It was bound to happen!! After probably one of the best week in soaps, we inevitably had to take a breather and sink into the same old same old for awhile. But so soon!!?? And so... weirdly? Ok, it's Easter Sunday and I know you're rarin' to go find those eggs so let's:

I realize keeping up a pace like we had would be impossible but dang, sure was nice wasn't it? Today I'm going to just hit the important bits and that will be that. Shouldn't be too many!!
DOUBLEMINT GUM: So, yep.. at the end of one of the most dull days, we got the word that Nathan is in fact, Cassius Faison, Nathan's twin. I was SURE it was Cullum that was the 4th child but nope! GH went with yet ANOTHER TWIN STORY! I've watched for so long that this little trick is just -- such a let down. I almost wish Nathan was regenerated from death by Britt and that was her mission instead of cold fusion. Anyway, for those of you that guessed it, bravo. I would like to point out one glaring thing: You can't tell when "Cassius" is being "Cassius" because not even the monotone of his voice changes. Like nothing. Zippo. Deadpan. We also found out that Kirsten Storms is off contract so if she decides to come back from Nashville here and there we will get a glimpse of that relationship. Will they recast? Who knows.
The reveal of Cassius only surprised me because it was at the end of such a boring day and I had almost turned the episode off!
BTW: Yes, I think he's really developed feelings for Lulu and by default, Rocco.
COMPRESSION SOCK SHOCK: Before I get into this, let's just take a moment to giggle over Trina's gift of COMPRESSION SOCKS. I mean, at LEAST bring the man a DVD of Sinners or something!! So, yes...Trina and Kai go over to Drew's and drop the fact they know about: THE BAT and THE RINGTONE. If that wasn't enough to perk up ol' Dark Willow's ears she actually OVERHEARS them in Drew's office out and out say they know she shot him. I... just.. Um, OKAY? I see her baking a cake filled with Ricin for the two of them.
LUST: Speaking of Willow...she sure was smelling Chases' shirt when he hugged her!! Will baby Phoebe be the next change of clothes victim?
'MEMORIAL': So, Marco got a memorial...or should I say 'pregaming' memorial. People gathered in the echoing church and then, it was over. I guess we are all happy that it wasn't longer. Two things: Diane didn't show up and.. NOT ONE MENTION OF BLAZE. I thought for sure when Kristina was talking to Sidwell she would have said "I've talked to Blaze and if she wasn't stuck in Thailand, she would be here". OR SOMETHING??!! Just made me mad. So, the whole thing boiled down to Sonny and Ric confronting Sidwell. Laura got some more airtime with Ezra Boyle and-- Lucy was trying to sell a house to Lucas.
CONFRONTATIONS: First up, The Brad-Britch slap. She slapped him when he suggested that she was better off without Jason. Don't worry folks, they made up quickly. Second one was Pascal's rant to Lucas about Marco's his murder and that it was Lucas' fault. He played a decent drunk butler. Would have loved for that to have happened AT the memorial but--a girl can't have everything!
MEET CUTE: Cody and Molly continue their adorable relationship by just getting the cute on whenever possible. She had her endometria procedure and he was by her side when she woke up. They shared a scene of her still 'tipsy' with anesthesia complete with her loving his arms, sharing animal crackers and looking at vacation spots. I was disappointed he didn't bring her a stuffed animal with a ribbon around it's neck.
SPIDERS: Wiley is doing a project on spiders because Jacinda likes Spiders. That's all. Carry On. PS did he ever Google "hookers"?
THE REST:
Emma was sad about Anna and Felicia basically told her she's sick and can't come home.
We are going to have to live with Rocco-Guilt for awhile so buckle up. *sigh*
Danny got in a fight and Alexis is flumbuttled with a teenage boy.
Lucas is going to stay at Wyndemere
Dante went to Cullum and was menacing. Cullum was menacing back.
Liz kissed Ric. But also acted mighty happy to see Dante.
Chase asked Willow to put in a good word so they can foster the baby.
The Teens met on the bridge to discuss angst (they did NOT play The Smiths however)
Brennan got in Nina's face about that video and then decided to get Jacinda on his side
There was a whole "Little League" thing. Did you know Trina played it as a kid? She's also going to help Kai coach his team! Michael wants him to give Wiley private lessons! BATTER Up!
NOTE: ALL of the shooting/Britt stuff can be solved if Lucas just goes to Dante. I have no idea why he wouldn't do that. Get a vial of the meds, and start blabbing.
NEWS:
Looks like Kirsten Storms is off contract and I'm not sure if that means Maxie just won't be on much or if they'll recast. I personally love her but dang, this back and forth stuff? Enough. If Maxie is going to be a viable character, then recast. OR have Spinelli and Maxie move and come back for vacations to visit. James could do that too. They are obviously not interested in having Georgie as part of the teen scene so that won't be missed. Bailey Lu is invisible anyway so...
JUST IN: WELL! William Lipton who had left GH, made a post and said "See you in April"!! Go go She Knows Soaps for the details. Even if it's just for a visit, this is great news. I like Cam and we know Liz needs a story!
THERE YOU HAVE IT! A very disjointed week that left me not really paying attention. Yet again, GH fails to follow up on things. Where is Valentin? Why did Carly suddenly show up at Sonny's to yell about the funeral? Why haven't they talked about the evidence at the Pier like the smashed vial? Where the heck has Nina been? While I liked when she and Curtis talked, it really was just filler. The Laura/Ezra/Sidwell/Sonny dance is just so dull. I don't know what I expected to happen after the shooting but it was surely more than we got. Nathan/Cassius? Ok, then get to it. We saw tiny signs he might not be Nathan but nothing exciting or creepy. Maybe I was just in a bad mood all week because it was my 'spring' break and the weather sucked here!
Let's hope next week is more engaging!

