also wondering about Michael. Why couldn't he go visit at some point? He has a damn private plane and such. It was like she was falling off the ends of the earth. 

HELLO "GRANDMA" : Rocco got Dr O to show up in Port Charles! Very welcome for me because Liesl is one of my favorite characters. LOVE KG and her flair for the dramatic! Rocco asked about Britta and was told about her feisty nature and not so squeaky-clean morality. That's not to say she wasn't loved by Mutter!! He also learned about "Being Ben" and liking avocado. It sure seems like she doesn't know that Britt is alive, am I right? Hmmmm....

ANOTHER BLACKMAIL: It's hard to keep it all straight anymore, isn't it? Cripes. The only person not being blackmailed is Terry because she's never on!! Now it's Tracey who made Nina do a piece on "My Nightmare Marriage" to Sonny Corinthos. In the weirdest edit ever, Sonny walks into Nina's office less than a day later to confront her about the interview. Then, he's all okay with it, doesn't blame her but thinks Tracey is manipulative and such. It was a good time for some Nina/Sonny talk and healing but done SO weirdly, imo. I honestly don't know where they are going with Sonny at this point. No idea. 

NELLE-OW: Who else saw that little smirk as totally a "Nelle" expression. ME!! I did!! Love that Dr. O caught it and Nina just tried to brush it off. Nope, Aunt Liesl isn't going to let you off the hook with that one!

ANNA THE GREAT:  We all know this 'spy' story has been a bust. If I have to see Professor Dalton take his shirt off one more time and swim in the pool, I'll scream. We never see the guy anyway and then you do that ?? So, at least we got some courier lady intrigue and airport airtag scuttlebutt. Dante watched from the security lounge. WHY? Because Bad-Ass Devane is figuring out the whole ball o' wax when it comes to the WSB. After talking to Carly she KNOWS Josslyn is in there and hopefully this can lead to some good scenes. Please? 

DAISY THE SHIFTER: Ok, you saw it, I saw it, we all saw it. Daisy was so different from the Q house to Robert's house it was hysterical. I know they have to use twins but geesh! That HAIR! Maybe she was being disguised? ha. 

WEEK IN A WUBSHELL: 

Natalia gets a white coffin and 2 guests at her memorial 

Marco is taken by Sonny and held against his will 

Joss pulls off a successful mission

The Metro Pool gets a LOT of use this week

Anna figures out that Josslyn is in the WSB

Outback ate Anna's shoe

Drew tells Portia to opioid Michael's medical tests; she seems like she's going to refuse

Dr O visits with "grandson" Rocco and then sees Nina

Willow is delighted that Sasha had to leave town with baby Daisy

Sasha's safehouse is with Robert 

Jason thinks he sees Britt at the Paris airport. 

Lulu bitches and moans for a ton of scenes

Curtis caves to Drew and puts out a press piece on Sonny

Isaiah talks to Willow about his money-pit cabin Lucky left him

THINGS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN WAY BETTER:  The Martin and Stella insurance thing. No follow up?  I already talked about Marco being left in a room and it boring us to death. Sasha saying goodbye to people one by one was just...tedious. Everyone was at the Q house, so why not have them all in the kitchen. This show is again feeling like every character is just in their own bubble. 2 on 2 conversations. Also: WHY are you wasting Isaiah?? Dear LORD-- we've had minimal romance on this show so step it up, will ya? One more thing: So, ALL of Elizabeth's kids are gone now? Okay. Not like 3 boys ages 16-22 would be interesting. :eyeroll: Also, um.. Isaiah is RIGHT THERE. They'd make a great couple. 

NEWS: I'm sure you've all heard about Tristan's illness. Such a shame and so sad. It made it all the more poignant that he came on the show to do some scenes for us. Now, I have it on good authority that Emma Samms couldn't make it from England for this (scheduling) so she would have been there too if the stars had aligned. I also have read that Sofia Mattsson has left GH. See it all on Entertainment Weekly. 

NOTE:  I will be here Monday and Tuesday next week and then I'm gone until the following Monday. I won't have time for GH because of fun stuff  but David will be putting up shells for you to comment in and Sonya will continue her summaries. I will write up something for Sunday but probably not much. We shall see!!