A good Sunday Surgery, as always. If Kirsten Storms is only going to appear sporadically, I think it's time for Maxie and Spinelli to move away from Port Charles. I like both characters and I don't want to see Maxie recast.
ReplyDeleteYou make a good point about Lucas just telling Dante. What's more, why doesn't Lucas reveal to Sidwell that Cullum did it? He has no real reason not to, and it would make sense to spill it once Lucas finds out Sidwell is mistakenly targeting Sonny.
I actually kinda like the Cassius/twin twist, but I wish Ryan Paevey would go to some acting classes. He is so monotone and flat. In the hands of a better actor, we would see in his eyes how he is betraying everyone as he poses as Nathan.
I love William Lipton and wish Cameron was still on the show, so I am glad he's coming back for a visit. Also, I know Kathleen Gati is apparently busy on some other TV show, but we need to have Liesel show up for a few episodes once everyone finds out Nathan is Cassius.

Has there been evidence of Britt knowing that it's not Nathan but another brother from same mother? Hope that mother returns soon.
Elizabeth has three sons none of whom have we seen in months. That in itself is wrong.

I really do think Kirsten has some stuff going on personally that isn’t allowing her to be available. Brandon B. has referenced their daughter having had a very hard year and I feel that Kirsten moved there simply because he and his wife decided to move there and she still wanted to be close to her daughter. It could just be her health as I know she was having some old issue flareup but she seems to say it’s under control and I hope that’s the case. That being said, I agree that they either need to recast or send the family away. I actually would prefer if they recast because they can always change course should she decide she wants to come back, and having Maxie in town keeps the Deception company relevant. I really don’t look forward to seeing Brook Lynn relegated to just being a new mom, whose husband is being pulled in another romantic direction. If they decide to move away, maybe Brook could be the new head and then struggle with her career versus motherhood. At least that would be relevant.
ReplyDeleteCan I just say also… I can’t stand the idea of Trina having to be some assistant baseball coach because they can’t find something for this young woman to do outside of that man she is partnered with. I will never understand how they were able to take what was basically the super couple of the year, kill off Spencer because his portrayer wanted to do other things, and then just never recast him and just let that flounder. The guy was a good actor, but it’s not like he was irreplaceable! There are a lot of good actors! People were watching simply because of Sprina! And even before him, the character of Trina was a spitfire that was fun to watch. This Trina is not. There, I have said it. She is boring and the material doesn’t fit her acting skills. She is so peripheral to everyone else, and I just can’t understand why they don’t actually write something good for her. This Drew stuff isn’t it!
